  1. My uncle James, with family around his bedside in 1991, trusted Christ. A grandson witnessed to him of Christ's redeeming lovejust two hours prior to his death. I was told that his final words in song before he lapsed into a coma were "Yes, Jesus loves me, yes Jesus loves..." Uncle James was a mean man toward Christianity in life. Though his wife and five of his nine children did go to Church, he would not go to Church himself, and never allowed singing of Gospel songs in the home. So, if they family were being truthful about his deathbed confession and subsequent singing, I believe he was saved.
  2. Here are the lyrics to the song,... I will pledge my heartTo the love we shareThrough the good and the bad times tooI'll forsake my restFor your happiness'Til my death I will stand by you With God as my witnessThis vow I will makeTo have and to hold youNo other to takeFor rich or for poorUnder skies grey or blue'Til my death I will stand by you There are wars and there are rumorsOf wars yet to comeTemptations we'll have to walk throughThough others may trembleI will not run'Til my death I will stand by you I will put on the armor of faithfulnessTo fight for a heart that is true'Til the battle is won, I will not rest'Til my death I will stand by you With God as my witnessThis vow I will makeTo have and to hold youNo other to takeFor rich or for poorUnder skies grey or blue'Til my death I will stand by you 'Til the battle is wonI will not run'Til my death I will stand by you
  3. Do I foresee a Webb Family youtube video of the song in the near future? LoL The song blends wedding vows with snippets of Scripture, which I like. sadly, many do not hold true to their vows to "have and to hold til death do us part." Or, are they the walking dead? LoL
  4. Tim O'Brian plays a mandolin in the song, but the guitar Kathy Mattea plays is the only instrument I hear. still a beautiful song. Check it out on youtube.
  5. One of the best love songs I have heard is "Battle Hymn of Love" by Kathy Matthea. Yea, I know it's a country song. About the only country song I like. Bet it would sound cool 'bluegrass style'.
  6. And yet, you agree with "outside sources" here on OB? LoL
  7. Hebrews 1:6 (KJV) 6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. Hebrews 1:7 (KJV) 7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. Hebrews 1:8 (KJV) 8 But unto the Son [he saith], Thy throne, O God, [is] for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness [is] the sceptre of thy kingdom. Pretty clear to me,... The angels were made spirits, not sons. Only one son is seen in Heaven, and that Son is the Lord Jesus Christ.
  8. "What" refers to the power of the Holy Spirit. "He" refers to the person of the Holy Spirit.
  9. Exodus 10:26 (KJV) 26 Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.
  10. Exodus 10:24 (KJV) 24 And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
  11. Alan, if you read the OP by Jordan, he asks for thoughts on the tithe. My responses are not out of order.
  12. No need to post quotes from other foruns. I readily admit to teaching against tithing. Everyone here is quite aware of that fact. But, I will not admit to posts on other boards that I have not made,... even if they do have my name attached to them. My articles are used by many on social media and on some blogs and forums as well. Some use them with my permission and with my name attached. Some have used them without my permission. Many of my memes have gone viral without my getting credit. Many have gotten my permission beforehand. as I said, even Pastor Markle afmits that I am right whrn I say there is no command or example in the New Testament for Believers to tithe. and, if you read the devotions and sermons that I have posted in the past on OB, you will see I encourage people to give. So, I am not against giving.
  13. Anyone reading my reply to you can easily see I did not twist your words. i will readily admit I posted on some of those forums, e.g.; nairaland, (nairaland is where I debated the monetary tithe requirement for 58 days) seekGod, heavenlychristianforums, pastors . However, the others are a mystery to me. Perhaps someone who knows I teach against tithing is using my name so that they themselves remain anonymous. here are a couple others I post on,... churchplanters & churchleaders. I do not deny where I have posted in the past.
  14. That comment in the baptist deception blog I do not recall ever posting. I had never heard of the blog before today. Yes, my name is Ron Robey. But I did not write that post. Nor did Linda.
  15. Alan, Thank you for your opinion. However, in your accusations against us, you have bore false witness. We ARE Independent Fundamental Baptists. I have been an IFB since 1991 when I lived in Nc. Upon moving to MS in 2005, I joined an IFB body of Believers and have joined no other affiliation since. Linda has been IFB here in MS.since 2004 Your link to baptist deception is one I have not been to. I clicked the link. It is someone named Steve Sorenson. I am not Steve Sorenson. Nor am I affiliated with Steve Sorenson. Nor do I know Steve Sorenson. As to the accusatioon that we are against giving, you again are bear false witness. We are not against giving. we are, however, against the doctrine that God requires monetary tithes of us. Even Pastor Markle has admitted that there is no such command in the New Testament for us to tithe money to the Church. Should you post Scripture that gives such a command for monetary tithing, we will be more than happy to change our position on tithes. By the way, several of those links you provided above neither Linda, nor myself have ever been a member of. Perhaps someone else is using my articles. If so, I pray that many eyes are opened to the truth that God never commanded monetary tithes for the Church in His Word.
  16. 2 John 1:9 (KJV) 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 2 John 1:10 (KJV) 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into [your] house, neither bid him God speed: 2 John 1:11 (KJV) 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
  17. I have a couple hundred dollars in silver coins, silver rounds, and a silver bar. They were given to me by a millionaire friend who fears the dollar will fail completely in the near future and silver will be most valued. I could spend the dimes, buffalo nickels and silver dollars, (only worth about $18 in a supermarket, but valued at $78 online) if need arise. The rounds and bar would have to be sold to a collector. But, I hold on to them, not to be miserly, but because they were a gift.
  18. Acts 2:1314 does not say new wine is alcoholic. in fact, it proves just the opposite. The statement in verse 13 proves that they knew the only type of wine the Disciples drank was new wine. They were not accused of drinking aged wine, but new wine. New wine is freshly squeezed juice, and non alcoholic. Keep your bartender Jesus. I will serve the one who has nothing to do with alcohol.
  19. New wine, i.e.; freshly squeezed juice of the grape. sorry, not alcoholic. Jesus was not drinking alcohol. He was accused of drinking alcohol. The scoffers were falsely accusing Him,... Just as you do when you claim as they did that he drank alcohol.
  20. Wine in the Bible and the Scriptural Case for Total Abstinence, Leighton G Campbell.
  21. The "who" in verse 29 are the "they in verse 30... Not the "thou" in verse 31. The " who" are already partaking of the alcohol. The "thou" is not. Instead, the "thou" is told to not even look upon it. There is absolutely no connection between the drunkards in the former and the one instructed to abstain. in the latter. Nor is there any indication that the person being addressed as "thou" in verse 31 is allowed to partake of the alcoholic beverage that the drunkards of verses 29-30 are drinking. The instruction is to abstain from the alcoholic beverage altogether.. It is quite evident that the ones that "blatantly misuse the Scriptures" are the ones advocating drinking of the fermented beverages. And yes, if you are following a christ that made alcoholic beverages, who allows the drinking of alcoholic beverages, then, yes,... you are most certainly following a sinful christ, a deceiver.
  22. I accept what Scripture says. it says Look not upon the wine. The wine my Jesus made was not alcoholic. If your Jesus made alcohol, he is not the sinless sacrifice needed for the redemption of mankind. Bartenders are robbers of home, health and life. Apparently the god of this world has so many blinded to that reality. With subtilty, he tells his servants, "Did not God's Word say, Look thou not,...? God doesn't want abstinence." And thousands believed the lie.
