I would not listen to it regardless of what it was about if it is the source I am thinking of, hence the question. If I am mixing them up with some other group, I am sorry.

"Why not"?  Because Baptists have nothing to do with Catholics. William Carey was a Baptist, driven off of the Indian mission field by the very same Catholics your post was about.
The Catholic Church has persecuted Baptists since the beginning of the Catholic Church. So, in that respect, why should we even take note of this "news" story?
They are not Christians in any sense, they are idol worshipping false religion.
As an "aside" Razor; it is customary to introduce yourself when joining message forum. It lets people know who you are and what you believe. You can do that here.

This may be interesting news to someone. But this is a Baptist forum, I doubt it is of interest to Baptists.

Jerry got a reaction from wretched in Shekinah Glory
I just learned today that the word Shekinah (that supposedly means glory - though often they say it like Shekinah glory) that I have heard tons of writers and preachers used throughout the years is not from the Bible at all, but from the Jewish Talmud, the unbelieving Rabbinical commentary on the OT Scriptures (and commentary on their commentary - not joking).
The two main words in the Bible for glory are: for the OT is kabowd, and for the NT is doxa. There are a couple of other words, but shekinah is NOT in the Bible at all
It is not like using a non-Biblical word to describe an actual Biblical doctrine, like Trinity, rapture, incarnation - but actually is using a word that means different (ie. pagan) things, when there are perfectly good Bible words that do mean glory. Strange that people adopt something like this and then pass it on as truth.
Funny, when I posted this on Messenger to some Christians from my old church, one of the old preacher boys said he knew that, but defended it. Why use a word with pagan and kabbalistic meanings when we can use the words God gave (either the English word, or the Greek and Hebrew words actually from the Bible)? Sad.

This is interesting... I was watching some powerpoint presentations on Jewish history for the last 2000+ years.
Jews in Fighter Jets Slides (wayoflife.org)
I never realized what kind of persecution they went through. Yes, God prophesied of this judgement on them for rejecting Him, but those that did that kind of abuse and harm to God's people throughout the centuries will no doubt have to give an account of their actions and cruelty. It reads just like Foxe's Book of Martyrs or some other history book covering the martyrdoms and cruelty done to the Christians. The other side of history I guess that we never hear about.
All that being said, I am posting these comments because of a quote from the slides:
"They were confined to the ghetto every night, on Sundays and during Christian festivals; at other times, they were forbidden to walk in the town more than two abreast. They were barred from entering parks, inns, coffee houses and the promenades around the town's picturesque walls" (Niall Ferguson, The House of Rothschild).
Sounds almost where this world is at with those who refuse the vaccine! In the long run, I think it will overall be mostly true Christians who will resist these pushed mandates, and then we will bear the enforcements of their wrath on us and our families, eventually leading to the Mark of the Beast under the reign of the final ungodly world leader. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

God gives us more light as we search and study the Scriptures - not new light in the sense that it was not in there in the first place, but could be new to us in that we never knew those truths or understood those passages and principles before (or to the extent we now do). Any light or understanding the Holy Spirit gives us today, was already always there in His Word, even though we didn't see or grasp it before. When we start thinking we have some new revelation (implying something that previously was not in God's Word, or previously not found in the underlying preserved texts), then we are already on the wrong path and perhaps in danger of departing from the faith or leading others away from the truth.
Stick with the Word of God, rightly divide it, pray for wisdom and cling to the truths you find. As you build upon your understanding of God's Word and apply it, He gives you more - but not new or advanced revelation.

You are 100% dead wrong on the highlighted part of the quote above. The government refusing health services, in some places of the world putting scanners in supermarkets so you cannot buy groceries if you do not have multiple vaccines, restricting travel, barring you from restaurants and stores, etc., causing people to lose their jobs if they refuse to comply with their everchanging enforcements are all aspects of (iron) Government control, which goes far beyond any legitimate health concerns.
We are seeing the iron control of this government before our very eyes:
Daniel 2:40-41 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
No, we are not in the rule of the 10 toes world government yet (the last form of this empire will rule the seven years of the Tribulation period), Revelation 17:10), but we certainly are in the legs and feet part of this statue, representing the world empires/governments that remain until Christ's return.

    Numbers In The Bible Series
    61 - The Shepherd
    The Shepherd
(This Devotional by Kate is included in this book as a follow up to #6, The Nine Cares Of A Shepherd) In yesterday’s devotional, we saw how God uses the medium of speech for His Word to be communicated to His people. Is it any wonder then that the Lord would compare Himself to a shepherd? Many years ago, I did a study on the job of a shepherd in biblical times. This comparison of the shepherd to our Lord is an absolute blessing! I pray you will receive a blessing today.
Did you know that the shepherd speaks to his sheep? The sheep actually recognize their own shepherd’s voice and won’t respond to another shepherd’s voice. (John 10:27) My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: I don’t know about you, but this brings me great comfort. A good part of Christ’s earthly ministry was spent teaching His disciples. They sat at His feet listening to His lessons and parables. He spoke to them and shared with them His Father’s will. (Mark 6:34) And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things. Jesus knew they were without a shepherd and He became their Shepherd and taught them. He taught them from the Scriptures. How can the Christian hear Jesus’ voice today? Christ is known as the Word of God, therefore, it is through God’s Word that we can hear His voice! In fact, without the Word in our lives, we will make mistakes. (Matthew 22:29) Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. The Word is God’s power in our lives. (John 1:12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
The shepherd not only speaks to his sheep, he leads his sheep and he knows each one of them, watching over them day and night. He knows each one of sheep personally – he knows each one of their markings. In fact, shepherds would name their sheep to pass the time. (John 10:3) To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. Does this not bring you comfort, dear Christian? Your Shepherd, Jesus Christ, calls you by name! When I was being wooed by the Holy Spirit to be saved, Jesus was saying, “Kate, come to Me”! Praise His Holy Name! After salvation, I instantly heard my Shepherd’s voice as I read the Word! The Word of God lit up like a neon sign and the Shepherd’s message was loud and clear to me. The pages of my Bible were no longer dry reading but they were alive!
Being a shepherd was a very responsible job. The shepherd had to keep count of his sheep and give an account for any that were lost. The owner would demand to be paid for each one that was lost. (Matthew 18:12) How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? In today’s mind set, one wonders why so much time would be spent looking for one lost sheep. But when a price is attached to that sheep, one can clearly understand because that lost sheep is of value to the shepherd. Christ paid for each of us with a great price, my friend – with His own life. Our Shepherd gave up His life for each one of us. As the shepherd would bring his sheep in at night, he would count them as they passed by under his hand. Each one was touched by him. Christ touches each one of us through His Word.
The shepherd also anointed his sheep’s heads with oil. The Shepherd in Psalm 23:5 anoints His sheep’s head with oil. (Psalm 23:5) Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. The oil symbolizes receiving God’s anointing – receiving God’s grace to live the Christian life. The oil was used for medicinal purposes – being placed on a sheep’s head kept the sheep from getting sun stroke. It would also heal the bramble scratches. As Moses anointed the tabernacle (Leviticus 8:10-12) and sanctified it, so should the Christian anoint himself (2 Peter 1:4) to sanctify himself daily to serve the Lord. As we read the Word, we hear God speaking to us. As we apply what we have been taught by the Word, we become more and more set apart from the world.
As the shepherd spoke, he would lead his sheep daily to rest at noon in a quiet pasture and to a safe drinking place in the evening. Our Shepherd leads us to quiet pastures in His Word – we need to make time to graze there and be fed spiritually. We also are led to a safe drinking place in the Word of God. It is in our Bibles that we find everlasting water – we do not thirst when we live by the Word. The Bible is a living Book – bringing conviction and direction for the believer. (John 4:14) But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. Not only does salvation come from the blessed pages of our Bible but when we hear the Shepherd’s voice, we follow and receive eternal life.
At dusk, when the shepherd can no longer be easily seen by his sheep, he taps the rocks with his staff to assure them he is near. This brought a whole new meaning to me as to why David said that God’s rod and staff comforted him. (Psalm 23:4) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. The shepherd’s staff guides the sheep and his rod, or club, protects them from attacks of wild beasts. The sheep are comforted by the sound of the staff on the rocks – they know the shepherd is near and ready to protect them. When we are in the Word, we are being guided by our Shepherd, the Word of God, Jesus Christ. We can hear His staff hitting the rock because we recognize Him throughout the Bible. When we are in the Word, we are protected from the enemy. We recognize false doctrine when we read it and hear it because we have seen and heard the true Shepherd. It is said that bank tellers are trained to catch counterfeit money by having them handle and touch real money. We will recognize false doctrine because we are hearing and reading true doctrine. The more we are in the Word of God, the easier it will be for us to recognize false gospels and heresy.
The job of a shepherd was considered to be an abomination to Egyptians. (Genesis 46:34) That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians. Since Egypt is considered to be a type of the world, the world will consider Christ to be an abomination. (John 1:10) He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. Why? Jesus is an abomination to the world because He exposes their sin. (John 7:7) The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. Our Shepherd will expose our sin so that we can remove it from our lives.
What a blessed comparison this has been indeed! Our Shepherd speaks to us in His Word. His words guide us, feed us and anoint us to do His work. How beautiful are the words of our Saviour as we read the Bible each day! How can we survive without them?

GloryLand, it's your choice to get it or not - but please don't think that 'you're not in danger by taking it.' You absolutely are. Consider this:
    - For most everyone under 60, you are statistically in no risk at all from Covid (remember that zero deaths is an impossible focus - you have to consider whether any deaths are statistically important).
    - This begs the question whether a vaccine is necessary for an illness with such (statistically low) change of death.
    - VAERS shows hundreds of thousands of severe side effects - including death - from taking a vaccine that (according to the information above) you don't need. Why risk any side effect to take a cure for a disease you are statistically unlikely to die from? Blood clots, myocarditis, pericarditis, miscarriage, paralysis... these are only a few of the common side effects being reported.
    - VAERS is significantly underreported - meaning there are likely hundreds of thousands - if not millions - more side effects from these vaccines. This is supported by first-hand stories by every health care worker I speak to - at least the Christian ones. I am not suggesting this vaccine is the mark of the beast - I don't think it is - but there is strong delusion in this area.
    - The mRNA is a completely new kind of vaccine that has never been used on humans before. Notwithstanding, none of these vaccines have been tested long-term to find out their long-term effects. Especially in the area of fertility.
    - These so-called vaccines cannot prevent you from catching or transmitting Covid at the same rate as the unvaccinated (see the CDC Director's note on Delta), and appear to have no effect on the impact of Omicron. Again, why get a vaccine that doesn't work, and has serious possible side effects, to 'protect' from a disease that really won't kill you if you're not already seriously ill, old, or dying?

Think what you will about it, but do not be deceived into thinking it is harmless. And seriously - go check out VAERS.

In America We the People are Caesar, E. NOT the government. Yes, if "our government" steps outside the bounds of the Constitution we are duty bound to disobey them. They are not our lords, they are not our masters; they are our servants. THEY are to obey US.
The Bible says we are to honor the king.  In America, as I've tried pointing out to you before, the LAW is king. "Rex Lex." And that law is completely rooted in our federal and state constitutions (any overstepping them is BREAKING the LAW). Ergo, whomever breaks the LAW is disobeying scripture. And, as We the People are to be the regulators of said law, it is our DUTY to stop them from continuing to break the law. Are you doing your duty? Or are you spreading the vile lie that we are to bow the knee to every whim of "government" in the (false) claim of obeying scripture?

Vaccines are a personal choice. People who try to guilt others in one direction or the other are wrong, and they are busybodies, butting in to choices not theirs to make. MYOB would be a good mantra for some to learn (that stands for "mind your own business"). "...And that ye study to be quiet, and to DO YOUR OWN BUSINESS..."  Encourage people to search and find their own answers on this and stop trying to guilt one way or another.

Also, to clarify, denominations are not Biblical. An IFB church is not a denomination. It is a Baptist church that is not part of another church group or has a headquarters anywhere telling them what to preach or believe.
General observation, not applied to anyone or any group in specific (though based on reading and researching about specific churches through the years):
Assuming you are talking about a Baptist or IFB church leaving its name or identification behind, then It is a watering down of the truth, choosing not to stand where they once stood. If they are from a denomination that went by the wayside, I can see them leaving that denomination and becoming "non-denominational" because they don't know if there are other denominations or groups that are solid and preach and practice the truth these days. They might not know how to identify themselves anymore. Though if they are following the worldly trend of becoming some kind of "community church," that is bad in itself, and often an attempt to fit in with the crowd because of not desiring to contend for the faith anymore. You draw more people if you lower the standards and bring the truth down to its lowest common denominator.

You are not very clear in your posts. What are you asking or looking for? Reasons why certain text was capitalized? They are usually names of Christ, or signs. Like you mentioned, the Branch, Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews.
Zechariah 3:8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH.

Zechariah 6:12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:
Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Matthew 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Matthew 27:37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Luke 2:21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

John 19:19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
    Jesus' name in Revelation 19:
Revelation 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
    In Jeremiah:
Jeremiah 23:6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Obviously LORD with all caps, but also some other compound names of God:
Exodus 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

Psalm 83:18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

Isaiah 26:4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
Acts 17:23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
Revelation 18 also has capitals to refer to Babylon:
Revelation 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
These are the ones that come to my mind right now. There might be a few more. If that wasn't quite what you were looking for, no problem.

Wretched, maybe I am misunderstanding you, but it is the New Testament that teaches us to obey our Governments (Romans 13:1-7, 1 Peter 2:13-17; Titus 3:1), and several other passages warn how the wicked despise the authority over them (and obviously, we are not to be like those ungodly rebels. See 2 Peter 2:10-11; Jude 1:8-10). We have Acts 5 and the example in Exodus that teaches us to obey God rather than men when our leaders command us to do something contrary to God's Word (and like I mentioned above, I would also include when they go against our conscience). When they attempt to shut down our churches, and hinder the preaching and teaching of God's Word, we stand against that. When they pass laws to legalize and promote abortion and all kinds of immorality, yes we stand against that too. But nowhere are we given a license to rebel against the government just because it is wicked or filled with people that reject our God.

I respect the position of the leaders of my country - but I do not necessarily support the leaders themselves or their decisions. Yes, I do strive to obey the laws of my country - except when those laws go against the Bible OR my conscience, such as enforced vaccination. My body is God's, not my government's. (Not saying that is where anyone was going with this thread, but that is what came to mind when I read this thread in light of other discussions on these boards and what is going on around us in the world.)

I do not condemn those who do get the vaccine - yet, as more as more time goes on, I am more and more reluctant to get it. I do not like the enforced vaccination (and the view that you are not doing your part to make society safe by following along with the crowd), and I have seen and heard about too many who had serious complications. This totally fits with this time according to Daniel 2:
Daniel 2:40-42 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
We are not in the time of the 10 toes (that is the final seven year rule of the antichrist, the 10 kings of the final kingdom - or final form of the last kingdom would be a better way to state it), but we certainly are at the bottom of the legs at this time. They are enforcing their iron rule to make everyone comply or make them seem like they are a lesser citizen, then start ostracizing them and taking away their rights. Yes, that is a reality we are hearing about now in North America, let alone what they are enforcing on other countries of the world.

I am sorry, but as another brother stated above, I will not fellowship with you if you believe you can find advanced revelation in your Bible. As I already quoted from God's Word:
Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Whatever you get out of your King James Bible from studying everything in its proper context and from using sound Bible study tools was already in it, was already in the underlying preserved Hebrew and Greek texts. God is not adding to His Word today. The canon of His Word is complete - that is what He Himself said in Revelation 22. If you add to His Book, take away from it, or mess with it, God will mess with you by giving you consequences you will not like, some of which are eternal.
And I do not see how someone's Amillenial view (which no true Bible believer should have today) is relevant to this subject, and do not see how the proper Millenial view is some kind of advanced revelation. The Bible reveals PROGRESSIVE revelation, and that means as time went on, God gave more Scripture and therefore more light on things He has said in the past - but again, His Book was closed and finished, completed in about AD 96 when the Apostle John was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write the book of Revelation.

If what you mean by that which I have emboldened in your quotation above is that the King James translation somehow provides an "added revelation" of "new doctrine" that was not previously in the divinely inspired and preserved Hebrew and Greek - then I am compelled to express an emphatic disagreement.
I would stand in agreement rather with that which Brother Jerry presented:
    To consider your example:
This appears to be a reference unto Revelation 17:9-10.  Being able myself to look up and read the Greek of Revelation 17:9-10, I would present that the Greek reads just as the English in these verses.  The Greek reads just as the English that the seven heads of the beast upon which the whore rides are seven mountains.  The Greek reads just as the English that the woman/whore sits upon these seven mountains.  The Greek reads just as the English that there are seven kings, that five of those kings have fallen, that one of those kings is, and that the seventh king is not yet come.  The Greek reads just as the English that the final king, when he comes, will continue for a short space of time.  There is nothing different between the Greek and the English; there is no added revelation or doctrine in the English.

And, no one is saying that we HAVE to go to the underlying Hebrew and Greek - however, the English language has changed in the last 400+ years, and words have changed meanings or modified their range of meanings. Strong's Concordance helps open us the definitions of the words used in each passage - as does a solid dictionary like Webster's 1828 Dictionary. For those who wing it and think they understand everything without lexicons and dictionaries, I am not surprised when they get some wacky ideas because they don't know what a word means OR they think a word means a certain thing in the Bible because they use a modern definition of the word that has no relevance to its Biblical usage.
For example: The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not WANT. Oh look, a true Christian is not supposed to have any WANTS/DESIRES. That is not what it means. Want means to be in need. When the Lord is your Shepherd and you are walking in obedience to Him, you will not be in need or be in want because He supplies all your needs, as Matthew 6:33 teaches us.

Be careful you do not add to the Word of God. God finished giving us Biblical revelation 1900+ years ago.
Anything we get from studying out the English in context was ALREADY in the underlying Hebrew and Greek. If you add to that, you are deceived and in trouble with God.
I am pretty sure the Greek Textus Receptus says the EXACT SAME THINGS the English does in Revelation about Mystery Babylon. It is up to modern Christians to read, study, and receive what God has already said. If some professing Christian refuses to believe that Revelation 17-18 describes Papal Rome, the city on Seven Hills, that is a problem with them, not with the Greek Textus Receptus.
Again, I stand with most on these boards, we use the preserved Hebrew and Greek as tools to help us better understand the English of our KJV, not to correct it or get different doctrine or different understanding than what the English says (yes, Greek and Hebrew word studies help shed light on the English, just like Webster's 1828 Dictionary does - if it gives a different meaning, then most here would reject that meaning. Though understanding the range of meaning of a word is not necessarily correcting the Bible, as long as we see how a particular meaning does or does not fit in a particular passage).
