If you are playing guitar,  I would just say that our pastor wont allow a guitar in the church even in the Sunday school. He considers they are too connected with rock music. I pointed out that pianos have also been connected to Rock music and boogie, but it didn't make any difference, he won't change his mind.

I want to share some changes we've made to our software to keep our community safe.  It's all about reporting content that might have nudity or explicit stuff in it. Here's the deal: If you come across anything that contains nudity, you can now report it as nudity. When only one member does that, the software will automatically hide that content from public view. Our Mods will then take the necessary steps for banning . This change is all about making sure our Online Baptist family-friendly and faith-centered environment stays that way. I stopped using socks several years ago, except when i am gong to buy new shoes. I always use slip on shoes which I put on with the aid of a long handled shoe horn.

Yeah, reminds me of when I was at work and mentioned going past a bar/restaurant that was designed for women and I called them ladies.
The supervisor, a lady,  said I'd have to be careful what I said around here and don't use the word 'lady'.  
Alot of women these days are offended by the term lady.  I always thought it as a dignified term as alongside 'gentlemen'.  A respectful term.
And then it's been pushed further than that... with women identifying themselves as 'non binary' or actually a man.  And we are supposed to be not allowed to say they are still a woman.
Reality checks are often needed in today's subjective society. 
 

I did chicken chips and runner beans today. The runners are a bit prolific at present in the garden. I should have taken some to church this morning to give away, but I forgot. 

Personally I wish the pastor's wife would step down as "worship" leader. I mean, what is that anyway? In most of the Baptist churches I was ever in as a member or visitor up until the early 1990s, there was a proper song leader. I never did like the changeover to a "worship ' leader. I always believed that to be the pastors job, and we should have our hearts in condition to worship and praise God. 

However, that particular verse is speaking of the church, not the home. A wife isn't to usurp her hubs' authority, but don't apply to the home what God intends for the church...
As to the OP...
I am not in favor of "worship" leaders whether they be male or female. Far too many of them (not saying all) "lead" the congregation in  worldly method of "worship."
I prefer the "old-fashioned" SONG leader. And that would eliminate women from the position simply because it is leadership of both men and women in the church.

Well here what you call  bell peppers, we just call peppers, and chili just chili.  I have met Americans who when the refer to pepper mean chili. 
At the weekend I did slow cooked beef stew for me and vegetable and bean stew for Kay.  It lasted for 3 days finishing it up today for lunch. There was enough gravy left, just, for me to make into hot and sour soup served with homemade wholemeal bread this evening.  Kay had a spring roll and a couple of camembert  bakes.

I went to Aldi this morning and passed the usual JW pitch. There was only one elderly lady there and I spoke to her and asked some questions. Another lady turned up with their stall.  Instead of setting up their stall. She saw me and immediately said to the other lady come on we'll go for a cup of coffee. I actually wasn't intending to go to Aldi but to the outlet centre. However I went over the footbridge over the river instead of turning right and going along the riverside path. But I got to the outlet centre after Aldi by going along the road to the next junction and could pick up the path a few yards down, but it is a very busy junction and I dont like crossing it on my mobility scooter.
On the way back I passed the two JW ladies, who refused to look at me, they kept talking to each other as if I wasn't there. 
I was trying to think of the verse where,  I think it was Paul, said, something like always be prepared to defend your faith, but I can't remember. As someone said, "My memory is what I forget with." 
 
 
 

For lunch I had lamb steak and vegetables. 
Not sure what I am doing for supper yet and it is time to be eating it. I will probably get something out of the freezer.

JWs don't believe in Hell. They say it is just the grave and there is no eternal punishment.  Atheists and JWs would be pleased if that is the case. 
There are usually 2 standing at the end of our road most mornings but they weren't there today and I don't think they were last week either. Perhaps they have Tuesday off.
Some friends who gave us a lift to our service on Sunday said that they don't talk to them as it is a waste of time. I said that is not for us to decide, God can use every little bit to add to the last and make them think. They are indoctrinated to obey rather than think.

Another sheet  of theirs "Who Will Conquer the WORLD in the 1970s".  The date has now changed  again to 1975. "As one brother said  "Stay  alive till Seventy-Five"." It boasts that since 1973 they had record numbers of Pioneers.   Another quote from that paper; "Reports are heard of brothers selling their homes and property and planning to finish the rest of their days in this old system in the pioneer services." 
The first Christian forum I went on had a number of ex JWs . One , Eddie, said he gave up his job and became a part time window cleaner to allow him time to proclaim that this system would end  in 1975.  He said 1975 came and went and the job  ruined his  health.
I think after 1975 their numbers dropped dramatically.  I believe the Armstrong Worldwide Church of God also taught that and had a Publication  1975 Iin prophecy.

Someone I know, Mike Moore,  an evangelist to the Jews,  who wrote a lot against JWs,  was invited to speak at one of their services. He went and preached the gospel. They said "We agree to differ." He said "NO WE WON'T!"

I said to one who I think is an elder, if you come to our  service one Sunday,  I will come to yours the following Sunday.  He thought for a while and then said  "I won't come to your church because your pastor will preach on the trinity."  I should have said,  he may not that day and you can not believe it, and afterwards  speak and challenge him, he won't mind." 
I sometimes challenge him if I don't agree with him. I said if I have anything to say, I will say it to your face, not behind your back." He said "I appreciate that."

I got one of those leaflets from their stall at the end of our road, inviting them to their service for the memorial of Jesus' death. I wish now that did go as I would ask them why the celebrate Jesus' death and not his resurrection?  They don't believe his actual body was raised, but only  a spirit body. I would then point them to 
1 15:12-19 Corinthians Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
I will perhaps ask them on the stall at the end of our Road,  not when one of the elders are there because they have an answer for everything even though their answers are nonsense.

"As I said last night I spoke with the Neurologist yesterday. The neurologist had another CT scan performed yesterday afternoon. The results show that he experienced several strokes to various areas of his brain during surgery. What the Doctor does not know yet is the extent of damage done to those areas of the brain. The neurologist cannot evaluate the brain damage until Jimmy wakes up from the coma.  If he does wake up, then the Doctor will have a better idea of the extent of brain damage. I wish I could give more concrete answers but we just don’t know yet. The Doctors said his condition is very serious but we can only wait to see if he wakes up to know more.    I won't be sending any more updates until we actually know more than this.    Linda"
