There are so many prOBlems in churches today which are driving people to look elsewhere, to look for something different, to make their churches be about "more" than they are.

Part of the prOBlem is so many pastors who refuse to preach the whole Word of God. Churches are so watered down, so without power, so like the rest of the world, people realize they are getting little out of it and want more.

Rather than giving them the Word, they look for gimmicks, the latest "thing", even if that happens to be something from the past revamped.

Today we see churches turning into entertainment centers, trying to be Catholic-lite, embracing the latest ideas put forth by some author with a good book deal, becoming community centers, preaching the "all paths lead to God" falsehood, and assorted other unbiblcal things in order to try and keep or build membership.

Among the many reasons so many pastors are taking this route is because so many pastors today are not even born again. We have a plethora of lost pastors leading the lost in the same manner the blind leads the blind.

I think, sadly, that John is prOBably right about that. I see so little spiritual/scriptural discernment in most pastors in our day that its hard for one to mentally conclude that many of them have ever truly experienced the new birth. So it is that much more important for us who know Jesus to stand for Him truly and faithfully so that we might have as much influence on the lives of those we touch as we possibly can. May the Holy Spirit fill each of us in that task.

I prefer to call it a faithful and loyal position. That necessitates fidelity to scripture as God's Word.

Alcoholism! Tell Me the Truth!

Is it an illness, or Is it a Sin?

If polluted city water caused a disease, would you build more hospitals and continue to drink the water? If not, why do we treat alcohol like we do and promise its safe?

There would be no prOBlem of alcoholism without alcohol.

If it is a disease, it is the only disease that is licensed, bottled and sold over the counter for profit.

Liquor advertisements promise deceptive slogans, but there is on that really tells it like it is. “Our liquor leaves you breathless.” That is right. All you have to do is visit the morgue or the funeral homes of the city to see those who have been left breathless by liquor consumption.

The Bible term for alcoholism is drunkenness. The person who indulges is called a drunkard. Lets not fail to cry aloud and call this what it is!
Its drunkenness!

Liquor, by definition, is by law, an intoxicating beverage and it is illegal to drink and drive because of that fact. But how many people know that the word 'intoxication' is defined as being poisoned?

From the American Heritage Dictionary - "n·tox·i·cate (¹n-t¼k“s¹-k³t”) v. in·tox·i·cat·ed, in·tox·i·cat·ing, in·tox·i·cates. --tr. 1. To stupefy or excite, as by the action of a chemical substance such as alcohol. 2. To stimulate or excite: “a man whom life intoxicates, who has no need of wine” (Anaïs Nin). 3. To poison. --intr. To cause stupefaction, stimulation, or excitement by or as if by use of a chemical substance: “The notion of Holy War is showing that it has not yet lost all its power to intoxicate and to inflame” (Conor Cruise O'Brien). [Middle English, to poison, from Medieval Latin intoxic³re, intoxic³t- : Latin in-, in; see IN-2 + Late Latin toxic³re, to smear with poison (from Latin toxicum, poison; see TOXIC).]."

This fact is overlooked not only by sinners but by our social drinking Christian friends.

There are very good reasons why faithful Christians can never comply with, compromise with, or identify with Romanism:

The 'falling away' from Christ that Paul described in II Thess. 2:3 had its origin in the days of the apostles themselves but it continued until our time. That apostasy of professing Christianity will continue its downward trend in unfaithfulness until its final rotten condition during the tribulation period.

When she reaches the peak of her unfaithfulness and infidelity to Christ He will come and take His bride, the faithful church, to heaven with Him and leave behind the harlot church.

That apostasy is in action now and it isn't hard to illustrate. Below are all the leaders of the great religions of the world gathered together at Assisi, Italy,. 1986 and later in 2002. They make no doctrinal distinctions at such gatherings and everyone prays openly to their concept of 'god'.



Next is the Pope of Rome in 'Christian fellowship' with the archbishop of Canterbury (the church of England).



Hmm, purple and scarlet. Where have we read about such things?

Next is the pope of Rome with the archbishop of the Eastern Orthodox Catholic church:



Do they worship the same 'god'. I think so but it isn't the Lord Jesus Christ. It's a corrupted counterfeit of Jesus.



Here is the pope in a highly publized act of kissing the 'holy Koran'. God's Word says that "Thou shalt have no other gods before me" but the pope of Rome doesn't care. He makes common cause with all religious heretics who don't oppose his doctrine of works salvation.

Here is the ex-pope receiving the mark of Shiva on the forehead from the hand of a Hindu priestess.



How could any professing catholic who knows what Moses said in the ten commandments agree with this? The Catholic church is the most apostate religious institution in the 'Christian' world.



In the very middle of what is supposed to be the seat and capital of Christianity is this Egyptian idol, the OBelisk that was shipped to Rome from Egypt in the 10th century. This is the very idol that Jeremiah condemned in 43:13. It is an Egyptian sex symbol that was highly regarded by the pagans of ancient Egypt and has nothing to do with biblical Christianity. But again, the popes have never cared what the Bible says about such things because they exalt church authority above the authority of God's word.

The apostasy was then...and is now.

Lastly, the map below reveals the city of Rome as the city of seven hills upon which the 'woman sitteth' Rev 17:9



And below is the archbishop of Canterbury of the Anglican (English) church kissing the ring of the pope. It is clear that the Catholics were delighted at this public act of submission. Even the queen of England is not allowed an audience with the pope unless she wears black...as if in mourning over having not been Roman Catholic and sorrow for not being in submission to his authority.



But if he (the archbishop of Canterbury) really feels this way then he might as well throw the Bible away for there is no loyalty to Christ in such things. Not only so but our Lord even told His followers to 'call no man father which is upon the earth' Matthew 23:9. There are so many contradictions between modern religions which 'profess Christ' and the Word of God as it truly describes our Lord.

Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

I suppose, many people think that there must be rituals use in worshipping the Lord thy God, and the RCC furnished plenty of rituals for their wayward minds so they accept what the Roman Catholic Catechism.

Once many years ago while in the Air Force in the 60's my roommate and I met and dated 2 young Catholic girls attending a Catholic college. His girlfriend got him to take classes on the teaching of the RCC. I do not remember how many weeks he attended this class, but I remember glancing through the notebooks he had for the classes several different times. At that time I was about 20 years of age and my Bible knowledge was extremely shallow. Yet I remember clearly telling him this is not Bible teachings, this stuff has nothing whatsoever to do with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Prior to my roommate taking these classes I had broken off with the Catholic girl I was dating even though I was quite fund of her. Even with my limited knowledge of the RCC and Bible knowledge, it did not seem proper for me to date her, and especially to marry her for I understood if I married her I would have to agree that any children we had would have to be brought up a Catholic.

Just a very few months later after breaking up with her I met a young Baptist girl, and I figure that God brought us together, and we were married, May 18, 1968, and we have not had any conflict over religion, we've been single hearted towards the Lord our God.

Its sad that so many get caught up into their teaching worshipping the church and the pope, not giving Jesus and His Father their proper place.

For those that AA helps overcome their drunkenness, AA often becomes their "saviour" in their minds. Any negative comment regarding AA, not matter how factual, is taken as an attack upon their "saviour" which made them a "new person" (not really new, just no longer drunk, but new in their own minds).

Yes, AA can become just as much of an "addiction" as the liquor and both lead to the same path of destruction.

Yes, I agree. I've seen that to be true for some who are in it.

I've known that there was something wrong with the 12 step AA program for nearly 30 yrs.

I helped an alcoholic man (biblical drunk) once who came to me for help to finish his break with liquor. But he was a member of AA big time and wasn't ready to accept any criticism of it. Nonetheless I gave him some audio tapes exposing AA and its founder that revealed the unbiblical nature of AA. He became furious with me and stomped out. About a year later he came to me and apologized for his behavior and I received him as a brother. But he wouldn't make the break with AA. A very short time after he apologized he committed suicide. AA did not solve his prOBlem and since he looked to AA (who would NOT tell him about Jesus and how He is the solution to our prOBlems) he fell apart and in despair took his own life. How tragic that was.

I have no use for AA. In some cases its just as hard to get people to break with AA than it is to break with liquor itself!

Shows I watched prior to being saved I didn't notice the wicked aspects and being much younger then, I most often missed the political pitches too, as I was saved shortly after turning 18.

However, not long after I became a Christian and had been reading and studying the Word, if I watched a program I had seen years previously and had noticed nothing about, I was continually shocked to see ungodliness, and sometimes liberal political messages, in the programs.

I don't know how any born again Christian with much understanding of the Word of God at all can watch these programs and not see the satanic, occultic imagry and hear the ungodly messages in the programs.

Along these lines, one would expect that as a person matures in Christ they would not be inclined to watch such TV shows and movies at all. I've not set foot in a theater since 1986.

I'm not sure who your intended audience is for what you are putting forth.

Did you read my post above concerning Romanism identified as the Great Whore? The visual illustrations provide excellent evidence of that truth. Why do I need say more?

Whether that does it for you or not I rest my case.

Are you saying Christians walking close with the Lord today don't realize the wicked messages that were in some shows they watched in the past or that Christians walking close with the Lord can watch these shows today and not see the wicked messages?

If they have not been informed, quite so.

How many discerning Christians who walk with the Lord knew that Spocks hand signal was a sign of black magick? How many of them knew that there was black magick in Lord of the Rings? How many of them knew that there were magic pentacles flashed before their faces in Lawnmower man?

Furthermore, how many of those same people could give a cogent, convincing argument to an unsaved or worldly Christian that those things are wrong or evil? I'm telling you from experience, not many.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hosea 4:6

To further demonstrate the value of giving visual illustrations to expose evil or to reveal eternal truth as found in scripture, let me bring you to Revelation 17:

1 ¶ And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Most IFB's I know believe this to be a description of Roman Catholicism in her last stage of apostasy. I agree. I think it is pretty OBvious. But what is the best way to illustrate the truth that it is truly Romanism that is John's subject here in this chapter? Here is how:



There are many pictures of priests in both scarlet and purple rOBes. This provides visual evidence of the truth spoken of.

But there is more. Revelation tells us that this woman sits on seven hills or mountains. How can we demonstrate this truth connecting Romanism with the great whore?



With a geographical map of the city of Rome, that's how. A great city sitting on seven mountains.

But even more so we can prove that Romanism has been in league with paganism for many centuries and she has defiled herself with the kings of the earth. How?

Here's how:



The ancient Egyptian OBelisk, the idol of Egypt that was shipped to Rome by orders of the Pope in the tenth century. This pagan sex symbol that was condemned by Jeremiah the prophet (43:13) is now standing in the middle of what is supposed to be the 'capital of Christianity'. It is no such thing.

And by this:



Pope Pius signing a concordat with Hitlers nazi government. It provided protection for Rome until the end of WW II.

Those visual illustrations strongly support the contention of that the Great Whore is indeed Roman Catholicim and the Vatican. This should help each of you to grasp how valuable such illustrations can be when one is attempting to reveal scriptural truth and/or demonic influence in our world.

Much of the 70s was awash in UFO sightings, reports of alien abuductions, movie and TV shows dealing with the topic. These were often tied into a several year upswing in dealings with the Bermuda Triangle. It was around this time specialty magazines on the topic of UFO's and aliens hit their peak. It could be that many who are Christians today grew up with all that and are now placing it into their biblical model as it seems professing Christians are now more interested in the UFO/alien concepts while the secular world has held rather steady in this after the 70s haydays.

I agree, all aspects of the demonic, whether wicca, satanism, voo-doo or whatever, are evil and real. This is not something to be played with, toyed with or dabbled with. I've known several who encountered the malicious forces of darkness from playing with ouija boards, never having even actually gone farther than that. A friend in high school tried working some witchcraft and "mysteriously" their house burned down.

Great closing paragraph Suzy! We don't have to draw close to the devil or study his wickedness in depth to know his works or his methods. If we abide in Christ we will know His protection and His Spirit will warn ours of the devils schemes.

But brother, look at what she said, "So rather than needing to study these things out in detail...we should be aware, and then draw nigh to God...because if we are right next to God, we will know at a glance those things that are not honoring to Him and those things that are of the devil"

But the fact is that most Christians I've known including our IFB brethren DID NOT KNOW at a glance that Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, or Phantom of the Opera, etc. were ungodly and had satanic content in them. After 27 yrs of counseling and encountering a great many non-discerning Christians I know this to be the truth.

These things need to be exposed and within careful limits I will continue to do so just as I have in my meetings, Bible studies, and here on the Internet.

On the other hand, I am uncomfortable with the pictures you have posted because I feel that even looking at those types of things can bring a sort of demonic presence near your mind and I do not like that at all. We should be smart...be aware...yes the devil is a roaring lion.

Well, I will try to be gentle in my reply. It might be better for you not to read my posts on this subject.

It takes mental consent for a person to be demonized. A person can potentially be demonized by words alone even without pictures....IF they are predisposed to enjoy/like/receive the evil they see or read about. But that should not stop believers from exposing the works of the devil by way of visual illustration where it is appropriate to do so. I do this in our congregation on a wide screen (32 x 64 in) in our Bible studies frequently and our members really appreciate this approach to biblical truth.

The Christians who come to this website in search of fellowship and for more knowledge of God's Word will mentally reject both the meaning & purpose of the illustrations and the written descriptions of such evil. If they approach this matter with a prayerful attitude of resistance they are just as safe as they would be with the same attitude about ungodly billboards they see on the highways or vile posters hanging on someones wall, or when passing a magazine rack when walking through a grocery store.

But unless Bro. Matt decides that this material is inappropriate then I will continue for a day or two longer. There are many Christians that want this information. There are some things I simply cannot explain without the illustrations.

Once I had a man from another church come to me after I gave a very similar message to this one and he said, "Pastor C. I wish our pastor would get into this. He never touches on it." I saw the look of a man hungry to know what the world is going on...but not being fed (at least not about these matters). I expressed my concern but remembered that he had attended our church years ago but left us over a minor doctrinal difference. What could I say to him under those circumstances?

But again, dear lady, if the pictures bother you then perhaps it is best to avoid them.

That our society is being mentally prepared for the coming of antichrist is very easy to illustrate and document. Several volumes of books could be written on the subject and there would still be much more.

One of the most influential and powerful examples of Satan's influence was in Ridley Scotts Blade Runner (1982)
a box office flop but within a decade was commonly called a 'cult classic' and regarded these days as the prototype of futuristic, high-tech films. Paul Sammon wrote of the making of Blade Runner and revealed some rather 'eye-popping' things about it.



For instance, the opening scene; referred to as Dante's Inferno, reveals what Los Angeles could look like in 2019. I said it was 'eye-popping' on purpose:

The eye connected with the pyramid immediately brings ones mind to the most OBvious example of such artwork:



Many if not most fundamental Christians are aware of the occult/masonic connections on the symbol on the U.S. dollar bill. Interesting that the eye is used as a symbol so much in Blade Runner.



Ridley Scott is somewhat of an oddball among oddballs in Hollywood but he is a perfectionist in the Stanley Kubrick mold. Nothing in Blade Runner was left to chance or done helter skelter. Scott admitted to Sammon what his real motive was in making this grotesquely violent film. In commenting on the great 'eye' in the opening scene, he said, "But I later realized that the eye with any specific character was far too literal a maneuver and removed the particual emotion I was trying to induce." Sammon asks him then, "Inserting that gigantic, staring orb up front set up an intereting paranoid vibe, I thought. Because instead of the audience watching the fillm, the film is watching the audience..." and Scott replies, "you hit it. Blade Runner, in a sense, actually is about paranoia. And that eye underscores Deckard's (the hero) dilemma, because by the end of the film, he believes he may be a replicant." On the same page he later tells Sammon, "That feeds right back into the atmosphere of paranoia I was attempting to create." (Sammon, p. 382).

Hmm, I thought movies, like ones favorite television program, were meant for entertainment. But folks, the day and age of Andy Griffith, Lassie, and Roy Rogers is long gone. Now we are in the age of Ridley Scott, Francis Ford Coppola, Dino DeLaurentis, Roman Polanski, and the late Stanley Kubrick...all adepts in influencing subtle cultural changes in the minds of their movie viewing fans.

In the movie replicants created by Tyrell Corporation are pseudo-humans with much greater strength, agility, speed, and greater intelligence than normal humans. They are used for a multiple purposes in space but are outlawed upon earth. Any that dare to come back to earth are gunned down by Blade Runner units of which the hero, Rick Deckard is assigned to kill. The type of replicants seen in the movie are classified Nexus 6- the word "nexus' meaning 'interconnecting' i.e. '666'. The number 6 & 666 is predominant in the movie just like hundreds, perhaps thousands of other movies made by Hollywood.

Check out the opening scene in this work of evil genius; a combination of music and motion with mesmerizing Vangelis music. It is the type of opening that causes one to stop chewing his popcorn in the middle of things with a nearly breathless anticipation of what is coming next. Please pray before you view it for a shield of protection from the Holy Spirit. (note: there is nothing immoral in this clip)...

Speaking of the number '6'...the CEO of Tyrell corporation and creator of the replicants is seen in bed (designed specifically and exactly like the bed of Pope John Paul II in the Vatican). He is dictating a series of numbers while doing business on a dictaphone. He distinctly uses the number 666 for his next transaction. He is interrupted by his hired toy maker Sebastian with whom he has been playing chess with over the telephone for some time. Sebastian says, "Queen to bishop 6". The number six is used two more times in close succession, hence another 666 in the movie. But Sebastian is being coached by the nemesis and symbol of evil in the movie; the worst replicant of all, Roy Batty. Batty uses Sebastian to not only place the genius Tyrell in check but to be personally brought to Tyrell's bedchamber that night.



Roy the replicant comes to Tyrell, who lives on the upper level of the great pyramid and says, "It's not an easy thing to meet your maker." Tyrell refers to him as 'the prodigal son' who has done so many incredible things. But Roy wants/demands that Tyrell repair his creation and give the still living replicants more life (they were given only a 4 yr life-span). Tyrell tells him in no uncertain terms that this is not possible. The conversation that ensued is incredible and absolutely has to be demonically instilled knowledge for the writer, Hampton Francher guessed at the science of it all and did not even know that he was medically and biologically correct.

Tyrell: The facts of life. To make an alteration in the evolvement of an organic life-system is fatal. The coding system cannot be revised once it's been established.
Batty: Why not?
Tyrell: Because by the 2nd day of incubation, any cells that have undergone reversion mutations give rise to revertant colonies like rats leaving a sinking ship. They the ship sinks.
Batty: What about EMS recombination?
Tyrell: We've already tried it. Ethyl Methanesulfonate is an alkylating agent and a potent mutagen. It created a virus so lethal the subject was dead before he left the table.
Batty: Then a repressive protein that blocks the operating cells!
Tyrell: Wouldn't OBstruct replication, but it does give rise to an error in replication, so that the newly formed DNA strand carries a mutation and you've got a virus again.

Batty then says, "Nothing the god of biomechanics wouldn't let you into heaven for," and then he gives Tyrell a homosexual kiss on the lips and punches his eyes out with his thumbs. It was so vile I had to look away from it.

But why is the above conversation so important? Because the writer, Hampton Francher made it all up(!) and yet it was medically/biologically correct. (The Merck Index, 11th Edition, Merck Publishing, 1989, p. 602). Along with this was the reaction of the novel writer, Philip K. Dick, the one whose book was made into this movie. After viewing it he told the producers & directors that what they had done was exactly what he had in his mind...to the letter. I regard all of this as an indication of the collective demonic influence upon the minds of the movie makers without their knowing of it. It happens often.

How ironic; Tyrell, the 'creator' being destroyed by Roy Batty, the 'prodigal son' who came home, not to make peace with his 'father' but to kill him in a most violent fashion. I caught on real fast that this is exactly what Satan wish he could do to God the Father. Thank the Lord he cannot.

To further emphasize that Roy Batty is a symbol of Satan himself in the movie; in his search for Tyrell he encounters the corporation eye-maker, Chew. Upon meeting him the overawed Chew hears him say, "Fiery the angels fell. Deep thunder rolled around their shores, Burning with the fires of Orc." as a tip-off that he and his replicants were symbolic of Satan and his fallen angels in rebellion to God.

I brought this particular motion picture into the discussion because it has had such a vast influence upon the science fiction genre and so many millions have seen it and its extreme violence. I have personally counseled with people who were very influenced by this film, one of whom was seriously demonized and when under demonic control spoke some of the very dialoge that came from Blade Runner. Thank the Lord she found deliverance in Jesus and is doing well to this day since putting such things out of her life.

Continuing with the satanic age and the devils attempt to mentally prepare the world for his antichrist:

Speaking of sentimental, shallow love that is easily lured into darkness and sin, Bram Stoker's novel Dracula is the worst I know of in that category. Francis Ford Coppola produced a movie based on Stokers book in the 1990's. I am not one who believes in banning books or magazines (porn is the exception) because I don't want to see us Christians have our Bibles or gospel tracts banned. Those who could ban other things could also ban us. But that movie was so evil it should have been against the law. I felt sick after reviewing just a little of it. I wouldn't even mention this one at all except for the almost unbelievable, breath-stealing ending in which the demonic looking Dracula is said to come and save us all by his shed blood!



Troublesome to me also is the fact that this was no low-grade 'B' horror flick. This was a state-of-the-art classy, high-money production.

Since my own sensibilities were shocked at what Coppola did with this story I cringe to think how movie fans were mentally destroyed by this thing. Those who watched it for pure entertainment were undoubtedly defiled; some mentally and some even physically.

I won't bother with the story line. Most people know it anyway. But the word 'Dracula' comes from an eastern European word 'dracool' or 'the dragon'. That's the first tip-off that Dracula identifies with Satan. Secondly, Dracula has daughters who prey upon the blood of the hero of the story and attempt to physically control and destroy him so that their 'father' can accomplish his goal: reunite with the 'reincarnation' of his long lost loved one who is back in England.
His demonic daughters are never satisfied and remain like leeches upon him until he finally escapes.

The scene reminds one of Proverbs 30:15. "The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough."



This is the only mention of vampires in the Bible but the prohibition given to Christians at the council of Jerusalem for them to not drink blood (Acts 15) leads us to believe that there were perverted cults who drank human blood in that day and the apostles wanted Christians to avoid them. Having had more then one former member of my church come in contact with blood drinking cults and being defiled by them, I understand that prohibition very well.

Spurgeons favorite commentators, Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown said this about Prov 30:15, quote: "supposed by some to be the vampire (a fabulous creature), as being literally insatiable; but the other subjects mentioned must be taken as this, comparatively insatiable. The use of a fabulous creature agreeably to popular notions is not inconsistent with inspiration.

In a (pardon the pun) blood curdling moment in the movie while Dracula is about to seduce the heroine, Mena, the hero and Dr. Van Helsing, the vampire expert, show up with a crucifix and startled him. He turns quickly to them and transforms into the devil right in front of them and says (the most unbelievable thing I've ever heard in the movies...ever)

"LOOK WHAT YOUR GOD HAS DONE TO ME!"



That left me jolted and I felt the viewers were hearing the hatred of the devil for God directly from the mouth of Satan himself. But the truth is that I have come across quite a few expressions like this through the years...in books, movies, magazines, and websites on the Internet.

I don't think I've ever seen anything as diabolical as this...as exemplified by the scene in which the now-human-looking Dracula dines with Mena in his attempt to win her affections. On the table is a bottle of Absinthe. The camera slowly gives the viewer a close-up of the bottle as the liquor is poured into Mena's glass by the evil one;

He says, 'Absinthe is the aphrodisiac of the self'


Once the glass is filled the viewer can only see the word...



And Dracula continues, "The Green Fairy (spirit in the absinthe) wants your soul. But you will be safe with me."

Talk about subliminal suggestion? Talk about double-entendre? It's both there and I am convinced that evil spirits put all these things into the minds of the movie producers and directors. Did they know what they were doing? PrOBably but I've learned that malevolant spirits can manipulate human minds to serve Satan without human knowledge of it.

The only 'good' thing about this movie is that it is no longer popular or being spoken of much.

I will agree with my adversaries that this is 'trash' and very evil. But we'd better know WHY it is evil and give a good answer to those who ask of us our reasons.

I've seen no teaching where ALL the pieces of the prophetic puzzle fall together perfectly. There is certainly more there for some views than others, but I've not seen any yet which perfectly ties it all together.

I know of which view I lean towards, but I do believe the Lord left it somewhat vague for a reason.

About 25 yrs ago I took an old Bible that was in very poor condition that I intended to dispose of and during a study on Bible prophecy I decided to cut out all of the passages concerning prophecy from Genesis 3:15 all the way to Revelation 22. I cleared off my desk and I took each of those clippings and started to try to fit them together jigsaw puzzle style and laid scripture next to scripture. Using the "if-the-door-is-closed-you-can't-go-there" idea in completing this task...guess which of the many notions about prophecy fit together perfectly? The pre-tribulation position.

No, God's Spirit did not specify in words just when nor all the circumstances surrounding the coming of the Lord for his church but there is more than enough given us in scripture to pin-point the fact that God's people will be removed from danger BEFORE God pours out his wrath. In like manner was it for Noah and his family who entered the ark of safety before the flood, Lot and family removed from Sodom before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah etc. Luke 21:35-36 compared to I Thess. 5:3.

The next one concerns the Phantom of the Opera.



An old Hollywood movie that became a Broadway opera by Andrew Lloyd Webbers production. It was his production in particular that caught my attention. The opera begins with a crowd of people at an auction in the old opera house in Paris, France. The auctioneer is selling off items from the old days of the theaters glory days, one of which is the beatiful giant chandelier. He mentions it as item # '666'. My antenna went up immediately.



The storyline is that a deranged and facially mutilated former composer of the old operatic days of Paris lives far below the opera house in a lair of darkness, stench, and fog. He has set his affections upon a certain stage girl named 'Christine' to whom he privately speaks to through the walls and teaches her how to sing beautifully. Eventually, when he thinks she is ready he lures her through the great mirror in her chambers down to his lair. There he sings to her and with her and tells her he is going to make her the greatest opera singer of all. The foolish girl with a sentimental sense of love falls for this monster/murderer. One gets the impression she would fall for anything in breeches if he can sing well & show her some attention. Along comes Raul, her childhood boyfriend who becomes the phantom's worse adversary and the one who comes to rescue Christine from the evil one in the end of things. She struggles to break her heart free from the 'poor, misunderstood' phantom whom she learned her art from but finally decides to go with Raul.

In the opera there is this mesmerizing song sung by the phantom to his beautiful captive:

If ever the devil wrote a love song to the human race in an attempt to compromise ones virtue, this was it.

But there is a plot behind a plot in this story.

The phantom = Satan
Christine = the church (her name means literally, 'a follower of Christ')
Raul = (Christ, loosely speaking)

It all represents the devils efforts to lure the church away from Christ. This is why he sings, "Turn your face away from the garish light of day." Clearly, the phantom (Satan) is trying to persuade Christine to turn away from the light of God.

Compare those words with what Paul told us, "Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.: I Thess. 5:5

It isn't too hard therefore, to figure out that the phantom is really the devil. That is the plot behind the plot.



The damage that this production has done to human lives, especially females, only heaven knows. But the whole thing plays upon the emotions of young women and girls who (if Christian) have not yet fully set their affections upon Christ as the center of their lives. It plays upon the affections of those who wish mentally, to be like Christine and have a 'secret lover' like the phantom. I have seen plenty of females like this and they are easy prey for Satan.

I was distressed yrs ago to learn that a local church in our area played the music of this opera...IN CHURCH! I just shook my head in amazement at the lack of discernment on the part of those who claim to be Christian; hence, just one reason why I am posting this information.

Moving on with evidence for the mental preparation of our society for antichrist;

J.R.R. Tolkien wrote was has become the most celebrated fantasy novels of all time: The Lord of the Rings.



Many Christians have become whole hearted fans of this story not knowing that Tolkien was a Roman Catholic mystic whose philosophy was much more Gnostic than biblical. The word Gnostic is from the Greek 'gnosis' = knowledge. Gnosticism is a term that describes many of the ancient anti-christian cults of the Roman world in the first three centuries.



It is supposed to be a belief system that sets good vs evil in terms of humans/hOBbits/elves vs the demonic-like orcs. Tolkeins series & the movies made from them are based upon this concept. The Lord Jesus Christ and God are never mentioned once. The battle between 'good' and 'evil' is fought by those on the 'light' side against those on the 'dark side', but both use magic against each other. THAT is gnosticism.

There were many moments of fear and terror in the story:



This split-second scene by itself is enough to make any unsuspecting person feel a jolt of fear. But remember what Paul told us: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

The Holy Spirit brings across the truth about Satan and his kingdom without frightening the readers. So it should be for all Christians novels and movies. The Lord of the Rings therefore does not qualify.

But not only so I found elements of outright black magick in this story as I mentioned earlier concerning 'Lawnmower Man'.

Notice I have made a green arrow directed at the pointing finger on the map. This appeared very briefly in the movie but in the Hildebrandt Brothers childrens book the pointing finger is identical to this:



This is from the black magick book "Keys of Solomon the King" (has nothing to do with Solomon of the Bible!). It is the moon pentacle and its purpose is for occultists to cast spells or create magickal effects (manipulation of circumstances, mind control, love potions, etc).

The 'Door of Moria' in Tolkiens "The Two Towers":



...is virtually identical to the door symbol of the Masonic 18th degree Royal Arch.

The pillars, the seven stars, the arch, and the blazing comet are all there. Each of them have a deep metaphysical meaning that I won't get into here, but this is, once again; gnosticism. The Lord of the Rings is gnostic in nature and has nothing to do with Christianity. One important note before I move on to another point: Occultists of virtually all stripes love Tolkiens The Lord of the Rings.

Are Christians supposed to pay attention and detail the way Satan works...that is, the way he lures believers into sin?

Yes. Here's the proof from the real Solomon in Proverbs:

Solomon gave us this helpful warning by making a careful OBservation from a distance. So since we have the Internet at our disposal it is just one way in which we can OBerve and expose Satan's efforts to destroy souls and Christian lives...at a distance. But it must be done with prayer and careful consideration as guided by the Holy Spirit.

I have a good example of the star trek stuff that really disgusted me. There is an animation show

I've done research in this area. I think the intention is to get people to listen to evil
spirits, and sometimes not to realize it either - ie "esp". It goes on in churches too, because
people are listening to satan and thinking he's God or "an angel of light". So its
to cheapen, redefine words or things, and try to get people to be unwary.

Those are the verses that are misquoted to promote the PTR.

Paul says that when he was with the Thessolonians he told the church what this would be and with remarkable unanimity told us exactly what Paul had told them. It was that 'he' was the Roman Emperor and the 'What;' was the Empire. so let's look at your verses again


II Thess. 2:7

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth(hinders)The Emperor will let(hinder) , until he The Emperor be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked(The Papacy) be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

Remember that the Papacy inflicted great tribulation on many christians over centuries.

The Emperor and Empire were removed when Constantine removed the seat of the Empire to Byzantium, allowing the Papacy to develop. Christians at the time recognized this, such as the Waldensians as they traced their separation from Rome to the time when Sylvester was Bishop of Rome, at the time of Constantine. Constantine himself, recognized that the Antichrist was to be head of the Roman Church, and worrying that it may be him, removed the seat of the Empire from Rome.

I don't agree. The only teaching about the rapture in which all the pieces of the prophetic puzzle fall together perfectly is the pre-tribulation position.

The prophecy is yet future and no Caesar nor Pope fits the description of antichrist. None of them required all humans to receive an identification mark on thier right hands nor their foreheads. None of them enforced their rule over the entire world as Rev. 13 tells us will be the case for antichrist. Those are two very important distinctions that should not be overlooked.

3: Us meeting with the Lord.

But what you forgot was Pauls comforting words to the Thessalonians in vs 1-2


1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Both the rapture AND the visible return of Christ to earth are mentioned here; they are two stages of one great event...first the removal of His people and secondly the visible return to judge the wicked.

But verse two, Paul tries to calm their fears after they had been told by a false teacher that the tribulation was occurring THEN, in the present. It was not. Not everything in the Bible is in chronological order but the meaning is plain enough.

Believers who are faithful to God will escape the coming tribulation that is coming upon the earth soon.

"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." Luke 21:36

Those who reject Christ or hypocrites who pretend at their faith will not escape.

When Jesus comes for the resurrection/rapture (16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.) those unbelievers will not be left to sci-fi speculation. They will suffer sudden destruction Read on:

2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

That's right, they will not escape. But that destructions BEGINS at that point and get progressively WORSE as the tribulation continues.

We will escape. Jesus said so; 'Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.' Luke 21:36.

Thank you for your patience and responses. I don't like to just assume I know what someone is trying to say which is why I ask for clarification. I believe I now get the point you are trying to make here.

No doubt the devil is working hard to turn people from God and anything godly so they will not only enjoy wickedness themselves and not only tolerate others being wicked but so they will willingly participate and promote wickedness.

I wasn't saying I didn't believe you with regards to Anton, just pointing out his and his daughters explanation for their rituals. They claim to be anti-God, this is certainly do believe, and part of this is their also being anti-Bible, as in they say they believe nothing the Bible says. Part of their mocking of the God and the Bible is worshipping the one the Bible declares to be the enemy, Satan, and doing so using rituals based upon Catholic rituals with the intent to mock Christianity, God and the Bible. This all sounds plausible and they could certainly being doing the devils work without actually believing he even exists. Without doubt there are some involved with the Church of Satan who do see themselves as worshipping a literal devil and Anton and his daughter admit this but claim that most of these simply haven't evolved enough to realize Satan is just another myth of the Bible and Satan really just represents full human freedom to do as they please. Whatever the actual case may be, they are serving the cause of the devil.

It's also worth noting that the Church of Satan is actually rather small and there are many more out there calling themselves Satanists who don't agree with them. They tend to view Satan as more of a demi-god or even another god basically equal to God. These sorts tend to be far more "dark" and inclined toward aspects of violence.

Again, it's clear the world is more inclined to follow the devil than God. The world is lost in their sins and mostly uninterested in seeking God but rather most interested in seeking their own desires. This is something Satan promotes by any means available to him, whether through movies, music, commercials, the public schools, ungodly politicians, false pastors, etc.

But brother, a big part of the reason for the expose is that as a pastor I have counseled with people from many backgrounds who were affected by the things I've posted since last night. Even for a tiny church in a small town I have counseled witches, satanists, New Agers, Hindus who literally worshipped many gods, cutters, S & M practicioners, drug addicts, homosexuals/lesbians, and children whose hearts and minds were messed up by the movies, T.V. programs, and comics they were allowed to read. What I posted above had a big part in influencing the lives of those so troubled.
