It is strange that whe  I speak to JWs and ask who will be saved, the quote that  verse. Except one, who said  "Believe on Jesus Christ and you will be saved."
There are usually  a couple at the end of our road most mornings, they seem to change to another couple after an hour.  One named Godwin who is an elder wants me to sit on a bench in the park and discuss the bible with him  but I said I was quite happy sitting right there on my mobility scooter. I invited him to come to our house and sit in the garden and discuss  the scriptures with me. Eventually he agreed and I gave him a scripture verse and asked him to think what it meant to him to start with. He asked what my take on it was but I said  "I'm asking you think about it and we can discuss it when you come."
1 Corr  6:19,20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.  They say the Holy Spirit is only a force not God. Who lives in a temple? Depending on his answer I will direct him to the scriptures where Paul says "You are the temple of the living God" Also who if the first and last. Their bible says Jehovah in a couple of places and in others it is plainly Jesus. They say jesus is a god, not The God.  They also say Jesus died an a torture stake not a cross and that  the cross is a pagan sign which shows that churches are based on paganism. But their  watchtower magazine used a cross in a crown on the cover till the first issue in 1931 after which they took it off.

Yes quite a lot. One interesting thing that I read in one of his books was that the Pooe wanted Japan to attack Russia. But they attacked Pearl Harbour. Had they followed the papal wishes, then the USA may never gave joined the war.
Also  The Vatican against Europe, by Edmond Paris. I had a book called The Spanish Holocaust.  I had just started to read it when my friend whose mother was Spanish and lived at the time of Franco's persecutions asked if he could have it. Hundreds of thousands of Republicans, Christians and Democrats were executed.

It leaves that doctrine in the same place as all other Roman Catholic doctrine. There is not one doctrine that they have not polluted with their man-made heresy.
Not only is there no "assumption" but there is no "Blessed Virgin". Mary stopped being a virgin the moment she had a child, as do all women.

Last Saturday, my daughter and son in law held a barbecue for those who attend her English language class for immigrants.  All those who attended were South Americans, from Nicaragua,  Columbia, etc. There were 27 attended altogether, 4 family members, 4 church members who help with the class (1 lady member is Mexican who translated the bible reading and short message) there were 9 or 10 adult class members and the rest children. Some of them come to our church services end couple of the women bring their children to Sunday school.  I am not allowed to share photos as some left their homes as they were in danger. The Sunday before a couple that attended our evening service, at the fellowship refreshments after, were in a huddle with my daughter and son in law. My daughter had earlier given them Spanish bibles. F. was very pleased as they are not allowed bibles in their home country. They are RCs and my S. I. L explained the difference between the mass  and the Lord's Supper.  They seemed very open to the gospel.
Today I did steak (cauliflower cheese grills for my wife) and fries with peas.

In the far north of Scotland was a fishing port at Wick. The fishermen Went down the east coast of Scotland and England and theit wives followed them and worked processing the fish in the ports where their boats landed the catch. They were known as Fishwives. During some of these journeys some of the men were evangelised and were saved. They founded The Wick Harbour Mission and themselves evangelised as the visited other fishing ports. Then Britain joined the EU and due to the European Common Fisheries Policy, whe Wick fishermen lost their quotas as the fishing grounds had to be shared with the EU fishing states.
A friend of ours was a missionary in the Philippines and had to come to the UK to get his adopted daughter's adoption recognised in UK. He was offered a furlough place 6-9 months in one of 3 churches. One of them was Wick where the old mission building was now known as Wick Harbour Mission Baptist Church, and was kept open by 5 elderly ladies. By the time he came over the other two churches had got pastors so he ended up in Wick.
Later on his mission board asked if he would retire and become pastor at wick which he accepted and has been pastor there for a few years now.

I agree Jim. A lady at my previous  church used to like her seat and though we had a policy of not having reserved seats, sometimes coming in late not making any attempt to tiptoe and once complained that someone is sitting  in her seat.
I have never been in a large church. Our chapel has a out 80 seats and   most of them are taked each Sunday morning and I have a problem with remembering many of the names.  I would hate having to attend a church much larger. I wouldn't know anyone.
A church we used to try to get to when we went to France was at Laon. Once my wife and I visited with my daughter,  son in law and their  5 children.  The pastor  said we had more than doubled the  congregation they had the previous Sunday.

I've attended two different churches that had over a 1,000 regular members but neither were baptist.
I have a hard time seeing how a Baptist church could function properly with so many people. I see church membership specifically becoming compromised with so many people to look after. It's been my experience that most people attracted to large churches are people who don't want any accountability and want to just get lost in the crowd. But not impossible. I know at least one Baptist megachurch in Greenville, S.C. that is has strong leadership and remains KJV only that seems to deal with large attendance easy enough.
It seems to me that most Baptists would plant another congregation in favor of creating a large mega church.

Donating the leaves for what? I didn't say it was evil or Catholic - just that I don't see the need for it or understand it. I see preaching about Jesus coming into Jerusalem for His final week as He went to the cross and the events of that week for sermon themes, but observing the day in some sense, I don't. At least not as a regular thing every year. If some church decided to do a series of meetings about Jesus going to the cross and being our Messiah who fulfilled all OT prophecies so far about His first coming, then I can see a purpose for that - but not as an day to be observed. In the sense I mentioned above, I could see observing it in that sense as a believer or a church may occasionally observe the Passover - as an opportunity to preach and fellowship over what our Saviour has done.
And this is my opinion - I am not saying it is wrong, just that I don't see or understand the purpose of it. We should do all to glorify the Lord and edify the true believers in our local church. What is the reason you or your church observes the day? And is it something they observe every year?

I don't like pork, although it is much cheaper. When I used to go to France, I used to buy Merguez sausages, these are usually beef, but can be lamb or Turkey.  There is a butcher a town about 20 miles from here who  makes Merguez from lamb.  I prefer them to the French ones as they have less fat in them.

It is true, the longer the better, but within reason of course. It matures much better if hung in an environment that consists of moving air; stale unmoving air shortens the maturing time because it causes the meat to start to "sweat," which becomes rancid very quickly.

I had bought a beef roast that had been marked down in price because it was outdated. I look for these outdated roasts because beef is so expensive. It was a bit discolored, but I have no problem with that because I was, at one time in my life, a butcher and can tell when something is just outdated or actually spoiled. No one wants to be eating spoiled meat.
In any event, this beef roast was way too big for me. My wife has stopped eating meat by choice and for health reasons, so now I have to watch the size of meat products I buy. But being as it was marked down and the only one of its kind, I had no choice.
I said all of that to say that I slow cooked the roast yesterday on the stovetop and it was wonderful. I also made a rich brown gravy to compliment the mashed potatoes. I had a lot left over, so will have it again tonight. I may even have enough for a sandwich or two. ?

Today I did mince and veggie penne for me and veggie penne for my wife.
I often do stir fry and been using fresh ginger, however recently I have been using frozen ginger. It is in 400g packs which is a bit less than a lb,and comes in small cubes, each is enough for 1 portion that usually use. It is chopped small so I don't have to do anything to it. Much easier than fresh ginger and less expensive.

It was written to the  church, for the church so that they would know of the tribulations the saints would suffer,  mainly under pagan Rome and then Papal Rome. I have a friend who says that he doesn't believe the church will go through tribulation.  I say "What world are you living in? Have you never heard of the inquisition, the wars of religion in France, with pastors having their bodies broken on the wheel, then hung and men found in assemblies being sentenced to life in the valleys and women sentenced to incarceration in places like the Tower of Constance in the aptly named town of Aigres Mortes (Bitter Deaths). Or the massacres at Wassy and St Bartholomew.  Or John Brown, a Lollard or the town I am now living in, who was imprisoned in  Canterbury,  than had his feet burned through to the bone, then forced to walk to the place where he was burned to death."
Preterism and futurism were both started by Jesuits to counter the Christian teaching the the Pope is antichrist, which was taught by the Waldensians from about 1200 AD when the papacy reached it's full persecuting powers.  These two bedfellows also tea h that Revelation is nothing to do with the church. It was written to the church to tell them what was soon to happen, Rev 1:1 see also
AMOS 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

God's Holy Word states the following in Hebrews 12:22-24 -- "But ye ARE come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and CHURCH ["ecclesia"] of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel."
Herein God's own Word speaks of a church ("ecclesia") that universally includes all New Testament believers whose names "are written in heaven."  Furthermore, it speaks of this church ("ecclesia") in the present tense, and indicates that New Testament believers who are still on the earth have come to be a part thereof.
Actually, it really does not matter what language I might associate with a given aspect of doctrine.  It really only matters what language the Lord our God Himself through His Holy Word as inspired by His Holy Spirit might associate with a given aspect of doctrine.
Truthfully, I myself would not have considered on my own that all New Testament believers, scattered all over the world, are actually seated in heaven.  However, the Lord our God in His Holy Spirit inspired Word reveals precisely that.  I myself would not have considered on my own that all New Testament believers today were actually crucified with Christ two thousand years ago and raised again with Christ two thousand years ago.  However, the Lord our God in His Holy Spirit inspired Word teaches precisely that.  (By the way, according to Romans 6:4 all New Testament believers today were buried with Christ into His death by means of baptism, not figuratively, but actually.  So, was this accomplished by water baptism or by Spirit baptism.  (Note: Some so-called "figurative" baptism could not have accomplished what Romans 6:3-11 indicates.))

Invicta reacted to Dr. Robert S. Morley in The two witnesses and cessationism
The book of Revelation is jampacked with the symbolic language of apocalyptic literature. The prophecy was given to encourage Christ's Church then and throughout history until His return. The "two witnesses" are among the many symbols used for that purpose. John explains their symbolism by using further symbolism. Below is an extract from what I wrote elsewhere that might shed light on how to interpret the "two witnesses":
    Who Are the Two Witnesses?
‘“And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth’ (Rev. 11:3-4).
    Meaning:
    - two witnesses = double witness
    Context:
    - two witnesses = two lampstands = two olive trees
    - lampstands = churches
    Allusions:
    - olive trees = kingly & priestly authority of Zerubbabel as governor & Joshua as high priest (see Zech. 4)
    - Elijah and Moses at the transfiguration
    - Jesus sent disciples out in 2’s
    - 2 churches = Old & New Testament Church
    - 2 churches = Smyrna & Philadelphia as ideal churches
    - two or three witnesses required to establish truth
    - foundation of the apostles and prophets
    Interpretation:
    - The ‘two witnesses with authority to prophesy’ depict 'those who worship in the temple' (Rev. 11:1), in other words, those who are truly God’s people of the Old and New Testament eras. The ‘temple’ is God’s dwelling, which was a physical place in the Old Testament and is the body of Christ in the New.
    Purpose:
. . .  the Church in the 1st century would have received comfort from the vision if they saw the slaying and resurrection of the two witnesses as a figurative depiction of the Old and New Testament Churches that included them. The two witnesses represent God’s people who lay down their lives (not necessarily literally) in service to God, therefore, we too should take comfort and encouragement from this in our service to the Lord.

What are we coming to.  The British Prime Minster is a Hindu which is a fire worshipping religion. The Mayor of London and the probable next leader of Scotland are Mulim whose God is the moon. The Welsh leader is an extreme woke socialist. The US president is a member of a "Church" which in the tribulation of the middle ages and later murdered untold millions of true Christians. The whole western world has turn to supporting the LGBTQ etc perverts (I would call them by their real names, LSE., Lesbians, Sodomites, and Eunuchs.) God destroyed Sodom in the time of Abraham, in the law he said that it was an abomination for a man to lie with a man as with a woman, Paul also includes women "for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature"   Romans 1:26. And  says that they and also those that support them are worthy of death. Jesus gave two indications is when he would return, as in the days of Noah and Lot. Luke 17:26-29. We are almost there. We are doomed. He has given the west over to our lusts. Romans 1:24-26.
