I don't know what his current work schedule is but, due to the nature of his job, he often works(ed) 12 hrs a day / 7 days a week for up to a month and a half or 2 months at a time with a week or two home between jobs.

Thanks Preacher, I am persuaded that the IFB churches in general are among the most accurate in teaching, preaching and exhorting members to live a holy and reverent life that pleases the Lord. That's why when I have studied out a topic as reasonably best as I can and can't find an answer, I will look at pastors, teachers and the teachings of certain churches I see that are closest to correctly (scripturally) teaching and living the Bible, which includes a clear observation that they are in alignment with the scriptures and are bearing much fruit.
I won't let that settle the matter for me on a given topic, but it is a useful indicator that I might be on the right track to truth and not waste time looking at pastors and churches who are liberal. Bottom line is, if I can't figure a matter out from the scriptures alone once I've considered all the evidence on a question I've got, I'll leave it as unsettled and simply say, honestly, I don't know. And that's the most honest answer I can give God, and He will be pleased with that.
By obtaining facts about IFB churches and if there is a significant majority of them teaching a particular position on divorce and remarriage, I can then look at the history of this position (e.g. has it changed over time, and why) and most importantly why scripturally would such a church type (I know IFB is not a denomination) choose a significant majority position if it indeed does exist. And it can be helpful to see if that majority position bears fruit. Once again, not basing my final decision on  a position of a type of church/denomination, but rather using these evidences from faithful churches to reduce the time to arrive hopefully at an answer when I can't make a final conclusion from the scriptures alone which is always my goal.

Actually, he's not stating that a certain # of times in reading will mysteriously ....
The emphasis here is to inundate yourself with enough Scripture to know the context and flow of the given book instead of just a verse or two which may or may not be lifted partially or totally out of context. I was once told in 1981 by an old Bible College professor (Rufus Bryant - he was saved around 1915 or so) "If you are studying a book of the Bible, read it through at least 15 times before picking up your pencil to write any notes."
The idea here is to get to know the passage well before seeking to comment, teach, or analyze said passage. You can't get enough of God's Word. As Lester Roloff once said concerning hiding God's Word in our hearts, "it's time we QUIT having our children memorize verses, they need to be memorizing CHAPTERS". He believed that about the adults, too.
People who have seen their sincere beliefs were Biblically wrong generally see it from Bible, not commentary.

This type of study is never mentioned by men but is the central theme of Scripture (Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out of the Mouth of God). No matter where you feel you are in your walk with God this study program will change you. Even the most seemingly solidly grounded of believers will benefit from this little idea, it is guaranteed by God. Faith comes by HEARING and hearing by the Word of God. Hearing God's Word without the commentary (tradition) that makes the Word of none effect. Try this, let the Spirit guide you in all truth.
Although seemingly mundane as far as systems of belief go, no big shots names to elevate, no frills, no flash, no commentary or merchandise to buy, only God's Word in the archaic, hard to understand King James English. Find Scourby narrated KJV New Testament Books on youtube and you are ready to begin.
God's Word is the ultimate test of your faith. If you are truly seeking God's Truth, He will reveal it to you so listen as if your life depends upon it (because it probably does). To start, set aside all time you normally devote to sermon/commentary study and divert it all to this.
    ·         Listen to all the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) first and repeat them five times in a row consecutively. ·         Then the Book of Acts five times in a row ·         Then the remainder of the New Testament Epistles (Romans all the way through Jude). Repeat them five times, ·         By this time you will be far more prepared for the Book of Revelation than you ever thought you could be. You will be assured of the Spirit's presence as you understand more and more by God's Word and God's Spirit (Like He said in John 3:8). God made clear that "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God". You will truly understand what this means as you discover new truths every time you intently listen praying for the Holy Spirit's Guidance. You will find yourself pausing the script and opening your Bible, saying to yourself - I never saw nor ever heard this before in its true context. Soon you will know that peace that HE KNOWS YOU. You will discover whether your house was built on sand (wolves in sheep's clothing doctrine) or on the Solid Rock of Christ's teachings. Soon you will clearly see every teaching of Christ rephrased, reiterated and reinforced throughout all the Epistles and Revelation. Then repeat this whole plan again and again. You will understand finally what it Scripturally means to walk with God.
Listening to His Word defines clearly every context of the Scriptures. When context is truly captured so will the definitions of every archaic word. You will see how context provides definition in every single case. After repetitive listening and walking with God in His Word, The Spirit will connect dots you never imagined before and you will see His Word from a strategic viewpoint.  The Spirit of Truth will become clear as it debunks the previous spirit of error. You may very well discover that God's Opinion differs greatly from the opinions you previously had regardless of sect or system.
If sincere, the likely affect will be that you will find yourself being freed from the system of belief or camp you were brainwashed into. AND YES, I do mean brainwashed. In most cases, this will save your eternal life. You will see that most if not all doctrine you stood so vehemently for is not found in contextual New Testament Scripture.
All I am pleading with you to do is to listen only to God's Word. Without gimmicks or opinion. There is a strong chance most who read this have never received enough of His Word, unadulterated. Even the most self-proclaimed Mature Christians typically equate Bible Study with sermon/commentary study, reverting to Scripture merely as reference instead of the Bread of Life. This is your chance to see just how far you have been led astray from God's Truth. Devote hours daily, including your commutes to this and this only. Saturate yourself in His Word and you will find the peace of God from God, not from men's plucked out, false assurances. Take this challenge, what do you have to lose?
No matter how smart you are, how formally educated, how theological you think you are, DO THIS and decide for yourself if this is or is not the KEY to everything.....
For convenience only, The New Testament recordings are consolidated here: Listen to God's Word

Back to the bylaws, most are set up with the church deciding to close, merge, re-incorporate, et.al.

If the church chooses to remain and the pastor takes the bank account (or portion thereof) without the approval of "body" as set forth in said bylaws then he is in violation of the same.

In accordance with the church bylaws.

With our church the bylaws state it is disbursed between churches, missionaries, and/or ministries of like faith severally as deemed by the congregation at closure. (after liquidation and satisfaction of all liabilities)

The problem (if I am reading your posts correctly) is that you are looking for a majority teaching from IB. This may be to either: A) Use such teaching as your means to "give an answer to every man", or B) use the results as a means to later determine whether you can (or should) stay with or withdraw from IB as a whole as opposed to an individual IBC.
I would contend that you should (and perhaps this is your intent, though it is not the impression I get from your posts) study out the subject in the Word of God. Should you go ahead and look at the various angles, explanations, logic, verses, and refutations espoused by all "camps"? Sure, but don't look at any of them on the basis of a "majority rules" decision.
Only then can you be "ready to give an answer to every man" and be "fully persuaded" in your own mind.

Due to the nature of the churches being independent in their autonomy, a percentage of what is believed, practiced or condemned by Independent Baptists (or Independent Fundamental Baptists, or Bible Believing Baptists, or Independent Bible Believing Baptists, or Unaffiliated Baptists, or Unaffiliated Independent Baptists - just to include some of the independently chosen monikers I've seen, get the idea yet? i - n - d - e - p -e - n - d - e - n - t) is not calculable (and can only be assumed) because there is not even a source that list ALL of the IBCs in the USA, much less outside of the US.

Salvation is free, reward (or loss) is due to faithfulness.
How does that relate to preparing for His coming?
1Jn 3:1  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1Jn 3:2  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1Jn 3:3  And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
