So as not to be too lengthy, I'll just say that there is no question for me whatsoever that being male or female is much more of an emotional and psychological difference than it has ever been a physical difference. That being the case, God being masculine and making man in His own imagage was not only dealing with the physical, but, more importantly, the mental, emotional, and psychological. That is where the importance of the gender roles come in in the scriptures. Pardon the phrase, but a man is not the head of his house because he has a penis, but because God made him and equipped him with the leadership skills to be in that position. Okay, I'll stop there for now to keep my word about not getting too lenghty.
I look forward to seeing your responses.
God Bless,
Futurehope
As with most things in life, there is more to masculinity and femininity than just outer physical differences. That is because there is more to all of creation than just physical characteristics. God created the whole person either male or female.
Regarding the "gender" of God, God has chosen to reveal characteristics about Himself in masculine terms. Humans are wrong to change and distort that by trying to make Bible translations say "she" when God originally said "he". -
First of all, the King James Version is not inspired in the same way that God gave the originals. God breathed out His Words (inspiration) to the holy men who wrote them down and gave us God's Word in written form. This was done in the Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic languages.
Since that time, faithful men have made copy after copy in different languages all over the world. The King James Version is not special in this regard. There have been faithful, accurate translations before 1611 and since. Any faithful translation, in any language, is God's Word by preservation, not direct God-breathed inspiration. The King James Version falls into this category. God didn't "breathe again" in 1611 (or in 1769 because He couldn't get it right the first time).
Italicized words are added into our English translations for our understanding and clarity because you can't directly translate every single idea, phrase or sentence from one language to another. Each language is unique and words/phrases unique to that language have to be added so that the reader can understand.
The fact that you are female is in no way a limitation to your understanding of the Scriptures. Whoever said that is an idiot. Sorry, I couldn't resist...but it is Biblical.
Has he never read that there is neither male or female but the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him? When the veil split at Christ's death, the way was opened for anyone to come to God. You have just as much right and ability to read and understand God's word as anyone. -
Bakers, when in Rome, emulate the Romans. When in NC, eat the livermush! It's really not that bad!
You may have it, M'Dear! -

DH wants to know...
He thinks E should come after D. I said it was because F stands for failing. He said that A-D don't have a word that goes along with it. He also said that where he went to school, (WV...I don't hold that against him ) they used E along with A-D and F.
I honestly have never heard why but did find a reasonable explanation after doing a Google search.
Some schools use E between D and F and call it a passing fail. It is failing but because of the student's effort, they are passed anyway.
Also, Elementary grades usually use a progressional grading system where E = Excellent, S = Satisfactory and N = Needs Improvement. I guess whoever invented the system didn't want to mix up the systems? -
I told dh yesterday that it seems like there are so many interesting and fun things to do in Autumn:
Hay rides
Bonfires
Fairs
Corn mazes
and in this area, air shows and hOT air balloon festivals.
Also, when I woke up this morning, it felt like "coffee weather". It was a little chilly. -
Ya'll feel like having a new contest?

I need to add some more smilies. We had some on the old board that aren't here now... -
No, "preview threads" is when you can hold your mouse of a thread title and the first couple of sentences appear w/o you having to click on it.

Thanks, holster! The set he is building is HO. He has said before that he would like to upgrade in the future to a larger scale but that would be in the distant future. If I can find some pics, I'll post what he has done so far.

If you're still in the hobby business or if nOT,
I gOT some left over balsa wood, no round dowels, just some light stuff and some pieces different thickness and 3" wide. If you want it, I can send it to ya, NO CHARGE !!! Really, some of it is as thin as 1/32" and thick as 1/2". I was thinking about using it for kindling to start fires this winter, lol.
My hubby will take it if you are still giving it away. He is a model railroad enthusiast and hobbyist. -

It is actually similar to scrapple. If you think of cornmeal mush and a sausage-like meat all mixed together, that is livermush. The one and only time I tasted it, it was fried like sausage. It probably isn't that bad; it just sounds gross. I like sausage but don't like describing how it is made.
