The only reason you didn't receive edification is because you won't accept the truth.  The Greek word for devil even says demon.  Yet the blind won't see it.  And the English text says the lunatic was cured after the devil was cast out.  

The man was lunatick because he was demon-possessed, not because of a fabricated mental illness.

Just as sin was past down from Adam both mental and physical problems can be passes down to children.
