  1. Racist? Did you perhaps think I was translating for he benefit of others here who do not speak Spanish?? So now it´s racist to translate?? Wow, what PC crowd you crawl out of? If I opened my TR, or my interlinear Bible what word would I find there? Hell, Hades, Infierno, words may change by language, but the doctrine is the same. If one dies without Christ as Savior they will go to Hades and one day Hades will be cast into the lake of fire. ROBert Breaker, with all due respect is slightly opinionated and tends to invent false doctrine to argue against any Bible but the one he ha$ publi$hed for con$umption, if you get my drift. . You might want to find some Dr Thomas Holland or Calvin George for some good info on the reality that the 1960 is in fact a trustworthy translation of the word of God. "Jesús Cristo" is not Spanish. In fact its a false teaching of the dualist, is that your persuasion? You other question (Esta no muy importante.....) is sort of gibberish. Uhmm we´ll just let it go. It´s OBvious to me that if you do understand Spanish, you don´t speak it all that well. So according to you the word Hades does not appear in the word of God? Am I correct in assuming that is your position? God bless, calvary
  2. ¿Y qué? ¿Qué crees que has hallado? So what? What do you think to have found? An error? How funny! If I die without Christ as Savior, will I go to Hell or Hades? Or are they not one and the same thing and one and the same place. You look to invent prOBlems where there are none, trying to provoke errors where there are none, repeating like a parrot what you´ve read by some other white guy who as well is not proficient in the Spanish language.
  3. Yet, though the exact same MSS were not available to the translators of the Reina Valera (1909 is the last trustworthy update, the 1960, like anything else produced in1960, is purposefully corrupted), Que interesante que tu crees la RV60 es corrupto y que el 1909 no. Hace unos años hice una comparasión entre el 1865 Pratt, RV 1909, RV1960 y el KJB con cada una abierto en mi mesa.
  4. Anyone who teaches that water baptism puts one in the Body of Christ, is teaching heresy. Swath in a previous post made that statement. This last statement is again, a conclusion that because the thief on the cross was not in fact baptized in water, he therefore is not a part of the Body of Christ. That Mike, is heresy. Period. We are not talking about polemics, and neither is the issue about any motive for water baptism, to which I say, obedience is principle, My issue with Sawth is his interchangeable terms of local church and Body of Christ. They are not, never have been and cannot be one and the same. I continue to be amazed at the lack of biblical defense mods on this site. Many times blatant heretical statements stand unopposed. Swathdivers statement in an earlier post on this thread is blatantly false, and not one mod said a word. Wow. I think I´m gonna sign off and leave you folks to yourselves. God bless, calvary
  5. Say what?? That´s utter nonsense. You are spouting baptismal regeneration, whether you think so or not. Water baptism does not put me in the Body of Christ. It may make me a member of a local church polity, but a member of the Body of Christ? Never.
  6. One guy said, After they took all the makeup off of Jan, they found Jimmy Hoffa........ (it´s just a joke ....)
  7. 1 Corinthians 12:13 says he did. That´s all I need to read. It doesn´t matter what Pentecostals think, I only care what the Bible SAYS. In an attempt to make 1 Corinthians 12, Romans 6 and Colossians 3 speak of water one effectively is saying that water baptism puts one in the Body of Christ, and by implication that the Body of Christ and the local church are one and the same thing. One should think that through before responding. Body of Christ = Local Church?? Is your local church membership absolutely 100% guaranteed born again? There can be no unregenerate member of the Body of Christ, yet it is common enough to know that there are many unregenerate members of local churches. That in and of itself is enough to realize that the Body of Christ and the local church cannot be one and the same. God bless calvary
  8. No, it does not have anything to with water baptism. There is no water in 1 Corinthians 12:13. God bless, calvary
  9. Again dead wrong. As usual you put your own twisted viewpoint on a passage. 1 Corinthians 9 simply says those that MINISTER in the temple have a right to PARTAKE of the altar having just said HE SPEAKS AS A MAN, in other words, COMMON SENSE tells you that the minister should be compensated. PERIOD. Not some class of minister. Your anger at a man of God receiving his due is always present, always evident and always nauseating. If 1 Corinthians 16 was a special one time event as many of the anti pay a pastor crowd advocate, why did Paul ordain it is other churches? It was a principle that he taught in other congregations, regardless of what the offering in Corinth was destined for, the principle was taught is several places. Principles are always lost of you tight fisted, stingy grumblers like yourself who only can see the letter and never the spirit. Working with your hands in 1 Thess 4 has no bearing on the subject., As usual, your caviling is out of context, twisted logic and lacking of any truth. I only wonder when the rest of you that post regular on this board are going to rebuke this fool for his constant contentious spirit and just run him off. Why do you suffer fools? He certainly has a right to his opinion about giving and he certainly has a right to withhold his goods from the Lord´s servants, but why so many of you tolerate his prattling is beyond me. Or could it be that there is none of you wise? None of you able to discern? He claims to be pushed out of a church for teaching against the tithe. I submit to you that he was pushed out for his contentious spirit that is evidenced here on a regular basis. To allow his false statement on the conclusion of 1 Cor. 9 to stand is tantamount to negligence on your part moderators. False teachers should not be suffered. Good day sirs.
  10. It is altogether Biblical and logical that a pastor expect to have his physical needs taken care of by the church he ministers to. If they cannot and yet he remains, that is of his own free will, if however they can and will not owed to some claptrap about the tithe and all the rest of the stingy nonsensical arguments made about supporting a pastor, then they should´t claim to be Bible believers. Before you respond to my past SFiC, as you are accustomed to troll for the word tithe, I did not say I said that a church must tithe nor did I say anyone must. I only said that folks that are anti tithe use a straw man argument to not pay a pastor. The Bible is very clear in this passage. The pastor of a flock has a reasonable expectation t be compensated for his service to the Lord. 1Co 9:1 Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? 1Co 9:2 If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord. 1Co 9:3 Mine answer to them that do examine me is this, 1Co 9:4 Have we not power to eat and to drink? 1Co 9:5 Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? 1Co 9:6 Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working? 1Co 9:7 Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? 1Co 9:8 Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? 1Co 9:9 For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? 1Co 9:10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. 1Co 9:11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? 1Co 9:12 If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. 1Co 9:13 Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? 1Co 9:14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. 1Co 9:15 But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void. The pastor as a Christian has a clear mandate in the scriptures to give as the Lord has prospered him. 1Co 16:1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. 1Co 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. These 2 passages do not cancel each other out, but complement one another. This much is patently clear. 1. A pastor can reasonably expect to have a church pay him for his labor unto the Lord, 2. As a Christian that Lord has a reasonable expectation that he would trust Him to give generously from the heart each first day of the week. God bless, calvary
  11. Oh yeah, there is a Highways and Hedges ministries, I cant recall the web site, but it is a 20 class course that I leaned heavily upon several years ago. God bless
  12. I developed a course for home Bible study, it´s in Spanish, so probably of no real use to you, but what I did was notice that most discipleship courses ran 8 to 12 weeks. Almost all had Baptism towards the end, and most I ever found never dealt with real life issues for new converts. Please do not misunderstand me but a light bread doctrinal treatise of Trinity never seemed to me very practical for a brand new babe in Christ. Our classes run 20 weeks. They are used in over 10 countries, have even been translated into English by one fellow., who took them back to England. LOL Here is our list of classes in the order they are presented: 1. Salvation 2. Eternal Security (this class focuses more on confidence than once saved always saved) 3. Baptism 4. Holy Spirit 5. The BIble 6. Prayer 7. The Will of God 8. The Church 9. Other Christians 10. Giving 11. My Possessions 12. Dealing with Sin 13. Liberty in Christ 14. My Workplace and my Boss 15. The Lost World 16. The Judgement Seat of Christ 17. The Lords Supper 18. Evangelism 19. Discipleship 20. Missions God bless, calvary
  13. My mom is named Eleanor. She is the hospital for the 4th time this year. She has MS which makes her life complicated at best, but this moment she has an inflamed pancreas and is lots of pain. She also had a shoulder replacement earlier this year but due to her MS she has had a difficult time with any physical therapy, so it has not healed well. My poor mother has been battling illness for several years now, she is discouraged, she is tired and sounds defeated in spirit. Please pray for her health, ask the Lord to heal, to lift her up. Please pray for her. Her name is Eleanor. Thank you, bro muller

  17. Then just ask Matt and he´ll let you in. I think it´s that simple :-) God bless, calvary
  18. Hi, I am flying into Kansas City, MO on the 10th of October at 5 pm I have a missionary vehicle lined up for me to sue while I travel to 4 different Missions Conferences. The director of the ministry was going to help me from the airport, but now is unable. I know of no one in Missouri. I need a ride from Kansas City to Trimble, about 25 miles away. If anyone can help or knows of someone that can, I would praise the Lord for His goodness. Thank you and God bless, calvary

  21. Ohh sorry. But it is a great app. Last year I read the Bible 4 times with it. It has a 3 month reading program for the entire Bible. Really challenging. God bless, calvary
  22. I think the best Bible app is called YouVersion. It´s free, has reading plans, you can put it on KJV all you want, it has concordance features, it´s really pretty good. God bless, calvary Oh yeah, it has a audio, and the guy reading sounds like Alexander Scoursby. I think it might be....
  23. Donald, Basically you are like many I´ve met over the years. It´s just trying to justify the non separation form the world and maintain that one is still a spiritual person. The word of God teaches that what we put in our minds will in fact affect or lead to actions. It´s not really complicated. It´s not so much about standards that are pleasing to the Lord, as that of course does depend upon ones´personal views. What true spirituality deals with is not tolerance or acceptance, but what the mind is fixed upon. Dozens of verses speak of the mind, of bringing into subjection to Christ, filling it with thoughts that are godly, pious and wholesome. Colossians 3 says, If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. The key word is not IF, but the key words here are imperative verbs, SEEK and SET. You are commanded to take your mind of of the things of this world. This world is a system of thought, a philosophical mindset, a world view. If you are in agreement with the current of the world, (it´s styles, it´s fashions, it´s habits, it´s politics, it´s speech, it´s music, it´s religions....) then you have your affections on the things of the earth. Paul continues and gives specific examples, but before he does notice that the things above are not "heavenly" but "in" heaven. There is a big differencve. Heavenly is more of an emotion, a sentiment, while in heaven speaks to specific tangible items. Jesus is in heaven, He is not "heavenly". Next to Him is the Father. Sitting on throne. That throne speaks of authority, which in turn tells us of submission to rule, to creed, to edicts. Your loyalties must be to that throne, not the system of the world. Paul´s list says plainly, Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. Fornication is wrong. Relationships outside of marriage are just wrong. Uncleanness - Impurity, contamination, dirt, (does that movie you just watched promote God? Does it make light of the consecuences of sin? Did it in fact show people making decisions that are sinful? Robbing banks, flaunting authority, recklessness? What the world calls Action and Adventure movie is mostly the glorification of sinful behavior and the bad guy is actually the hero!! How many Christians watch Dexter? The man is a cold blooded murderer who is gruesome in his form of justice, taking vengeance in his own hands in violation of God´s word. Yet many love the show, hope Dexter gets away, are worried he´ll get caught!! It´s just an example, I don´t know what you watch. But if a Christian can watch wickedness like that and then say it´s not really a problem, therein lies the problem. Inordinate affection - lust, extravagant desires, immoderate (like the idea that a Christian can moderately imbibe alcohol) Evil concupiscence - Covetousness, .... I think we agree that these things ought not to be a part of our thought life or process. But the amazing thing that Paul says, at least to me is this, In the which ye also walked some time, when YE LIVED IN THEM. Pauls says, I cannot for the life of me understand how a person, freed from the bondage of sin, freed form the slavery to wickedness in their right mind could ever want to go back to that! My speech patterns, my thought life, my dress and style, my habits, my music, my fiends, my way of life.... How in the world could I ever desire to go back to that!!?? How could I EVER want to incorporate that kind of lifestyle into my new life I have with Christ!!?? You must be insane. You must be insane. You argument is a thinly veiled attempt at libertine theology, it´s hedonism for Christians and if you can´t see it, my beloved brother, therein lies the problem. You affections are not set on things above, but on things on the earth. God bless, calvary
