Recipe for disaster i suspect. In all relationships, the one who shows the least interest is always in control. Even in this post women's lib culture, when women chase men the men tend to start running away faster.

There is a danger that a young man can put the desire for a wife ahead of his desire to honour and serve the Lord.
If we put Him first in our lives, He will provide what we need.
I have seen it before where a young man becomes so caught up in finding a wife that he loses sight of the Lord.
Not suggesting this is where you are, but warning before you get there.  
 

I don't know if the whole family is to blame for this unless they knew Josh was involved in sexual sin and tried to keep it quiet rather than deal with it.
At the moment, it seems Josh is mostly or even solely responsible for giving the enemies of Christ an open door to attack us through. The fact Josh was working in a very public position for Family Research Council, having placed himself as a spokesman for Christians, all while he knew he was engaging in sexual sin, and doing so in a very risky manner, is the real problem.
This is a larger scale version of the temporary dust-up over Bristol Palin, doing public speaking tours promoting abstinence while not practicing it herself and then becoming pregnant out of wedlock.
Unfortunately, our enemies will always find some prominent Christian caught in public sin and use that as an open door to attack. Whether the pastor who preaches against homosexuals and then is caught having homosexual relations, of the Palin incident or the Josh debacle, our enemies will always judge us and attack us by and through or weakest members.
In these situations I point out to people that I don't follow Josh, the Duggar family, Bristol Palin, the FRC or Pat Robertson; I follow Christ and strive to live in accord with His Word (the Bible). Most often, this eventually steers the conversation in another direction. For those who are just so bent upon attacking or trying to start a debate, I say basically the same thing but then separate myself from them because they aren't interested in the truth.
Whenever we (Christians) are in the public spotlight there is more chance for someone to look up to us, to consider us someone special to some extent, and also to see our faults, notice if we sin. Pastors, their wives and children often feel this "fish bowl" effect with some people looking at them as a big fish in a little pond, or others who keep a watchful eye for the sake of hoping to catch one of them in a bad light or outright sin.
Naturally, the enemies of Christ are watching too and will take advantage of any opportunity to attack whether it's a case of a pastor or pastor's wife hugging a visiting family member of the opposite sex "too long" (according to the spy who doesn't even know it's a family hug), or a more prominent Christian caught kicking a cat into oncoming traffic, the enemy will pounce whether he can only get an ounce or a pound for the effort.
Take courage, this too will pass, and the end is already written in our favor by the grace of God.

I make sure my family is part of a local church. I believe it would be contrary to Scripture to not place one’s self under the authority of a local church and pastor. Therefore, if I moved I would make sure to find the best church in my area, join up, and do everything I could to be a help - even if it wasn't a KJVO church.

That being said, I'm not going to move somewhere unless God tells me to go there. I highly doubt God would move my family to an area where there is no good church, unless he wanted me to start one.

How many people have fallen into the world, and how many marriages have blown up because people moved somewhere that there is no good church (perhaps to make money or some other trivial temporal purpose)?

Wow. I haven't typed 1990anything in a long time. That looks weird! lol

But to the topic at hand. :-)

My dad was saved the year I was born though he didn't do a whole lot of growing for years, often not even coming to church with us. And though my mom didn't get saved until I was 13 I was still raised in a "Christian" home per se. We went to church faithfully, were even involved in some activities. So I did the Christian kid "thing" and made a profession of faith when I was 5 or 6. I vaguely remember it but mostly just as an interesting story. lol As I grew up and hit my preteens I was anything but secure about my Salvation though I didn't really think about it as something I needed to sit down and take care of once and for all. lol Instead, I would just say the prayer "just in case" at the end of children's church and things like that. When I was 11 we moved across the country and my Spiritual state continued in the same pattern. All of this time though our family was falling apart at the seems, especially the seem called "Mom". I won't go into details this time but after years and years of pain and trying to "do it right" ... and failing, my mom tried a one last ditch effort by going down to a counseling place in AZ. It was the first day she was there that she realized that she wasn't saved. And got saved. :-D (may I insert here that that day the Lord saved our family. It's only by His grace that we are still intact. Not only intact, but all of us but one are serving the Lord and living the sold out life, growing closer to Him every day. To God be the glory!!!) I was 13 at the time and had begun to feel really nervous about the whole Salvation thing. It was time to figure it out for sure. Being new to the teen class I had recently started going on church visitation. Well one night when my aunt and uncle (also my Pastor and his wife) were over for my brother's birthday I saw my opportunity. I asked my aunt just exactly how you went about leading someone to the Lord. Sneaky, right? lol So she led me through the Romans road and then, at the prompting of the Holy Spirit, she looked at me and said, "Do you want to do this, Sarah?" The dam burst and I said yes. :-) Right there in my living room, not caring who was there, I repented of my sins and asked God to become my Lord and Savior. :-) Best day of my life. :-)

I put down 2 or more instruments, because I play the piano... and by default the keyboard & organ! I also have a harp that I can kinda play. I love best playing for the impromptu hymn sings the young people will have at church. It's not an official service, so I don't feel any pressure to play well & can improvise as much as I like, and can our guys ever sing!

We have raining heading our way. It would be great to see revival come too!

There seems to be somewhat of a revival among our core at church. There seems to be more dedication, more personal pursuit of holiness, seeking the Lord's will, being about the Lord's business. It would be nice to see that spread throughout the church.

Its been overcast here all day. But I have revival this week so rain or shine its gonna be a good week.
