I believe it has already been tithed upon, so anything given to the Lord from it is an offering.

Nothing.
If you can't respect your king (as long as he doesn't make you do things that would be against the bible, of course), you are going to have a hard time respecting the King of all kings. beside the article says: James wanted a Bible free of political and theological notes.
James was not sinlessly perfect. He did many despicable things. History bears out some of his cruelties. Why does respecting an earthly leader carry over to my sinless God? God's way is perfect. James's was not. I do not have to respect James (besides all that, he is not my earthly authority...he's dead.) -
This is a Independant Fundemental Forum. A Forum for fellowship amongst Bible Believing Brothers and Sisters, that hold true to the Biblical Doctrine .... The Doctrine of Jesus The Christ. This is not a Fight Forum, but a Fellowship Forum. I praise the Lord and pray daily that I walk according to His path and not my own. And I pray not only does He give me the strength to be a witness in word, but my actions also. Because the world is always watching how we behave, everywhere that we are. So I will not go about things in a fleshly manner, which is easy to do. I will go about things in a Spiritual manner, which Spirit is not my own but Christ Jesus inside of me. I praise the Lord for pulling the sins by the roots that hinder my walk with Him. I praise the Lord for sending another brother on here to me. To remind me that this is not fruitful and is not of His ways. So, I will continue to give the glory to God and strive to please Him alone.
Takecare and God bless to the Saints

James 1:19-27 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
The OP is about Easter. You are prating about discussing your own righteousness. I believe this thread has been hijacked. Perhaps if you want to compare your good deeds to that of others on this board, then you should start your own thread and let this one get back on topic. If you want to prove that Vir is an infidel, then go ahead and try. However, you do not know him. You do not know what he does in the way of visiting the fatherless and the widows.
How about back to topic, Ezra? -
I voted 50-60% but then I thought' date=' 100%. All my prayers get answered, its just sometimes He says no, sometimes yes, and sometimes maybe/not yet.[/quote']
Yes, but he specified those prayers that are answered the way you wanted. -
Well, I have never actually kept a log of prayer answers.
I have to say that some prayers are answered in the affirmative pretty quickly. Others are answered in the affirmative many days later.
I personally am just not able to quantify the answer.
In this past week, as far as immediate answers, at least half of them are so. -
The New Scofield is not a KJV (ie. they changed the text' date=' by incorporating the marginal notes into the text).[/quote']
Wow, I had not heard that. That's too bad. -
Scofield isn't KJ
Mine is. I'm not sure what you mean. -
A lot of people in our church like the Defender's Bible which was done by Henry M. Morris.

And why is it when us "guests" are quoting something--it doesn't do it right' date=' but it did for you?[/quote']
well, I am logged in now, so the quote thingy works for me. Other than that, I don't know. -
How did you do it?
well, I refreshed the browser and it jsut worked. I don't know. cleaning cookies and temp folders and all that other stuff didn't work. -
whoa! I'm in!

I selected 'Independent Fundamental Baptist,' but technically that is not a denomination.
Independent = Non-denominational (hopefully) :frog
Yeah, what salyan said. -
Hmmm...I see them, but I guess I don't really pay much attention to them. There might have been one when I first came on... :uuhm:

The thing is to get them away from the presentation, especially Mormons.
Once you get a Mormon off his prepared script, they don't have a clue what to say.
In fact, more often than not (and I used to talk to a lot of Mormons), they'll probably get so frustrated that they'll get mad at you.
Lol, they did get irritated with me. She said, "Well, it's good to see that you are very involved in your beliefs. We are just out looking for those who aren't."
I kept them longer after that statement. :tum -
I had some JW's not too long ago, and I kept them at my door as long as I could. I focused on the newbie. :lol
The thing you have to watch for is that everytime they come back, they have honed their presentation to fit what the Christian's gave them last time around. -
No' date=' what I mean is, with the Abeka DVD program, you [b']have to buy everything they say; it comes all together in a kit. If I do this for my K5 student (son) next year, I will be buying stuff I already have from my K5 student (daughter) this year.
I would love to buy the stuff at a discount - like I said, my local Christian bookstore has a huge homeschooling recycling center where I can get most of what I need at 50% off.
However, if I go with the DVD program, I have to buy what comes with the program. I don't see an option for just renting the DVDs alone.
Hmmm, well, I do know that when I was still teaching, our school was pretty small and we rented the vhs programs. Maybe you could call and find out if they have that available.
It would be a drag to have to rebuy everything you already have. -
It totally depends upon the baby. Friday and Saturday nights she slept all night. Whoo Hoo! Last night it was about 5 hours total.
-
That I don't know, Bakers. Check EBay if you have to re-buy the readers, but I don't know why you should if she's going into first grade. My son hasn't reused any of his kindergarten things.
-
I'm seriously considering using the DVD program next year for all of my kids. However, the only option for writing in Kindergarten is cursive. Does anyone know if they ever teach manuscript to the children?
Additionally, my daughter will be in 1st grade next year. I taught her manuscript this year but the DVD program for next yera is cursive. Is she going to have a problem?
I know you can still order the manuscript tablets from ABeka. What I'm going to do when Sarah hits kindergarten is teach her both, whether ABeka offers it still or not.
I don't think she will have trouble with learning writing in 1st grade. They start out pretty slowly with it in 1st grade as a reminder anyway. You can always order extra tablets and practice with her. -
Welcome newbie! :Bleh Have fun here. :thumb
Welcome to OB and never mind Marcus. He's still a newbie himself. :tum -
Ban Vir because I have been waiting for this moment for a verrrry long time. :cool

Sound like by the time my children will get to the college level we will most likely have a decision on the matter of homeschool diplomas.
I'm not sure about other states, but in Oregon, the trend toward non-traditional education is huge. There is a reason for that but lawmakers don't want to admit it.
We instituted here a program called CIM--certificates of initial mastery. Our public school students have to pass these compulsory tests in order to be eligible to graduate from high school on time. They were shoved down our throats; they told us that these would make our children more desirable to companies as employees.
Problem 1: states outside Oregon couldn't care less. Universities outside Oregon felt the same way.
Problem 2: employers inside Oregon didn't care either.
Instead of scrapping the program, however, the students are still forced to pass them. So we have more and more students going to parochial schools, homeschools, and alternative schools. -
Today is his first court date in the separation hearing. In South Carolina, there is a one year waiting period before a divorce can take place.
For some of you, you will need an explanation. His wife went into gross immorality and left him with the kids. He is filing for separation to protect them since she has already introduced them to her alcohol and her boyfriend. She has told them how much fun she is having.
Pray for him as he goes through the pain of her actions against their marriage today. Pray for a wise judge. -
an article on the front page of the Oregonian today was just for us! Just a warning, the last page of the article tells of the young lady's living arrangements which we consider to be sin.

One question I have about this...
Since Satan would have no man saved, how is it that you meet people everyday who have been saved using something other than the KJV? Are you saying they cannot truly be saved?
My husband works with a man who uses something other than the KJV, but is growing in Christ at a phenominal rate. He, in the last 6 weeks has returned to church, stopped swearing, and started behaving like a believer ought.
If they--the modern versions-- are truly satanic counterfeits, how is God working in people like this man? Is this man only deceived into thinking he's a believer? Are these changes not real?
