  1. My use of different color font, different size font, italicizing, etc is for emphasis! Please see comments within the above quote (there it is used to distinguish your words from mine). You asked for the math to be examined, that's what I have done (from a mathematical standpoint).
  2. 4004+1997= 6001 OR 6000 - 4004= 1996 If you want to add 21 years for Jacob's trouble (the determination for 21 is a separate question) places you at 2017AD The timeline just became skewed due to mathematical inaccuracy.
  3. Okay, all sarcasm aside. Mathematically, you must have TWO known values to find an unknown one. You did not state the method by which you determined the date of 2018 A.D. Did you use (in the calculation alluded to above) for your calendar benchmark (in order to maintain consistency) 2018 years from 0 BC / 0 AD? Did you use the Julian and/or Gregorian referencing for your BC/AD pivot point? If so, how did you handle the "Jesus born 4BC or 5 BC" dispute? Did you use this year (2018 AD) plus Ussher's chronology of a 4004 BC creation (6022 years)? Did you use the Hebrew calendar, placing us at the year 5778? Did you use the Chinese calendar, placing us at 4715 -------- oh, strike the Chinese one, I said I'd refrain from sarcasm. So, how did you determine the 2018 date and WHAT DATE did you start with? What calendar(s) did you use? Did you use both a lunar and solar year? If so, how did you handle the other 5 (or did you figure 5.25) days / year?

Missed it again, maybe I should do like the J.W.s and say He returned but it was a SPIRITUAL return.
  5. Understand from "the get-go" that I haven't read this thread. This post, therefore, has nothing to do in defense nor opposition to any contents of said thread. With all that stated: “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.” Would you care to take this sentence and show how, in the phrase "he sent and signified it", the word "signified" is used as a noun and not as the past tense of the verb (to) signify? Incidentally, Webster's 1st edition has the following concerning both etymology and definition of the verb "signify" (which you acknowledged as a verb). So the past tense of such a "making known (def #4)" would be ...? SIG'NIFY, v. t. [L. significo; signum, a sign, and facio, to make.] 4. To make known; to declare. The government should signify to the protestants of Ireland that want of silver is not to be remedied.
  6. So, met a pastor in N.GA. He set a date for a meeting without a calendar in hand. When my son was there a week later the Pastor told him, "I have your Dad coming in Sun morning 5 Aug" (again, no calendar there). Enter today (5 Aug 18), the Pastor said, "I'm not climbing the platform stairs, its too painful. After the offering is taken, the service is your's." He just had back surgery Friday (2 days ago). Oh yea, "The rest of the story....." he's 86 years old!!!!!!!!!!!

I intentionally didn't quote the whole and have contemplate editing out some of what you placed in your post. The inappropriateness of what you quoted is evident in that one word is censored (although probably not in the site page you linked) Also ------- the definition you provided coupled with your statement that he "spammed verses" implies a heathenish view of Scripture. PLUS you think copious Scripture is unnecessary????????? One more reminder (possibly the last) this is a BIBLE BASED site for CHRISTIAN fellowship. I'm not even dealing with the subject at hand (nor have I read all the posts, nor do I intend to) nor your position nor anyone else's on it --- I'm dealing with what appears to be a disdain for GOD'S HOLY WORD!!!!

Did they just "settle down"? Does that not happen anymore, in this time, in this country? Is God naive? Did God not have anything to do with these passages, it was all Paul?

You completely ignored the questions I asked, so they are again: How do you define : 1)"raised as a Christian" 2) "Christian" Identify as Christian makes one Christian? -- Chapter and Verse please. I have an aunt who identifies as Scandinavia but is of Polish ancestry. Does that make her truly Scandinavian?? I never heard my parents identify as anything, I never saw a Bible in the house, we didn't have weddings or funerals in churches, I didn't know as a child (or teen) where people obtained Bibles (nor did I care).

Wow, I know MANY people (myself included) who were NOT raised in a Christian home or with the Bible as the standard of right/wrong and yet were later confronted with the Biblical truth of their unregenerate state that could ONLY be remedied by grace through faith in the one who was made to be sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God through Him. Curious as to your definition of : 1)"raised as a Christian" and of 2) "Christian"

  16. Addressing the above scenario only: I have a friend who is a missionary in Saint Mary, AK. His wife wears dresses. I have a son working with the Russian speakers near Delta Junction, AK - his wife and daughter wears dresses. One of my daughters-in-law lived in Magadan and Krasnoyarsk Russia (both in Siberia) - she, her mother and both her sisters wore dresses. My wife and daughters-in-law wore (or wear) dresses in Kansas -- but it only dipped to a balmy 14 below zero with winds that seldom drop below 10mph.

  19. Have motorhome, currently moving into it. Had MANY loose ends to tie up, last day at my secular job is this coming Thursday. Have some things to take to our youngest (Musician4God 1611) and see grandkids, other things to deliver to a church in Arkansas. Our middle son is working on our A/V presentation but has had two major snags -- One) his f-i-l's final days on earth. Two) his computer now won't come up for him.
  20. The "worship team" must have quite the dilemma. I mean, think about it: If I turn the screen off at halftime, how do I know when to stop the service? If I leave the screen on with the sound off, will folks be distracted by the halftime show? If I leave the screen on AND the sound on, do I have conflicting songs from the "praise band" and halftime marching band? If I turn the screen off, will people be watching the halftime show on their personal devices? If I allot time for bathroom and drink breaks at the beginning and end of the service, how much time do I have without missing 3rd Qtr kick-off? If I skip the service, these people could be at home. If I skip the game, these people may very well be at home. I think I need a raise, will someone make such a motion?

The entire Eastern half of Nicaragua needs churches. yes, I'm recruiting Seriously though -- access by road (or small plane) to Puerto Cabezas or by boat (or small plane) from El Rama to Bluefields, the rest of the region is jungle or river travel. Calvary Baptist (Matagalpa) helped get a church started in El Rama. There's one in Puerto Cabezas. The rest of the region is lacking. Bluefields has 46,000 people and no Biblically sound church. The Eastern half of the country is predominately Rama and Miskito Indians and Creole Caribbean African descendants (the largest black population in Cental America is in Nicaragua with 2/3 of those in Nicaragua living in and around Bluefields). The population in Eastern half of the country are suspicious of and HIGHLY bigoted against the Western half. One reason is the political feelings of "not giving our people enough sovereignty". The other is that the blacks there are VERY racially biased against the Hispanics (not so much against whites).
