  1. So labor started early this morning. She was having a home birth. But Asher's heart rate dipped, so they had to get her to the hospital (ambulance came). She is currently undergoing a c-section, so any time now Asher will make his appearance.
  2. My son and dil wanted a name that had a special meaning. This one means blessed. I like it - I like names that aren't everywhere. Still nothing on the baby front.
  3. Awww...I bet he was great! ? No news...she was in church today, nothing happening. Our members all chose dates for end of April for Asher's birth - whoever was correct Grandma and Grandpa DePriest were gonna take out to dinner. But, since he's now officially late, we did it again. This time, the theme was "I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date." heehee...we shall see if he makes an appearance soon. It's not uncommon to go 10 days to two weeks late on the first baby. So I chose Mother's Day. lol
  4. For our anniversary last year, we traveled down to CA. We stayed one night in Crescent City, and then went to the Trees of Mystery tour. It's a really neat set up where folks can walk the area and see all kinds of trees and other things. OF course, the trees are Redwoods. Hubs and I had a wonderful time. This photo is a shot of a candelabra tree. If you look closely, you can see that the fallen tree has several trees growing out of it. The fallen tree is not dead, either. Truly a cool sight!
  5. 2019, just 5 days before my husband's slip and fall. It is sunny today, and warm (will be warmer than yesterday). I want NO SNOW, but I do love a snowy tree pic.
  6. Nothing yet.... Today is the official due date. But we all know babies "due" when they're gonna do! ?
  7. I saw that picture of you with him. Such happy grandpa! I imagine Trish is over the moon also. Thank you both for praying.
  8. Well, tomorrow is the official due date for our grandson. I am so excited my tummy hurts. lol. I cannot wait to hold the little booger. If you think about it, could you pray for a safe delivery and health for both mommy and baby? Thanks in advance.
  9. So sorry for your family's loss, and am thankful for their salvation.
  10. Yes, sadly sin doesn't pick and choose who it slays. ?
  11. We have no Sam's Club near us, so we can't enjoy their deals. But we sure do like Costco for a variety of things. It really helps being able to buy in bulk for the church. As well as ourselves, of course. lol
  12. My mom used to love Costco hot dogs. She'd get one when she went shopping. I don't care for them, but they were cheap. The pizza at Costco is a bit more pricey, but a slice and drink is still inexpensive compared to most places around here. And the slice is pretty large. Hope your MRI went ok. Don't know what's for dinner tonight. Probably something with ground beef (we've got fresh beef, so it's SO tasty!). BTW, have you ever tried cauliflower crust pizza? I know it sounds weird, but my hubs loves it. He has to watch his grain intake due to diabetes, but there is a particular brand of cauliflower pizza he gets from Costco that has 2 in a box that he really enjoys. I don't like the sauce, but the crust is really, really good.
  13. Hubs and I took an extended drive around highway 101 on our peninsula in 2021. We took a lot of pictures. I got quite a few of the Hoh rainforest. But this one...it is called the Tree of Life. If you look at it, you can see that it doesn't seem to have any base of support or place for its roots. Of course, we know that it is rooted or it would die. But it is unique. And while not typical, I think it is beautiful. God's creation is amazing, even in sin cursed world! This shot shows underneath the tree so you can see it looks like it's hanging.
  14. I'm glad I did go. To several. lol When one is considering college of any kind (secular/Christian, university/community/..) if one is a Christian prayer and counsel is necessary. This is where knowledge of the doctrines and practices of colleges comes in handy. It is actually very easy to find out if a Christian college teaches something that would draw one away from the Lord. Graduates many times are a clue, although there are times graduates of mediocre colleges go on to shine brightly. I would agree that care needs to be taken. But the same would be said - and more so in this day and age - of attending secular college.
  15. Oh, knock off the whining about being judged. In a discussion forum, ALL comments are judged. Just as you judged me as possibly presuming. I should ask a question? I don't need to, thanks. When you make reference to something you've been asked not to, it is obviously a work around, whether or not you say it is. Just don't do it anymore and that aspect of "judging" will be over. No, you didn't say his parents were in "any particular sin," but you did say "This verse appears to refer to the sin of the parents carried through at conception..." Context shows that to be wrong. I know why we are born sinners. And I know that David recognized it as being passed down via conception. You know, kinda like what I said when I said he was talking about we are all born sinners...perhaps that is what you intended with your comment about the sin of the parents, but it didn't come off as that. Ergo it seemed you were saying his parents were sinning when they conceived him. There is a cadre of people who believe that to be the case (that they were sinning when he was conceived). The accounts of the creation of Adam & Eve and the Valley of Dry Bones have nothing to do with the conception of a baby, no matter how you might try to twist them. Ecc. 11: 5 has nothing to do with either of those occurrences. Dovetailing of scripture is necessary for rightly dividing. But to take disparate instances and try to make them dovetail is not rightly dividing. Where did you presume about pride? Oh, mayhap in your comments on humility. You know, in the excerpt from your book. Where it seems (now, this is presumption on my very-educated mind part) that you are saying if folks don't agree with you, there's no unity because there is pride. On their parts. If you didn't intend that, there was no need for you to add it to the discussion. Because it gives the appearance that you are saying if folks disagree with you they are prideful.
  16. Ok TGL. I know you're trying for a bit of humor here, but it falls flat. We know that sodomy is an abomination to God. Regardless of what the world calls it, there is no marriage between two of the same gender. I am locking this because it is distasteful at best.
  17. Beautiful, TGL! The attached photo is from our back yard. Taken when smoke from forest fires were clearing up a couple years ago.
  18. Actually, King James wanted the baptistic view of government kept out...in the Geneva (which is actually the closest to KJV), notes were included that pointed out that kings were not divine. Puritans were Anglican. Their view of the church was the same as his, except that they felt there were some remnants of Catholicism in the Anglican church. That was what they wanted removed from church practice. They remained faithful to the central doctrines of the Anglican church. I agree that one can study the KJV and, in context, find out what is meant. This is one area where we can see that the KJ translation (though guided by God) is not inspired, but is preserved. There is a major difference. bluewater, when you look into the history of Bible translations, you will find that the source text is at issue. Corrupt texts were used to translate modern versions. That is wherein the problem lies.
  19. Apparently Benson doesn't understand the difference between soul and spirit. And I removed your oblique reference to the ESV...please do not try to get around forum rules by bringing in other versions - EVEN IN JUST A PASSING COMMENT. Psalm51:5 is NOT referring to the sin of the parents. Good grief - David's parents were married to each other. There was no sin on their parts. Context is key...David is obviously talking about the fact that we are all born sinners. You are twisting scripture and trying to apply where it does not. The Valley of Dry Bones has nothing to do with birth/conception/abortion. When God created Adam, He was not setting a precedent for conception. He created both Adam and Eve as grown adults. To try and apply their creation to conception is eisegesis at its worst. Oh, and just another caution: do not presume that those who oppose your viewpoint are being prideful.
  20. Robert, I'm not going to quote your previous post as I don't want to repeat the non-KJV verses you have used. While I realize you are not KJV, the board is. Please change the verses you quoted so that they are KJV...I will give you time to do so but if it's not done in a timely manner, I will delete the post. And please respect the board by refraining from quoting other versions besides the KJV. That said, I totally disagree with your comment on "early abortion." Abortion is murder from the get-go. Period. God gives life and it takes place immediately upon conception. Ergo, any abortion is murder. At any time in the pregnancy.
  21. Wrong. Abuse of freedom is abuse of freedom. Period. Abuse of something is not because there's too much of it. It is because of a perversion of whatever is being abused. The ELECTED are SERVANTS, not lords. We the People need to step up and stop the nonsense. Anything else is tyranny.
