    Whats for Supper...

Last night we had our first men's dinner, basically a Father's Day celebration. Of nine men members, 8 came, and 6 visitors. They had a good time, enjoyed the food, the fellowship, and the message. Pulled pork barbecue sandwiches, cole slaw, pasta salad, baked beans, stuffed eggs; apple pie, blackberry cobbler, and ice cream for dessert. I had a sausage muffin.

    Whats for Supper...

We went to lunch with our son today - he wanted to treat Randy for Father's Day. We went to a restaurant that we've wanted to try. Hubs had chicken parmesan. My mom had a ground prime rib burger. Josh and I had the fish and chips. It was the best fish I've had in a long time. The fries weren't so great, but I'd go back for the fish again (hubs and son loved the fries).

    Another Brother, Another Blood Clot...

Randy talked with his brother today. He's upbeat and joking as usual. He said he's breathing ok, but Randy said it did sound a bit strained. Thank you for praying.

    Whats for Supper...

    Frito pie tonight.
  5. I got a call from one of my sisters-in-law a while ago. My husband's third brother and she were on vacation. This past weekend, he woke up with a swollen leg. Turns out he had two blood clots, both of which traveled to his lungs. He is still alive, thank the Lord. The lower part of his right lung is damaged, however. And he has to be on an anti-coagulant. He has the factor V that it seem sall of the boys inherited from their mom. The hospital let him go, so they can travel back to OH today. He will be seeing his doctor and then likely finding a blood doc. He is saved, praise the Lord for that. As is his wife. Please be in prayer for him and for the family.
  6. And our son is now here! He arrived at 5:30 Sunday morning (drove all night so he could beat our 5 day/4 night record).

He's staying with us a few days, and putting out applications. Then he'll stay with my sister, who is closer to where he needs to be to get a job. If you think about it, would appreciate prayer that he finds good work.

    Whats for Supper...

I'm not sure...would you go ahead and give it to me? ~~~ We had our potluck at church today. I brought sloppy joes, and there was chicken tortilla soup, broccoli and cheese soup, plus several sides. Dessert was a delicious cherry/pineapple cake, complete with coconut and macadamia nuts. Delicious!
  8. Final testing of the school year...in a couple of hours, my niece will be a senior! Summer break looms ~ Yeehaw!

    Whats for Supper...

My hubs had an extra client this evening. He doesn't usually work in the evening, but this client requested him for both tonight and tomorrow evening. So that meant when he got off at 5 o'clock he would be staying in town until time to get to the client at 6:30. My mother and I had talked about going out to lunch today, but decided to meet my hubs for supper, if he were so inclined. He was and we did. Had an enjoyable dinner, got to spend some time with my hubs (and he didn't have to just wait for the time to pass), and brought home leftovers - fish and chips.

    Whats for Supper...

Oh, that looks tasty! Tonight is church, so dinner is kind of a hunt-and-peck. Hubs finished off the KFC. My niece ate a bowl of chili. I had a cheese sandwich. My mom ate soup earlier. So, we're all fed and ready to head to church.

Speaking of chicken, we had kfc tonight. Good stuff.
  14. Have talked to my hubs about this. Such a sin-sickness going around. I know it's because people are not giving themselves to Christ wholly. But, ick. Just ick. How can someone justify abusing these people who trust them. I just can't wrap my head around it. No wonder Jesus asked if He would find faith on the earth when He returns.

    hi

Bridgeport! Yowza! My parents used to live there (my dad was from Clarksburg). I have a lot of family that lives in the area - not Bridgeport anymore, as the property was sold after my grandpa died. I was able to visit my folks in Bport a few times, but we lived in other places when I was living there (Gypsy, Kincheloe, Shinston) Welcome aboard, Parker. How long has Grace Baptist been there? I didn't know there was a church in Bridgeport.
