Not all followed the "recommendations"  of the fellowship or association. Why?? Because they were autonomous, not having a hierarchical nature or structure.  Your experience is just that, your experience, not necessarily right, but, then again, not necessarily wrong.

Wow… I’ve never been to an IFB that’s a member of an association. In my opinion, that means they are not truly independent.

No one is saying there should never be a change - BUT IF THE REASON SOMEONE WANTS THE CHURCH SERVICE TO CHANGE IS BECAUSE THEY ARE BORED or not getting much out of it (assuming we are referring to a sound church), THEN THE PROBLEM IS WITH THAT CARNAL BELIEVER or lost person.

Being involved with preaching for years, and being an usher for more years, I know that it is stressful to just up and change the order of the church service. (And churches do occasionally change the service when there are special meetings or guest preachers.) Assuming that a pastor sought the Lord diligently when choosing how to direct the church service (overall), someone coming along later and questioning it is simply being presumptuous. The pastor is the one God gave the authority to guide and shepherd the church, not a discontented church member or visitor.

    Agree with all this.

Our church sometimes changes things up when there is a practical need, but as an organist, it really helps me to be able to anticipate what will happen next. Especially if it’s a Sunday I’m also in the nursery. And shortening/lengthening unexpectedly isn’t nice on Children’s Church workers who have prepared for the time allotted them (let me tell you about the day we had a two-hour sermon after expecting a 45-minute one! And the 20 minute sermon - wasn’t as bad, but still threw off the whole class).

Mixing things up just because is stressful to those people who have responsibilities during the service.

And as humans, we generally work better with structure. The congregation will feel more at home if some semblance of expected order is maintained.

  3. IFWIW, I think most evangelicals do not have enough understanding of the history of the churches to know what to call themselves.
I don’t personally consider Baptist churches Protestant, but I can see the Baptists who do not know their history considering themselves such. And to be fair, reformed Churches are much closer to a protestant heritage, since Calvin would be a Protestant. (He also persecuted Baptists, so there’s some interesting mingling of doctrine there!)

  4. People, please pray for us today! Now! Trudeau wants to enact the never-used Emergencies Act, which would give the federal government sweeping powers to quell any dissidence.  This Act was the successor of the War Measures Act, which was what our government used to intern German- and Japanese-Canadians during WW2.

  5. I heard some cool news today. Apparently the police at Parliament Hill had fenced off the War Memorial (cause, you know, all these ‘violent’ protestors might stick a Canadian flag on it or something ?). (Research the Terry Fox statue controversy to see what I’m referring to.) Well, a bunch of veterans got organized, came today and quietly and respectfully removed the fencing. They are now standing guard themselves at the memorial meant for them. ? ❤️

Praying for you now, and throughout your time there! I'm all for these efforts by the truckers! I believe they're right to stand up against tyrannical actions. I hope the truckers here in the States do the same. There's far too much going on that is hindering the well-being of our people. I hope and pray that these things are cleared up quickly, as my wife's job, and the jobs/livelyhoods of many others are affected by these actions. If they carry these actions on for too long, they might just find that people won't be as supportive as they are now.

Thats probably what the government is going for, but the conservatives will remain supportive. You see, the jobs and livelihoods of the unvaxed are already at risk (or lost). The cool thing about these protests and convoys is that there are a lot of vaccinated people - people whose jobs are safe! - supporting this. Because they see the loss of freedom and won’t stand for it any more.

Well, I'm proud of the Canadians. Their reputation, unlike the Russians, is to play by the rules.

You should stick with the subject instead of throwing juvenile insults around. It makes you look small.

Lol! So, to return to topic, when the Canadians are fed up enough to start breaking the rules, you know something is really wrong! ???

Since these convoys have started, I have seen more maskless faces in the stores than ever before. And the masking rules are still in place for adults here - we are just finally beginning to stop complying with tyranny.

In that video he keeps talking about a "blockade". I thought it was a simple convoy, why is he calling it a blockade? He also says it is "illegal" many many times, what is illegal about a convoy? He also said it was taking over neighborhoods....what?????

I’m not sure which video are you watching, but the convoy to Ottawa stayed there. They’re parked in the downtown core, and several parking lots around the city they were directed into. There is also a blockade at the Coutts border crossing, as well as at the ambassador bridge in Windsor. So it’s both. Nothing illegal about the downtown blockade… the border ones may be a wee bit. But the government Still. Refuses. To. Dialogue.

Now, if you would kindly get back in line like good little puppets and get your shots like good little comrades, Cho Bei-din will let you play in all the good little reindeer games again. If not, well the state has ways...

Yeah! They do! Ontario Provincial Police are now visiting people's homes who comment on the Freedom Convoy group on Facebook to provide them with state-sponsored literature on the 'right' way to peacefully protest. I can't even...
