Many times it is difficult to understand another persons situation when you don't know all the facts. Therefore it is hard to make a valid suggestion about the situation. In this case I know where totoosart lives. He lives in a country where Christianity is not only banned, but the authorities actually seek out Christians and try to detect where and when they may be meeting. If the authorities find them or their meeting place there, can be life threatening consequences, in other words they could be arrested and even put to death. So this situation can have dire consequences for him if he is not extremely careful. Just owning a Bible or trying to give out Bibles can be dangerous.

You may want to investigate what the parameters of a school year needs to be in the state in which you reside.  You may also want to consider that not everyone learns the same way.  Your child may need more than the time you've allotted to master the material necessary for his/her grade.  When your children are younger, you will want to ensure that they become excellent readers and accurate mathematicians.  This can often take more time than you have specified.  Finally, March to September is a long stretch of time for a child to remember the concepts learned previously.  It seems from your statement that this is all theoretical, but nonetheless, you may want to consider other factors before cementing your ideas.

You are getting into the difference between translation methods; of which, there are three main methods...
Formal or Literal (word-for-word) Dynamic (though-for-thought) Free (the idea behind or paraphrase) The methods explain themselves.
If we want to know God's actual word(s), then we would want a Formal Equivalency (or Literal translation). Probably, the two most popular Literal translations are the King James Version and the English Standard Version (ESV). However, though both are a literal translation, one must also consider the underlying texts from which they are translated. 
Dynamic Equivalency gives what the translator's believe to be a translation based upon the overall "thought" of a passage. So, instead of translating the actual words of a text, they are translating what they think are the thoughts behind the texts. They may loosely follow the actual words, but the main thrust is the thought behind the text. Hence, the New International Version (NIV). Certainly, this type of translation method is prone to error since the translator(s) will be inserting their own interpretation.
Free translating...aka...paraphrasing is basically translating the idea behind the text...and is unhindered and unrestrained by the actual words of the text. Indeed, this type of translation method is more than prone to error. The Living Bible and The Message are two popular paraphrases. I personally refer to "The Message" as "The Massacre". :)
As to adding to God's word; the King James translators were very specific in italicizing any words that they added...words to give a clearer meaning to the text. No other version (that I know of does this). At least they were honest and forthright in what they added. As such, their "additions" didn't actually add to the word of God. There will always be some type of addition needed when translating one language into another. In fact, if one has access to the Greek, and one is able to translate the Greek, one would see that the sentence structure is quite different than that of English sentence structure. So, whereas, the King James translates word for word, it also repositions words so as to make sense to an English reader. 
In my view, it comes down to this...
God told us to study his "WORD". We are to live by his "WORD". He magnifies his WORD above his name (Psalm 138:2). In light of this, I want to know...HIS WORD. With the help of the Holy Spirit and study, I can grasp the "thought" (Dynamic Equivalency) behind his actual word(s); I can grasp the "idea" (Free paraphrasing) behind his actual word(s). I don't need someone else telling me what THEY think God's thoughts were or what his ideas were. If I have his actual words, I can get that from him. ;)

I have seen women wear dresses and skirts more immodestly than pants much more often.
Many times I think the 'modesty' question has more direction toward the mind of the man and less toward the dress code of the woman.
If us guys could contain our minds better, less questions about pants would be involved. Modesty is the point.

James Hansen was my son's LPO and friend aboard the USS Kearsarge. He and his wife often opened their doors and shared their family with those in his division. I don't believe they were saved (that is the most critical need), but they were a giving and caring family.
This is not a plea for donations, this is a plea for prayer. Please place this young family before the Lord...; God will take care of the rest, amen?!

What the first church in Jerusalem did was a matter on need in the immediate context. 3,000 had just been saved, many of them from other nations, and now they were staying in Jerusalem to learn. So a whole bunch of people with nothing needed to be cared for. Thus, the believers who could help, did so. This was not to be the permanent arrangement, however, in that Jesus had told them they would be witnesses in all the earth-so the intention was for them to learn, then move about and spread the gospel all over. So it was for then. Many others like to point to the first church and say THIS is how we should be living now, it was the arrangement the Lord intended, but in spreading out, we somehow lost something. No, the spread was commanded, such that, because they initially didn't, the Lord sent a persecution against them in Jerusalem to cause them to flee, and thus, the word was spread.

The weird thing is, I don't have a lot of pain for myself: I am secure in his going to glory and that I will see him again-rather my pain comes in thought of the pain of others over it, I hurt that my mother will hurt and my sister. But in all I think this time of waiting has been good, because it has helped my mother accept what's happening much better-shes no longer saying she's going to follow him immediately, but is making plans for a move to Louisiana with my sister and her husband and three strong strapping sons who will be able to see to caring for her-four good Christain young men, from 19-8. SO I am encouraged.

Prayers sent!  I had my gallbladder removed a couple years ago, it was the easiest surgery I've had and since it was done with laparoscopy I healed quickly. I hope your wife also will be able to have her surgery this way. 

...and not just because she's married to me.
Found out early this AM that she has an inflamed Gall Bladder that must be removed. Surgery will be some time tomorrow (9/8/15) morning. We are hoping to have her home by tomorrow evening. Please pray as you feel led. This house is (I'M) dysfunctional without her. Thanks!282

Isn't it amazing how God can place us with just the right person that will overlook all our shortcomings and key in on that little bit that is pleasing in their eye (I'm speaking of my wife looking at me). Little is much when God is in it.

I don't know anything about US politics so I don't usually comment on them.  But as regards ISIS I think that if we don't fight them where they are, we will one day (soon) have to fight them here.

Back in the 90's after 14 years active duty Navy I considered cross-rating to Religious Program Specialist (RP) and serving my remaining 6 (or more) years in the reserves. That idea quickly dissolved when I learned that the chaplain corps is not about true faith at all. Regardless your personally held faith, as a chaplain or RP you are required to cater to those of all faiths as if you were of their faith. This includes performing religious services, counseling, etc.
Could you imagine being a chaplain or RP in the Navy, (as a true and faithful Christian) and having to council someone from the Qu'ran or the Sutras? Neither could I and so I remained out. The retirement idea came at too great a cost.

I'm glad you posted this. We haven't had outside t.v. reception for years (cable, satellite, or aerial). Our total experience is either Netflix, DVDs from the local library, or an occasional Redbox movie. After a little over a year of Netflix the material worthy of viewing is getting pretty scant.
I started looking into Pure Flix last night and it looks like it has potential. My wife will look into it today and we will discuss. I really dislike spending money on something I use as little as the T.V., but there are some days, especially after a long hard day, that I only feel like vegging in front of the screen.
Isn't it a shame that we have to work so hard to find a service that offers only morally clean content? You would think that every parent would want to have nothing less for their children (not to mention for themselves). We certainly have witnessed a steep decline in values over the past 50 years.

I believe Bill Watterson best illustrated the reason for the rapid decline of America in his cartoon Calvin and Hobbes, with Calvin speaking as the average American today.
