My papa died yesterday afternoon due to complications of diabetes. God has been very merciful because even up to the last minute of his life, God sent missionaries in the hospital to be able to share the gospel to him. I am not sure if he could still hear it but the whole family was very comforted. Some bible students and one of our Pastors was also present during his passing which makes things a little bit easy for us to accept. His heart stop while he was sleeping, not much physical struggle. Praise the Lord!
Thank you all for your prayers. God bless you.

Hi Jenjen,  It sure would be reassuring if he can articulate back to you what it means to be saved.  But if not, you'll have to take his word for it and trust that he accepted the work of the Holy Spirit.
In February of this year, one of my uncles went home to be with the Lord.  This was a man of low moral character who hated the things of God and even cursed me for sharing the gospel with him.  But I and others persisted and while driving down to see him in the hospital, his body gave up the ghost.  Upon my arrival, a christian man came out of his room and recounted to us that his last words were to accept Christ as Lord and Savior.  How glorious a miracle!
John Newton mentioned how when we get to heaven we'll not see some people we expected to be there and see some people we never thought would make it!
Just days ago, another uncle passed away and went on to is reward, having spent a lifetime living like the devil and never having made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ.

I don't know if we could know for sure but it might be possible if a person knows him well enough they may be able to get a sense of whether or not there seems to be evidence (or not) of salvation. Myself, I would pray for the Lord to help me be able to discern whether he is saved or not. Naturally our hope is that he's been born again but is unable to communicate or clearly show that due to his condition.
When my Mom reached the end she became mostly out of it, only able to communicate minimally, and then not at all right before she passed. I can't say with 100% certainty my Mom was saved but I think she was and absolutely hope she was.
Keeping your dad, you and family in prayer.

    Final update:
My father passed peacefully into glory yesterday about 3pm. They removed the ventilator, and his breathing slowly passed after about two hours. No struggling, no pain, I suspect he was already gone before this. My mother held his hand, while the rest of us stood by.  I didn't get it at first, but I firmly believe that my mother really needed the time to process everything as it happened, and when the time came, she was able to let him go. Last night and today she's been surrounded by my youngest sister and some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, (I had to come home today), going through stuff with them. She's decided to get rid of a lot of her stuff and then move with my sister in Louisiana.
Fun time: tomorrow I do a funeral for a lady from my church who passed away about a month ago-her kids are very sorry that it happened to coincide with my father's passing, but I assured them I was at peace with my dad, and am quite ready to see to their needs.
So again, thanks so much for shared experiences and love and prayers during this time. Its weird but at 51, this is the first close family loss I have experienced, so it was a new experience for me and I appreciate all the kindness.

Thanks all for your kind words and shared experiences. We are at the hospital waiting to speak with the doctor.
The weird thing is, I don't have a lot of pain for myself: I am secure in his going to glory and that I will see him again-rather my pain comes in thought of the pain of others over it, I hurt that my mother will hurt and my sister. But in all I think this time of waiting has been good, because it has helped my mother accept what's happening much better-shes no longer saying she's going to follow him immediately, but is making plans for a move to Louisiana with my sister and her husband and three strong strapping sons who will be able to see to caring for her-four good Christain young men, from 19-8. SO I am encouraged.
Thanks again all. Fellowship makes things easier to bear.

It is really hard when it is our parents. My father is in the hospital too, very weak and it is hard to think that he could die and leave us any moment. The posts here are very encouraging. God makes no mistakes and His way is perfect. May God comfort us all during these trying times. God bless everyone and let us pray for one another.

Praise the Lord as he cares for us and grants mercy through the difficulties we face. May the Lord do a work to reach out to all those in the hospital ward for their salvation and well being. I pray for the best for your father and most especially that he know Christ as Saviour and Lord. May the Lord bless and keep you and your family.

I've used plain old salt water on my wounds, but with all of his medicines I don't know if it could cause a problem. Jeny, I too hope God is giving him this time so he can be saved.

    Hi All,
Thank you for your prayers. I am requesting you again for prayers, hope you will not get tired of me.

My papa is not feeling well. His wounds in his feet is not healing and there are small wounds coming out. 3/4 of his sole has wounds already and the surgery from the removal of his two toes has not been healing. His arms and face are swelling for a week now. His wounds are very smelly. He does not want to be taken to the hospital anymore. We just placed bactrigas on his feet and the ointment that the doctor prescribed shows no relief. He is taking the following medicines:
    sultamicillin
    Vitamin B complex
    silversulfadiazine
    ketoanalogue
    lactolus
    amlodipine
    clonidine
    linogliptin
Can anyone recommend a good way to dress a wound. It seems that there is no improvement on his wounds.
Please pray for his salvation. I believe that this is God's will that God prolonged his life even in agony just for him to know the gospel. I visit him every Sunday afternoon, please pray for wisdom that I can share the gospel to him in a way that he will understand. I ask him if he believes in Jesus and have repented of his sins. He said yes. It is up to the Lord now and I believe in God's mercy. Salvation is of the Lord!

Thank you all for your prayers. God bless you.
