I'd love to see God bless America with revival. "Too much freedom" does not bring chaos. What brings chaos is when freedom turns to licentiousness. Which is what is happening in America.

In person services are great. But for those who can't make it to church, online services are good. My hubs does not post online (he did a few during the plandemic), but does not preclude ever doing it. The church where we were in IN is online, and we enjoy the services at times. There's a lot of good preaching out there, but there's a lot of bad preaching out there, too. One needs to be careful.

I've seen that tract before. Have not used it, but it's good. I am currently teaching the "wordless book" in Sunday School. It is simply colors - gold is the end of the book (although it is the first lesson), and it speaks of Heaven because of the street of gold. The lesson goes into detail of what is NOT in heaven (sun, moon, lights, sin and its results), and what IS in Heaven (the saved, the street of gold, crystal river, Jesus, etc). The next lesson is the black page. I emphasize that it is only black because that is dark...sin is actually red, according to scripture, but the third lesson is the red page. So...the black page represents sin. The lesson goes back to the first sin and the fact that we cannot get to Heaven because of sin. The red page is the crucifixion, the white page the resurrection. The two together team to teach that Christ washes our sins white as snow. Then we review the gold page. The green is growth. That is the lesson this Sunday. It's a very good tool to use to present the gospel. Not just to kids - we led a 100 year old woman to the Lord using the gospel colors. The kids will each receive a small book so they can use it to tell others. It is actually a good thought to keep in mind because we are to pattern our lives after Christ.

We began doing some renovations back in 2020. Just before the plandemic hit. Well, due to the small size of our church, and the inabilities of some of our men (two of them are nearly blind), we are still at it. Hubs is the one doing all the painting, so that has to be done around his schedule, which sometimes gets hectic. But he's kept plodding and now the only painting left to be done is to finish up the kids' Sunday School room and his office. After some false starts, the flooring is being laid today! We decided to put carpet in the library (which will double as a nursery if needed...you know, my grandson ?) and in the kids' room. We thought that might help dampen a bit of noise. The carpet won't be laid until May, so I can't get the library set back up yet. I'm really looking forward to that!

So our men were able to do some work at the church today after their breakfast. It's been raining quite a bit here, and the forecast was for rain. So we've been praying for dry weather for today and tomorrow (for our candy scramble). We are thankful!

DeSantis isn't a bully. He's a constitutionalist (at least, more so than most pols today). I don't see them together because DeSantis would outshine Trump in the long time. However, remember Trump and Pence...until the election mess, they worked well together even though they seemingly were so different.

"Education" factories (aka schools) aren't teaching people so when they are adult, they don't know many things we always assumed to be basic. When my son joined (he was in the Army National Guard...their recruiting requirements at the time - 2008 before BO) were higher than the regular Army), he scored nearly perfect (smart genes heehee). But there was someone who was trying so hard to join, had taken the ASVAB 3 times and went again the day he took his. Scored 11. That's REALLY bad. I mean, really bad. Because the questions are just general knowledge, basic common sense, and a bit of thinking. It's only gotten worse in the last 15 years. I agree - dumbing stuff down is always a mistake. Maybe they need to rethink the lying curriculum they use in the public school which hates on the US so much...who wants to protect a country that has been presented to them as being horrible?

Nah...Trump isn't a perfect picture of the Antichrist. The Antichrist has to be someone who can bring people together - people of various beliefs and opinions. Trump doesn't do that. While he is not as divisive as BO and the Dems, he is a very polarizing person. The Antichrist will, at least at first, be a peacemaker. Trump has never even considered himself that. While I agree that he is not good for America, there are few who would run for POTUS that are. Nobody in the Dem party on the national level is worth anything. I'd rather see DeSantis run, but I won't be surprised if he waits another term. Yes, Tony, I do believe that this indictment will cause some who would not have voted for DT to do so. As well as cause some on the flip-side who would vote for whoever is on the Dem ticket won't.

Well, it seems that things happen in groups...we did not know that one of my husband's cousins' wife was ill. She entered eternity either yesterday morning or Friday night. Her husband, the cousin, was also my husband's boyhood good friend. He was one of two cousins who took pictures at our wedding. However, they have not been in contact in many years. We do not know if his wife was saved. Please be in prayer for Mark and his (adult) children.

Oh, it's already well underway. But I think this will make it worse.

I appreciate all the prayer. And continued prayer would be appreciated. BUT I HAVE GOOD NEWS! Reginia's oldest son Chris had been a burden on her heart for quite some time before her homegoing. We've been praying for his salvation. Well, at the funeral, Chris realized his need for Christ and got saved! Amen and amen! I know she's up there rejoicing!

I'm not a Trump fan, but anyone that's been watching can see that there is, indeed, an attack against him going on. What I can't figure out is if he's actually truly a target of leftists or if it's an attempt at creation chaos and confusion amongst Americans...or maybe both.

Please be in prayer for my cousin Jeff White and his kids Savannah & Chris and their kids. Jeff's wife, Reginia, has been fighting cancer for a while. She went to be with the Lord this morning. While we rejoice that she is with the Savior and out of pain, the real grieving has just begun.

Good news today: our 3 Sunday School kids came back today. They missed the last two weeks (time change and birthday party). It always makes me nervous when they miss that much because it's easy to then not want to come back. They, however, seemed happy to be there. We sure were! Hubs and son go faithfully door-knocking every Saturday. There have been interesting visits, but no visitors. Until today. A young man came this morning and said he'd like to come back. He and his fiancé are moving in May to Texas, but if he will continue to come, and if she will come, we get to minister to them for a while anyway.

If they are saved, it is because, like Reheboam, who did evil "...because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD." If they are unsaved, well, they have no power over sin.

So I thought a light-hearted thread might be fun...got any good news or blessings to share? I'll start... This past Saturday we had the baby shower for my DIL and my soon-to-be-born first grandchild, Asher. I know you all know this, but I am SO EXCITED! Add to that my niece is expecting a boy in July. Asher will have a cousin to be growing-up friends with. We had a lot of ladies at the shower, most of whom were church ladies from our church and the one Sarah grew up in. I was able to share the gospel in the event that someone wasn't saved. But we talked about rearing a child in the way he should go...and how Jesus is that Way. Sarah and Asher were celebrated with a lot of great gifts, but even more than that was the fellowship that we were able to have. All of the ladies there were proof of the love so many have for Sarah. Made my heart happy. And what a help the gifts are/will be for the parents. Asher will be here in about 5 weeks. Otto (my great-nephew) about 3 months later. I've yearned for babies around me for so long and God is giving me two this year (that I can send home with Momma! ? ). So what's good in your life right now?

I agree totally with you. But I have, sadly, met people who hold to their prayer, not necessarily to Christ. I've talked to people while going door-to-door who answer with the fact they prayed, not that they trusted Christ. Mayhap it's a semantics thing, but I don't think so. I am leery of "agreeing" with him, since I know he comes from a reformed (he calls himself a "Spurgeonist" rather than a Calvanist) premise. Yeah, maybe I should have called it easy prayerism instead, because that is exactly what I was thinking. As for what he was saying, just a caution again - this is only a 5 minute clip, so we don't know the rest of what he said. He could have explained himself more fully, which his last statement would actually be a good bridge to do so. I don't in any way want to stamp my approval if in any way he's pushing works, which is oftimes what the "no fruit/no salvation" crowd does (Ray Comfort, etc).

Since that was only 5 minutes, I'm not sure what else he said. But it does sound to me like he's preaching against easy believism, which has been predominant in American Christianity for many years. Not that believing in Christ isn't easy, but that folks trust in their prayer rather than the person of Christ, with no repentance. The Bible does teach that salvation will bear fruit in a changed life.
