My friend who was contacted was not the one who took the Covid test. That was his roommate. If anything, it should have been his roommate that was contacted.

Why should anyone be convinced about "the jab?" Recovery rate for the virus is 99+%....This is the first time in history that a vaccine is being pushed...a vaccine that doesn't work, by the way....as a way to "make people safer" in spite of all the evidence to the contrary! So, if you're saying we should be convinced against the vaccine...I agree. There's no evidence we should be putting this poison in our bodies.

Fair enough that the mass includes a few things, but it isn’t just a Sunday service. It includes the ritual of supposedly resacrificing Christ (“the perpetual sacrifice of the mass”) and effecting transubstantiation in preparation for the service of the Eucharist, or Communion. I don’t think the two can be effectively separated. (And people need to be warned that masses are a blasphemy, and not just a Sunday service.)
I might be off topic from the general discussion. Just wanted to clarify that what the Catholics call communion is a very different thing from what we practice.

There was a comment earlier about women making comments in their own SS class. If it’s a teaching style class, then obviously we are to listen. If it’s a discussion-style one (which I personally find to be problematic for other reasons), I don’t see any issue with women commenting. In that context, they aren’t speaking from a position of authority, and thus wouldn’t be usurping authority.

In my very early twenties, I attended an evangelical church with a discussion style class, peopled with many adults who had very little Bible training. Oh the misconceptions they could come up with! I could have spent the whole class just explaining what the Bible actually said about the topics at hand. 🙄 (Not to imply I thought I was ‘all that’ - there was just really that little Bible knowledge in the group.) I finally resorted to using the Strong’s Concordance to define words in question - that simple step could bring a discussion back on track Biblically and let the authority be the concordance instead of me. 😁 (Note that this class did not have a true leader that gave the sense of the passages; it was truly a discussion-style class. I do not recommend the style.)

Our government has stated for years that there would be "no payouts," yet we find that there WERE payouts. Not invading isn't showing weakness. We are not a part of that countries government...we have NO RIGHT to invade a country where those who've perpetrated these kidnapping aren't a part of their government. There are times to invade, and times not to. This isn't a time to invade. These missionaries knew the risks when they went to the field. Kidnapping and death are always possibilities. I'm not saying it's right, but, it's the possibility for them. There is ALWAYS some sort of governing body...It's the question of whether or nor they've abdicated their responsibility.

Oh! I didn’t realize it could do that. Hmm.

The original post I was writing was worded more strongly - although still within the bounds of my authority as a moderator. I decided that the additional words were unnecessary and would be unhelpful, so I removed them. This was not a case of trying to cover something up, but rather trying to be more circumspect with my words. (It’s a little unfair of the site mechanics to mess with that!) I’m not sure what you think forwarding that to the admins will accomplish, but I am perfectly comfortable with them reading the original wording.

Tony, you need to respect the authority of the moderators as well as the administrators. There is no practical difference when it comes to moderating site activity.

Salyan reacted to HappyChristian in Prayer for my mom, please
    Here I come again...
This morning I heard a thump from my mom's room. Called to her, didn't hear anything. She had fallen and was unconscious, bleeding badly from her mouth. Thankfully my husband had not left yet, so he came in. We could not get her to respond, didn't realize she was unconscious. She was on her stomach, with her limbs jerking and she was groaning. I will never forget that sound. We called 911.
Upshot is that she is on her way to the hospital, with a likely face fracture. Please pray for her. Nobody can be with her because of this idiotic state's "response" to the tax-payer-funded-manmade "virus.
My mom is 82, so not young. But she's in mostly great health.  My grandma died from a fall because she developed pneumonia. The paramedic told me she likely won't be left in bed, because she is mostly mobile, so chance of pneumonia isn't likely.
Thank you for praying for my precious mom.

Don't monies usually go to the church to get used as needed? Speaking from experience (church treasurer here), the church likely needs that money to pay the pastor. 😄

But that member really needs an attitude adjustment..

I don't celebrate Halloween as it seems too much of a contradiction for me to get involved with some of the things Halloween involves.
I understand the paganism in Christmas and Easter, but there some things I can celebrate in those holidays like the birth and resurrection....I haven't found anything in Halloween to celebrate yet.
I don't look at giving out tracts on Halloween as celebrating the holiday, if they are on my doorstep...they are my mission field..

    Yes, we have a batch.

I agree with BroMatt… less is more. I’ve seen churches in the states that gave $25/month - or even $10/month!! Maybe in 1969 that was worth something, but what a waste of time and resources for missionaries to have to raise support in such miserly increments.

One thing I can’t figure out is why our churches haven’t moved more toward electronic transfers for missions support. We had a couple local missionaries that our church served as the distributor for. Supporters would send Cheques to our church, which had to be mailed, deposited, recut, and mailed again. Electronic would be soooo much quicker for getting funds to missionaries in the field.

Since we just started missions not too long ago, we currently support 3. and we're adding a 4th and 5th soon.
Each church has it's own philosophy, ours it to support less with more money, then support more with little money.

So he didn't pass from Covid, he passed from the vaccine - that's actually pretty cool of the hospital to actually admit that instead of blaming it on Covid.

I've moved into senior age, which obviously means losing parents, aunts, uncles, etc. I still have my mom, praise the Lord! Lost my uncle a few weeks ago, and Randy lost one of his, too.
Yesterday I found out that my Aunt Sharon, the last of the older generation other than my mom, has covid. She is my dad's last living sibling. She is a Christian, so we know where she will spend eternity, but she is also my dad's last living sibling. She is a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother and is very active in her church. Obviously family (which includes me) doesn't want to lose her just yet.
I would greatly appreciate prayer for her healing. She was supposed to be given antibodies yesterday, but her fever is too high.
    Thank you in advance.

That's a misrepresentation. No one here is against 'modern medications.'  There are plenty of people - even prestigious doctors - who are against this particular vaccine although they are not anti-vaccine in general.  Anything like this for which the government lies about the death rate, runs a comprehensive marketing campaign, and begs, bribes or coerces people into participating in is not to be trusted.  Get it if you want - but see through their lies and divisiveness.  They're seeking to remove our liberties, and turning the people against each other. It's a very effective tool of preventing us from turning against them.
That is a good question about the JWs. They refuse blood transfusions, so if they're being consistent, they should likely refuse this. Maybe in 20 years they'll be the only ones left alive....
