  1. It looks to me like poor form. Is the guy in the video a member here? Is he ever likely to visit here? It appears as though you are attacking someone who is unlikely to ever visit and therefore unable to respond or defend himself. In my book that is called cowardice. And I think there is something in the board rules against bringing a fight from somewhere else to this board......

Actually, the forum rules state very clearly that only the KJV is to be used when quoting the Bible on this site. It is not the Mormon Bible - the KJV was around long before the Mormons - they do use it, but it is not theirs. Their books are pure false fantasy, but they do use the right Bible. They use it wrongly.......
  3. We call it an invitation, but it is not every week. One thing has always bugged me is when the invitation goes on and on and you eventually get the feeling that someone has gone forward just to satisfy the preacher. Make a call to invitation, if no one comes forward, close it. But allow the Lord to lead you - if you really feel as though the Lord would have you continue, then do so.
  4. I just want to point out that no one is banned from this site for promoting Jesus Christ in truth. People such as this man are banned for being argumentative, for disrespecting the moderators in particular, members in general, for teaching falsely, and for being decievers. As has been discovered, in spite of continual questioning as to his affiliation, and even being questioned directly about his association with the SDA cult, this member refused to divulge any affiliation. But he is absolutely associated with the SDA and in fact came on here with apparent purpose of promoting the SDA and their doctrines on a site that is VERY CLEARLY an Independent Baptist Site. Therefore he arrived with the purpose of teaching his false doctrine here attempting to pervert the members. It is this deceitful purpose and poor attitude that are reasons for his banning.
  5. Unfortunately we also have found virtually nothing that is sound enough doctrinally to be handed out for self study. My wife has used various studies in our ladies' meetings, but she controls the doctrinal issues - has discussed certain things with me prior to the lessons. I personally would be very wary of online content for individual study. There are so many false teachers..... Does your church not have a ladies group to accommodate such study?
  6. The altar in IB churches is a totally different thing to Catholic church altars, as I think most of understand (not all apparently....). There are two streams of Anglican churches - the High Anglican Church is Catholic without the Pope - as you described; the other stream is sometimes called the low Anglican church, most often known as evangelical Anglican - they are closer to us in general form, not as ritualistic as High Anglican/Catholic. Some of them even preach the Gospel. But in general they hold to the same basic doctrines as the high Anglican - in other words, false doctrines.

    New car!

Nah, we are all just servants to the British Empire, the Canadians just decided they don't want to be good servants...... They stopped doing what they were told but still get to play games with the rest of us.... This - and after I noted particularly that the Canadians are polite...….. And by the way, "a little wrong" was all it took to get transported in those days...... By the way, the Aussies have NEVER done what we were told by the British - especially if that Brit had a uniform on...... (To the best of my knowledge, my ancestors were all free settlers by the way, not transported convicts.)

    New car!

I was thinking about this whole subject and Salyan piping in at this point, and I wondered why it is exactly that the Canadians, who are a part of the Commonwealth (even though they aren't, but they still are....) drive their cars on the wrong side? Then it occurred to me - the Americans (the US of A Americans) drive on the wrong side and the Canadians are simply too polite to point that out to them, so in order not to offend the (US of A) Americans, the Canadians instead just decided to drive on the wrong side of the road as well. A bit strange 'eh...……... Yeah, but nice 'eh! And folks - I really appreciate that we can still have a bit of fun and silliness - it is necessary sometimes..... Oh yeah - is it strange to anyone else that my "New car" is 15 years younger than my "for ever car", but still 18 years old? I think the old Cruiser is now classified as a "Modern classic"....

    New car!

    I don't know.... THIRD BASE!
  10. DaveW

    New car!

Of course it is. Our steering wheel is on the right, and that means that our drivers are on the right (not that they are always right - we have some terrible drivers over here) and having the driver on the right is the right place for the driver to be because that puts the driver in the middle of the road not on the edge, and that is the right place to be even though that means the car is on the left but the driver is on the right, and that means that the driver is in the right place on the right and in the middle even though he is on the left, but that is right because it is safest.
  11. DaveW

    New car!

No no - the steering wheel is on the right side, not the wrong side like you guys... The right side is the right side, otherwise it would be the wrong side because the left side isn't the right side, and if it isn't the right side it must be the wrong side, and that would be wrong not right, so we have the steering wheel on the right not the left so it will be right not wrong. And yes, it does have tyres..... no idea what these tires are that you mention...... And I must be right because all of my cars are the same - well the cars are all different cars but the same in respect to the steering wheel being in the right place on the right not the wrong place on the left, and they all also have tyres not tires. Oh and one more thing - only the landcruiser runs on gas - the Mondeo runs on petrol, the pug runs on diesel, and the Landcruiser is dual fuel able to run on both gas and petrol.
  12. DaveW

    New car!

Oh let's not start that again..... The steering wheel is on the right side of the car - end of story.........

    New car!

Body is good in the panels - front and rear bumpers both have a crack in them, and the paint has been 'repaired' poorly. But it has 160k kms on the clock - about 100k miles. Not bad for an 18 year old car. And it feels way tighter than 18 years. Happy with it, especially for the dollars.

    New car!

At your request: Ford Contour or Mercury Mystique to you guys. 2.5ltr V6, 5 speed manual - sounds a lot better than I though it would actually. Once I get the plates on it I will be able to give it a good drive and find out a bit more about it. Oh yeah - the Old Cruiser is parked up in the carport - 1985 FJ62 Toyota Landcruiser - our forever car, the plan is to tour with it in the future, and enjoy a bit of off-roading meantime. The Little Pug next to the Mondeo belongs to my oldest son - beautiful little car - Turbo Diesel and so nice to drive.
  15. Yeah, this always makes me laugh when people claim persecution when in fact they have just been stupid or mean or illegal. I remember a guy once trying to claim that the speeding ticket he got was persecution for being a Christian - he didn't like it much when I pointed out the speeding ticket was given because he was speeding - even if the guy didn't like Christians he can't give a speeding ticket unless you are speeding (and the guy admitted he was speeding so...) When people are aggressive, mean spirited, or deceitful then claim that they are being persecuted for their beliefs - simply not true - they are being persecuted for being aggressive, mean spirited, or deceitful......
  16. I was interested at how long he had been a member when I noticed that his post count was 76 - so I visited his profile and his joined date was three days earlier - it may actually have been less than 72 hours, but that is three days total. I was blown away by it too...…
  17. This is really interesting - have you seen Jerusalem lately - anything but desolate - one of the most productive and fertile areas on the planet that God's people are back in God's Land. And strangely that greening of Jerusalem has coincided with the ever growing return of God's people. The more that return the greater their prosperity. Actually it is not that strange: Interesting that ONCE AGAIN, the Bible shows that you are wrong..... Eze 36:28-38 (28) And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. (29) I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you. (30) And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen. (31) Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations. (32) Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel. (33) Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded. (34) And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by. (35) And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited. (36) Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it. (37) Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock. (38) As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD. And before you go on the whole argument trail about not all of Israel turning back to God in this return - the pertinent point is that it plainly says that Jerusalem WILL BE PROSPEROUS once again - the city which YOU CLAIM (Falsely) will be "a forever desolate city".
  18. Something like 76 post in 72 hours...... I know that over years I have been on forums that have new member restrictions such as no pictures until a certain post count, no "for sale posts" until a certain time on the board (Car based forums - stops people joining just so they can post a free add, then never again). There are many possibilities, but not all of them are even available on all forum software, so there are limitations there. And even limiting post length can be sidetracked by posting loads and loads of shorter posts. I think ideally there would be away to stop people posting "teaching" type threads until they are established members, but how to do that is the issue. Personally, I think that an addition to the rules regarding "teaching" on this forum would be a good start, but I don't really know how to word it so that it would be workable. It does need to include something about the affiliation of any prospective teacher though - it is not unreasonable to expect to know the doctrinal background of any prospective teacher - I know this is not a church, but as a community many of the rules would apply, and not one of us would let an unknown take a pulpit at the church we attend. (And we assume our Pastor has done that check for us!)
  19. This sort of thing has been discussed before and I am 100% certain that the mods/admins appreciate the suggestions. I can tell you that the mod group have and are considering things in relation to this issue. I made a suggestion privately and have been told they are. Without wanting to discourage people from making suggestions (someone may come up with the perfect solution), I want to ask people to ALSO be aware that our mods are on the job - they are not ignoring it. (And I also do not suggest anyone in this thread is being critical of the mods).
  20. You can't witness to a Muslim by lying about what the Bible says. He might just go and read the passage, find that you are lying about the passage, and you have blown your testimony with him, and ruined any chance that he will come to the Lord.
  21. Oh yeah, I meant to add this too. I care about what the Bible ACTUALLY SAYS, and in Matt 2:15 - incidentally the ONLY passage that you reference to say that Jesus is Israel - in Matt 2:15, where the Bible quotes the Hosea passage, the Bible leaves out the use of the name "Israel". This is significant in that we all know that Hosea is referencing the escape of the nation from Egypt. Prophetically Hosea is referring to Jesus returning after his family flees Herod's attempt to kill Him, BUT, - and it is a very important but - the Matthew passage DOES NOT USE THE NAME "ISRAEL" WHEN SPEAKING OF THE FULFILLMENT of the prophecy. Arguing about God being outside time is irrelevant - what is important is the words that are used in the Bible. And it never says that Jesus IS Israel.
  22. In the first place, you are the one defending a false argument not me - you need to actually answer what has been asked of you, and secondly, you are only asking me questions to confuse the issue. This is is an irrelevant argument that is designed to avoid the truth. It has nothing to do with my statements except to avoid the fact that you are wrong. Go back and look again at my answer to your false claim and answer the fact that the Bible NEVER says that Jesus IS Israel. Then maybe we can address the new false information that you are trying to introduce, that the everlasting covenant was not given to the nation of Israel...... So now we have two separate false issues that you are teaching, that you are then basing whole doctrines on, but in both cases your basis is false and that means what you build on that false foundation has no BIBLICAL BASIS. I am refusing to answer your questions because you are basing them on a FALSE PREMISE of your own making. I am not answering your questions because they are designed to avoid the truth that you are a false teacher. I am not answering your questions because you refuse to give us even the most basic information about your doctrinal bias and affiliation. Jesus IS NOT ISRAEL according to the Bible.

    New car!

Well, new to me anyway. Our old roundabout car has been less than reliable of late and I finally gave up on it. It was a 1997 Chrysler Neon (Dodge or Plymouth to you guys but sold here as a Chrysler). It was fun, but had a few issues which I couldn't solve. Anyway, I found a 2000 Ford Mondeo st24, which I think was sold in the US as the Ford Contour. It was unlicensed and the rules here are pretty strict but it seemed in good nick. Offered the guy $500 for it. He wanted $750, but he took my offer. A week of fiddling and another $80 for seat covers and it passed inspection today. There are all sorts of costs involved 8n the inspection process, but all in it has me about $900 including purchase price, and these are valued at $3000. So I am happy and it is a really nice car albeit 18 years old. Drives almost like new, has ABS, four front airbags, traction control, and a really good set of tyres. Sporty version too, so I can still have some fun. I know it is not in the least bit spiritual, but to be honest, the Lord has supplied this for us. If anyone genuinely cares I will try to add a photo, but hey.... it is a car - you all know what they look like.
  24. Just going to ignore the fact that you have proposed a falsehood with regard to Dan 9:27? Ignore and carry on regardless? You sir have no foundation to stand upon, and yet you continue to try to build.
