This is from Stephanie this morning:
"The words to this song were on my mind immediately upon waking up this morning. Even in the midst of all that has happened these last several days, I see so many ways the Lord has guided, protected, blessed, and strengthened us all. Precious memories with my husband are something I'm so thankful for. The 8 sweet children the Lord gave us together here on Earth are my greatest treasure in the world now. I'm so thankful for the military escort we were given out of the danger zone. The kindness of the soldiers to my children... One of the men was giving Emmy chocolate, which is her favorite. ? My heart broke as we passed the place where Charles was shot, but I know the Lord was our protection and shield as we left our home, I'm so thankful for that safety in passing through that area. I'm so so thankful for our Co-workers, the Sinclair family. This whole tragedy has welded us together as a group, and I fully believe the Lord still has plans for us, even though right life feels so uncertain in so many ways. I'm so thankful for everyone who is praying and supporting our family in ways I don't even know about. The body of Christ has taken in new meaning for me. The Lord keeps reminding me though His word and everyone's words of encouragement that he hasn't forsaken us. He is always good, always.
Thanks to God for my Redeemer,
Thanks for all Thou dost provide!
Thanks for times now but a mem’ry,
Thanks for Jesus by my side!
    Thanks for pleasant, balmy springtime,
Thanks for dark and stormy fall!
Thanks for tears by now forgotten,
Thanks for peace within my soul!
Thanks for prayers that Thou hast answered,
Thanks for what Thou dost deny!
Thanks for storms that I have weathered,
Thanks for all Thou dost supply!
Thanks for pain, and thanks for pleasure,
    Thanks for comfort in despair!
Thanks for grace that none can measure,
    Thanks for love beyond compare!
Thanks for roses by the wayside,
Thanks for thorns their stems contain!
Thanks for home and thanks for fireside,
Thanks for hope, that sweet refrain!
Thanks for joy and thanks for sorrow,
Thanks for heav’nly peace with Thee!
Thanks for hope in the tomorrow,
    Thanks through all eternity!"

This was released this morning by the mission board the Wesco family went through.

    “Good Morning,
Thank you all for your prayers and concern for Stephanie Wesco and the children. On behalf of the family, you all are greatly appreciated!
The Wescos, along with the Sinclair family, made it back to their home safely, packed up, then drove out of the English section last night. They are all safe in the French section, and will be travelling today to the capital city Yaounde. The plan is for all of them to fly out of the capital on Saturday.
The other missionaries that our church works with that were based in the English section have all been evacuated out, with the exception of Glenn and Sarah Swanson. Their ministry was deep in the jungle, where they were relatively safe. Their plan was to trek out yesterday, and be flown out by missionary pilot, Tom Needham, today.
I would ask that prayers be offered for the dear Cameroonian believers who do not have the option of evacuation. They will live with this constant danger for the immediate future.
I will pass along updates as I have them, and will let everyone know of Funeral Plans when they are made.
Thank you very much for your love and concern and prayers for all of those involved.
If there is any question I can answer for you, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
    Thank you,
    Jason Brenenstuhl
    First Light Baptist Mission”
Continue to be in prayer for Stephanie and their 8 children.

Update from Stephanie (Mrs. Wesco) this morning.  She and their oldest son had not made it home after the death due to the violence in the streets. The younger children are with another missionary family and at least at the point of this update did not know their father had gone to Glory. My heart just breaks for this woman and her family.
"Thank you to all who have been praying for us during this last day, which seems like an eternity. My heart is so heavy, as I face driving on the road where my husband was killed; having to tell my precious children their Daddy is never coming home; having to start repacking and figuring out what to take back to the States and what to leave. Knowing Charles is safe in the arms of Jesus brings comfort, and I'm so thankful for promises to cling to from God's Word. Right now I'm clinging to His promise that all things work together for good for those that love the Lord. My heart's desire is that the Lord and Savior my precious Husband loved and served his whole life would be glorified and that there would be a harvest of souls brought to know Jesus as their personal Saviour from sin through his death. I know Charles is so happy to be with Jesus--he often talked of looking forward to seeing his Savior face to face... But I already miss him beyond description and just wish for one more chance to hear his voice, see his smile, hold his hand, and tell him I loved him more than he could ever know."

Thank you for letting us know if this tragic news.
There will be great rewards for the whole family in eternity for their obedience in love in following the Lord. It is my prayer that the Lord give his wife and family peace in their time of sorrow.
Here is an local Indiana newspaper article giving more detail.

Hi there! That's so cool! :D :D I hope she is able to. BTW what is an Anabaptist vs. a  Mennonite vs. an affirming Baptist ? I'm confused. Are they related or in communion with the affirming Baptist Church?
    Thank you,

I live in Sequim, on the peninsula.  My sister lived in Puyallup for a number of years. I remember going to the Puyallup Fair when I was younger.
There are a couple of Baptist churches in Puyallup. Here are the links:

If you're looking for a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching Baptist church, one of these will fill the bill.

Cool, thank you! A question I have well actually I have a  few is:
Do we regard each other and greet each other as brothers and sisters?
Is rebaptism needed in circumstance of where there no Baptismal letter as in a  conditional Baptism?
    Thank you!!

Some churches address fellow Christians as brother and sister, some don't. On the forum it is the same way.
Baptism is the first step in obedience after one's salvation. It is only necessary one time. But some churches will only accept baptism performed by Baptist churches. Others will accept if the church is doctrinally correct.
When I was younger, I was privileged to attend a Christian school in Mountlake Terrace. There was a summer camp associated with the school. I was able to attend the year after my brother went for the first time. While I was there the Lord convicted me of the fact that I was a sinner who needed Christ. My counselor was able to show me through scripture that if I turned to Christ for forgiveness of my sin I would be saved. I accepted Christ as my Savior on that day.
How about you, Beck? Would you share your testimony?

It's ok! I guess it's an easy mistake. I want to be like Jesus and not go to hell. I also want to live  a more Christian life that is full of grace, love and mercy like the Good Lord is.
I think I may be Baptist due to theology and what I think of Halloween bc it's from the devil  but I was also thinking I may be Mennonite but definitely now think I'm a  person who identifies as a LGBTQ Baptist who needs to be baptized.

Why do you feel you need to be baptized? IOW, what is the purpose and intent of baptism? I guess what I'm asking is, what exactly is baptism and what does it do for a person?

    Related Qs would be:
How does a person manage to get to Heaven when they die?
Are you going to Heaven or Hell when you die?
    If Heaven -- why?
    If Hell -- why?
    Please use Scripture when possible.

“… unto the churches of Galatia.” In the days of the apostle Paul, Galatia was one of the Roman provinces in Asia Minor. In recent times, the area of Asia Minor is modern Turkey. The apostle Paul wrote the Epistle to the Galatians to the various churches in that province. The Epistle to the Galatians was to be handed from congregation to congregation, in order to be read, studied, and believed. The gospel message contained therein, and the other doctrines contained therein, were a revelation from the Lord Jesus and later through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.“For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Galatians 1:12
The Churches were Plural in Number
“… churches of Galatia.” The churches in the province of Galatia were plural in number. To me, if there was a concept of a “universal church” Galatians 1:2 would have been more correctly phrased, “… to the universal church in Galatia.”
The Churches were Regional or Local Assemblies
“And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily. Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia.” Acts 16:5 & 6
All of the churches that Paul established were regional, or local, churches independent of one another. J. A. Shackleford makes this observation, “Soon churches were planted in Philippi, Corinth, Ephesus, Thessalonica, Colosse, Rome and Gallacia. These churches were all modeled after the church at Jerusalem, being: First. Independent in their organic relations, one from another.”i
No Church Council or Bishop Mentioned
Since the establishment of the Roman Catholic Church, the various denominations have had “bishops” over numerous area in a region. In the regions of Galatia, and the other regions mentioned in the scriptures, there are no bishops over the churches in that region. The concept of bishops being over the churches in a particular region is not a biblical concept. The concept of bishops being over the churches in a particular region is a man-made doctrine.
    J. M. Carroll has the scriptural interpretation, and description, of a bishop as recorded in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9 and 1 Peter 5:1-4, “B. H. Carroll said, “This organization or church, according to the practice of the Apostles and early churches was given two kinds of officers and only two – pastors and deacons. The pastor was called “Bishop.” Both pastor and deacons to be selected by the church and to be servants of the church.” ii

i Shacklelford, J. A., Compendium of Baptist History. Louisville, KY: Press Baptist Book Concern, 1892, page 40.
    ii Carroll, B. H. The Trail of Blood. n. p., n.d., page 8.
No Record of Paul Referring to a “Universal Chruch”
As recorded in the Book of Acts, the only churches established by Paul, or any of the other Apostles, were local, independent churches: there was no “universal church,” or “denomination” established.
    J. A. Shackleford makes this observation, “That a large proportion of Christians do not know what constitutes a gospel church, is seen from the diverse opinions respecting it. People talk about the “universal church,” “the church at large,” “branches of the church,” etc. these expressions convey but an indefinite idea of a church, and one without any foundation in Scripture. They show, however, a necessity for an investigation of the subject from a scriptural standpoint.”i
Shackleford is correct in his acute observation. The opinions within the various denominations are varied, vague, indistinct, subject to the opinion, and definition, of denominational bias, and have no foundation in scripture. Hence, Shackleford concludes, an scriptural investigation of what constitutes a New Testament church is in order without denominational, or a para-church organizational, bias in needed within the ranks of concerned saints.

Galatians 1:1-2, “The Churches in the Province of Galatia”
The apostle Paul wrote, “Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;) And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia.” Galatians 1:1-2

*Light* reacted to HappyChristian in Wesco Family to Cameroon
Please be in prayer for the Wesco family. This family of 10 arrived in Cameroon in recent months as missionaries. Brother Wesco was shot in the head and died either this morning or yesterday (the time difference fools me...). Anyway, all of their children are minors, so Sister Wesco is left to rear them as a single mom. Her prayer is that God will be glorified through all of this.
