    Recognizing old quality castiron cookware.

As long as I can touch it (don't have to see it), the weight relative to size and the "texture" of the iron is enough to identify the craftsmanship that went into the piece. While a bit harder, even pieces coated with years of cooking "crud" give clues to what lies underneath. Listening to a piece will reveal hidden cracks.

This comes from actually cleaning and restoring old pieces, some my own and others from friends.

Old gate-marked pieces (the mark resulting from pouring molten iron into a mold) that don't carry a foundry's trademark have an interior so smooth it rivals modern non-stick. These pieces, often from the 1850's or so, have withstood the test of time. Modern non-stick tends to become useless through usage, while the old CI continues to improve with age.

The KJB is like an early Griswold skillet, much sought after by collectors. It has withstood the test of time and is well seasoned through use. The craftsmanship, when this skillet was poured at the foundry, is not being duplicated today by any producer anywhere, today.

With all the false teachings and beliefs regarding death and the afterlife, many of these people actually think if they kill their family and themselves they will all somehow be together in their idea of heaven or paradise and "live" happily ever after.

While many try to deny it, those who live in America today are in as much need of having the Gospel taken to them as anyone in any other nation. Sad to say, but in a nation flooded with Bibles, churches, TV and radio ministries and millions of professing Christians, there are yet millions in America who have never read from a Bible, never heard the Gospel, and are as far from the Lord as any heathen in deepest Africa or India.

I can testify to that. It's been amazing what's happened in my life since I finally "listened" and stopped being a lukewarm Christian who wasn't even sitting on the back pew of a church for many years.

No, I haven't won the lottery or inherited a fortune from a long lost relative. God blesses each of us with what we need in our lives when it's our turn to "do" for Him. Better half and I were becoming hermits after we retired. About the only time we saw other people were the dreaded trips to the grocery store or when a neighbor would stop by for a few minutes. The latter didn't happen often, either. All of that changed, when one of those neighbor's invited us to church.

Twice, in fact, he offered the invitation. Today, I thank God, we listened to the person who turned out to be His messenger, two years ago. Through His messenger, He brought us into a Baptist church (neither of us were Baptists) to hear His word, again. Today, our lives are richly blessed in too many ways to number as we answered the call to serve Him. Being here, this morning, to testify about the impact He's had on our lives, is just one of those blessings.

Thank God for the blessings He bestowed on the young man in the OP. Thank God for blessings of renewal and growth in our walk of faith. Thank God for the same thing He's doing for others who will "listen" and "do" for Him, when it's "their turn".

Yes, that's my major concern. The bills are very poorly written, giving far too much power to the government and opening wide the doors of abuse that could bring about instant censorship of the internet. If passed, these as law could eventually used to shut down Christian websites and those of political opponents and those posting speech the government doesn't want heard.

As written, all this can be done whether a person or group is guilty or not. The hoops that could easily be set up for one to prove their innocence could be prohibitive to most.

If the bills were written in a way they truly only targetted those engaged in piracy, and targetted them in accord with the Constitution, then I could support them. As they are now, they are unconstitutional, therefore illegal, and they are very dangerous and should be opposed.

    Name three super models.
God knows more supermodels names than I do, if fact he know every single one. Does that mean God failed the Carnality Test? He did not even make it past the first question.

I've missed the point. I don't see how comparing usage of wordly tools is a measurement of anything. (As kittagirl showed) Much more effective to ask the question based on Godly standards.

Jesus never held a full time job, but lived as a poor man off of nothing but donations. I guess when we are saved we should all quit our jobs and go into full time service. Jesus never owned a home (Mat 8:20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.) so none of us Christians should tie ourselves to this wicked world by owning a home or land.

The example of Jesus is he never owned and these in acts when they got closest to God they sold there homes and land. You don't know of any Christians who are so far away from putting their full faith in God that they feel a need to be tied to this wicked world by owning a home do you Jerry?

What is wrong with incentive? People work for incentive, people lose weight for incentive, play sports, serve in church, etc.

One incentive given in Scripture for getting right with God is to avoid the torments of hell. Incentives are given to live for Christ...we are told we will reap abundantly if we sow the same way to His cause, we are told we will be rewarded with certain crowns for certain service which we will have the honour of giving to Christ, we are told we will be rewarded with eternal life. All these are incentives.

I don't know how Weight Watchers works today, but I know some people who used it years ago and the incentives they gave for success was an added motivation. That doesn't mean they weren't relying upon God to give them strength.

This contest is more like getting a bonus for doing what you need to do anyway. Companies give out incentive bonus' all the time.

By this reasoning we should not accept any compensation for anything we do. We should not accept Social Security because that's one of the incentives to work and send money to the government. We should not work for pay because pay is an incentive to work. We shouldn't accept an employee of the month award or an employee of the month parking space. We should not accept promotions, whether in pay, rank, title or other matters, as those are used as incentives. When raising children we should give them no incentive to do right.

Christ is our all and all good things come from God. If we win a contest, get a pay raise, receive an award, they are gifts from God, not a matter of our own efforts.

Jesus even challenged the disciples to be servants with the incentive that such reaps rewards in heaven.

God gave the Israelites incentive to obey His Word, telling them if they did as He said that He would rain blessings upon them.

A friend/neighbor of mine is having a baby. She's also my pastor's daughter-in-law. It will be the couple's first child and my pastor's first grandchild. She was due last week so hopefully she has the baby soon and everything goes well.
