I highly recommend FBN Radio. In fact, I think someone on here mentioned it once upon a time ago. It has a good balance of sound preaching and conservative Christian music.

Also Old Fashioned Christian Music Radio. It's all music. I haven't listened to it in a while but liked it when I did.

Cliff Hanger reacted to John81 in Bible used as murder weapon?
I saw this story online the other day, but have not seen anything about it since. I've not seen or heard anything on TV or radio. When I saw the story online I wondered if perhaps they hadn't used the Bible to beat him in the head.
When the criminals aren't white the media protects them. Like the other day when the black man murdered the two white news people he had once worked with. He even stated he killed them because they were white and he hoped to start a race war. The media quickly turned away from those facts and began trying to make the story about gun violence and the need to restrict guns. And "fair and balanced" Fox News, they chose to drop that part of the story too and instead decided to focus on mental health.
That liberal loon and Fox News employee even stated the 2nd Amendment was the stupidest thing in the Constitution and should be abolished. That set the other talking heads with him off into their mantra about mental health.
No, nothing to see here, there is no Muslim war against the West and Christianity; there is no war of blacks against whites and police. The real danger is that Hulk Hogan was caught speaking racist comments because someone recorded a private conversation where he used that dreaded "N word" which most all blacks use, most all people of other races who spend much time with or around blacks, most all rap and hip-hop stars use and people of every race sing along with, and most Hollywood actors use or have used in their movies. Yep, it's Hulk Hogan who is the real danger to America and Fox News made sure they covered that story again today so we don't forget just how racist and evil white folks are.

Thanks for the response Alan. The purpose of my post was not to have it devolve into "Is it biblical to show patriotic videos in church?" and how some churches idolize country and flag. Just thought some people would like it. Shouldn't be surprised though, no wonder so many people stopped posting on this board. Oh well.

    Brethren,
Flying the flag of one's country, and other acts of honoring one's country, is in accordance to the biblical injuction found in Romans 13: 7, "Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour."
All of the churches that I attend are independent. The local church makes the decision to address the issue of how to obey Romans 13:7.
If the local church at Antioch made the decision to fly the national flag of the Roman Empire, (see the above post), in order to honor the Roman government, than that is their decision. Whether or not they did so does not affect me at all. In fact, I probably would; not sure though, as I was not there!
Flying the national flag (except if you are a Jehovah's Witness of course!), is not one bit at all connected with idolatry. If you read your Old Testament closely you will notice that all of the different tribes had their own flag, or, as they are called in the Bible: a standard, or an ensign or a banner.
In fact, it is a commandment from God Himself, for every tribe to have a ensign, or a flag. Every tribe was commanded to fly their own individual standard, or flag,
"And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, Every man of the children of Israel shall pitch by his own standard, with the ensign of their father's house: far off about the tabernacle of the congregration shall they pitch." Numbers 2:1 & 2
If you continue reading Numbers chapter 2 you will clearly see that every tribe had its own flag, or ensign, or standard. The design of the flag, or standard, or ensign, was left up to the individual tribe.
"We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fullfill all thy petitions." Psalm 20:5
In fact, if we have a desire to follow the example of David, we should set up our own banners, or flags, as we rejoice in the blessings of salvation. Therefore, my beloved brethren, the raising up of the flag of the United States of America (our your Government flag), in a church sanctuary is not political; it is a gesture of thankfulness to God above for His many physical and spiritual blessings given through the country one is a citizen of.
"We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fullfill all thy petitions." Psalm 20:5
    Alan

My Church played this during our morning service and I was shocked that I've never heard or seen this before (I consider myself a reasonably knowledgeable sports fan). It's sad but now I look at July 4th as a celebration of what our country USED to be, not what it is now.

I would never allow a son of mine to have a Mohawk hair cut, its all about rebellion. To teach your children right from wrong you will have to say no many times. If you start now, you will have to say no less later on. If you let him keep doing things of rebellion now, later on the word no will never stop him.

My husband was playing this on his phone yesterday and my two comments were #1: His language stinks and #2: He was stupid to post it on YouTube and this is a GREAT way to get legislation passed that hurts all of us.

I'm so tired of stupid Baptist preachers who do loud, controversial things (not in the manner of Christ) that will end up restricting the rights of ALL Christians.

Cliff Hanger reacted to Annie in Nc Votes For Traditional Marriage
From a biblical perspective, this is not a "couple" or a "family." The Bible is clear that homosexuality is unnatural and indicative of a depraved society (Romans 1). The Bible is also clear that "marriage" means a man and a woman (precedent established by God in creation, and echoed throughout Scripture as well as nature). Certainly, there were examples of polygamous heterosexual marriages in ancient Near Eastern cultures (which generally brought nothing but familial strife), but never once is same-sex "marriage" condoned or even mentioned, for that matter. All references to sexual relationships between same-gender persons are negative--it's not even ambiguous. All NT references to marriage/family assume one man with one woman, along with their children. There is no other option. All directives to married couples/families are to "wife," "husband," and "child(ren)." Marriage is a picture of Christ and the Church: the head of the woman is the man, just as Christ is the head of the Church; the wife submits to the husband as the Church submits to Christ, and the husband loves the wife as Christ loves the Church. It's so clearly laid out; how anyone can miss it is beyond me. The Greek words for man, woman, husband, and wife are nonambiguous.

What you're really saying here, although you're supposedly asking for "the biblical perspective," is that there is a difference between what is going on in your mind and what the Bible really says. I cannot for the life of me understand why any Christian (or at least any Christian who is at all familiar with Scripture) could entertain even for one second the possibility that a homosexual relationship constitutes "marriage" or a legitimate "couple" or a "family." It's just ludicrous; I don't get it. I'm not meaning to be offensive, but it's just sad to see how the status quo of our culture has affected some Christians...how they so easily establish a new norm in their minds, not because of anything Scripture says, but merely because of changes in our culture. Culture becomes the standard instead of the Bible. Thoughtful discernment is thrown to the wind.

So are you insinuating that if I vote for Romney I need to re-evaluate my salvation?

I talked to my dad this morning at church about the election and about this thread. Now I know for a FACT that my dad is saved, I've seen the fruits, you haven't. I asked him if he would vote for Romney if he had to and he said yes. Only because he felt BO was so evil that he has to be stopped. He's afraid another 4 years of BO and we'll become a communist country. This election is so important to him that he can't sit it out. I'm VERY concerned about BO taking away our religious freedoms. We are already seeing it happen with the contraceptives issue. We both feel that sitting at home is a vote for BO. I will vote for whoever is the Republican candidate and pray for revival in this country because that's the only thing that can save this country. By the way, I WILL NOT vote for Chris Christy in his re-election since he elected a homosexual to the supreme court.

I agree. It seems to me, they want to have one foot in the world and one foot in the bible, and how dare you say they are wrong. Read that thread I posted, it's an eye opener!
