I've talked with my son about doing that! LOL. He's too young yet to sit up right, so we'll see in a couple months or so.
Tonight after we finished the last song, Asher said "aaayyyy..." Whether copying the sound of the last word in the song or being happy we were done, I don't know. lol

Divorce was actually simple among the poor in Victorian England because nobody cared. It was the upper class of society where it was near impossible. I've read stories of men literally divorcing their wives at a pub on the spot and marrying her off to another man for a pitcher of beer. She would be more than willing too.
By the time of Jesus polygamy was outlawed by the Romans. The Greeks despised it too.
I believe the Sadducees were asking Jesus a loaded question that could either make him look like he opposed Moses or on the flip side opposed Roman law.

Besides, the group asking Jesus (Sadducees) didn't believe in the resurrection. They were testing him.

Jesus said "let not man put asunder..."  Saving for the exception clause, divorce is not something God wants...so if God doesn't want divorce, it should then follow that marriage is until death. Right?

I am grateful for my children and grandchildren. When I know that they are active participants in good churches and practice their values in the home.
3 John 4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

HappyChristian reacted to Rebecca in Typhoon Haikui aftermath
On Sunday Typhoon Haikui, a category 3 typhoon, hit Taiwan. This is the first typhoon to directly impact Taiwan in four years, and it has caused quite a bit of damage. The path of the storm went directly over the little village my parents used to live, and I currently live about 30 minutes south, so we got the brunt of the storm.
Several praises: I'm fine and my house wasn't damaged too badly, the tiles from a neighbors house did some damage to my overhang and there is a leak in one of the bedrooms, but otherwise that's it. The pastor I'm working under, Pastor Pan and his wife Deana are living in the house my parents used to own. The house is fine (although without power, but another neighbor loaned them a generator!), and their family is fine, as well as all my friends. Praise God for his protection!
Prayer requests: Cleanup is overwhelming. I don't have as much to clean up as the Pan family or some of my friends who live in that same village. The Pan family lost a lot of trees, some of which had sentimental value as they were planted by my dad. They're going to try to save some of them. Their chicken coop lost its roof, and the fence around their property was flattened. My other friend has had some damage to their house and will be a little difficult to clear away some of the larger debris, such as a water tower. Some missionaries on the other side of Taiwan have offered to come over to help with cleanup, which will be a blessing. Just pray for us as this process is exhausting, both physically and emotionally.

That was posted on facebook by a dear friend of mine.
Actually, no, it wasn't offensive at all. You're in a church setting, saying things you know most of your hearers agree with and everybody clapped at the end. But I can tell you how to make it offensive. Define the "nuclear family" with the man as the "head", like the King James does, and by all means relate his roles as "loving his wife", "giving himself" and "providing" like the King James does. Then don't stop short like you just did. Define the wife as being "subject" and her role as "submitting" and "obeying". I wonder of they would clap for you then? And just so everyone knows, I treasure my Wife and don't treat her like a "doormat".  But many pastors treat their men like "doormats" while getting lots of admiration from some of the ladies. I wonder about such men. Maybe many are just simply afraid to proclaim the whole counsel of God?
Ephesians 5[22] Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. [23] For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. [24] Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
"Nuclear families" have long been and are being destroyed because everything is out of order.

I want to share some changes we've made to our software to keep our community safe.  It's all about reporting content that might have nudity or explicit stuff in it. Here's the deal: If you come across anything that contains nudity, you can now report it as nudity. When only one member does that, the software will automatically hide that content from public view. Our Mods will then take the necessary steps for banning . This change is all about making sure our Online Baptist family-friendly and faith-centered environment stays that way. We really appreciate your help in keeping our site clean and suitable for everyone.
Thanks for being a part of Online Baptist and helping us make it a place where we can all grow in our faith. If you have any questions or concerns about this update or anything else on our platform, feel free to let me know.
Thank you to everyone who reported the latest member. This new tweek will remove the content even faster now. God Bless. It's sad that we even have to have this conversation. ?

Repentance is Biblical and essential to being saved, as many passages state. It is not either/or. There is no salvation apart from repentance. The Bible teaches BOTH repentance and faith. The issue is when we define repentance in an unbiblical way.
Repentance is not the outward turning from sin that comes as we walk with the Lord - it is the inward changing of mind towards sin and the Saviour* (otherwise, why look to the Saviour if you are not sorry or convicted of your sins and believe you need the Saviour to wash them away?) that will result in the outward change - but repentance is not that outward change. If it was, that would be works.
Look up the different forms of the word “repentance” (ie. repent, repented, repentance, repents), and see how it is used in the Bible. Every time it always results in a changed life - if it is true repentance. The only exception is Judas, who it says “repented himself” - it was not repentance towards God (as he did not get saved), but was regret for the consequences of his actions.
*Another Biblical term we find in regards to turning to the Lord and having our sins forgiven is “confess(ion)”, as mentioned in 1 John 1:9; Romans 10:8-9, and Proverbs 28:13 (though a different underlying word is used here). It means “to agree with, be of one mind with.” In these contexts, it is referring to being of one mind with the Lord, agreeing with Him and His Word about what He says regarding my lack of righteousness, my sinfulness and my need for the Saviour. That is both what the OT Law did (showed us our sinfulness and need of the Saviour, by showing us that we broke God’s Law and we needed someone to pay sin’s price), and the ministry of the Holy Spirit as stated in John 16:7-11, to convict of sin, righteousness, and judgement.
The Bible teaches there will be good fruit in a true believer’s life - though it does not say how much, what kind, or how soon they bear fruit. If they never bear good fruit somewhere along the way, then they were never saved, according to multiple passages.
