    Sister "Jesuspaiditall4all,"

You have indeed understood correctly.  Concerning your further questions, believers who have died and are in heaven at the present time would not possess physical "bodies" at tha present time, but would exist in heaven only in soul-spirit form.  However, this does not mean that they have no recognizable form or face to one another.  According to God's Word, the angels are spirit beings by nature.  Yet God's Word seems to indicate that the angels as spirits do possess a recognizable and distinguishable "spirit-form" one from the other.  Thus I would conjecture that at present believers in heaven also possess such a "spirit-form" that includes a "spirit-face," whereby they can recognize and distinguish one another.

If there is no one in Heaven them we are in big trouble, & are wasting our time with God & Jesus, yet thankfully that is not true, & ever saved person that has ever died, their soul in now in Heaven.

What Paul stated is true, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

2Co 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

And the only way to be present with the Lord is for your soul to be in Heaven with our Lord.

1Pe 3:22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

Because Jesus is now in Heaven setting on the right hand of the Father.

I believe your explanation has made it clearer for me and if I understood what you stated from the scripture I quoted, I understand it to mean.....
When a believer dies their soul goes directly to be with the LORD and then in the future when Jesus returns, at that time those bodies who are asleep (dead in Christ)  will be transformed to their new heavenly bodies and will rise first and go directly to heaven?
So if I have understood correctly, that leads me to wonder what their bodies are now?  All those currently in heaven are they just a group of heavenly souls without a body or face?  How will they recognize their loved ones who have gone on before them??
This explanation has opened up a whole new set of questions for me....that is if I understood you properly??

I've seen that very same post on various Christian forums.  I personally don't think it's funny....but that's just my opinion.

My son and daughter-in-law have been haunting the thrift store near them, as well as yard sales, finding bargains as they set up housekeeping in their new place. They've been able to find some real good deals.

Last week I was out to our local Value Village (second hand store).....by the way, I love these stores, so many useful items that can be re-purposed,  re-cycled and re-used!!  Anyway, I was in the electronics department where I found a Sony blue ray player for $24.99.  I wasn't a 100% sure it was working but decided to purchase it anyway because the tag didn't state no return on it, so I knew it could be returned if I needed too.  The price was fair but the best part was I had a 30% off coupon so that made the deal even better.  It didn't have the remote with it, however once home I hooked it up and manually pressed the buttons to test it out.  It worked like a charm, so I visited E-Bay and put in the Sony brand and model number to locate a remote for it.  I found a new remote for $13.50 which included free shipping.  The remote arrived today and I just finished setting everything up....it functions amazingly and I am happy to say for approximately $30.00 we have a great DVD player which can also play Blue Ray Disc's as well.

Yes, I feel sure if I searched I would find some that I too fail to remember, I to fail to take my own advice at times, I suppose we all do.

Anyway I did a search trying to bring things to remembrance & came cross that one & thought I would show it to you.

    Our God still works miracles!

We stopped by the doctors office after my wife's physical therapy yesterday to see if they could push back her going back to work. The doctor said no, she must go back on 8-29. One of my wife's physical therapists took a stand and pressed her view that my wife should not be returning to work so soon. Eventually, at the end of the day yesterday, the doctor agreed to give my wife one more week off. That was good news!

Yet there was some surprising news to come. When my wife called the workman's comp lady and told her about the extension, how she was doing and told her when her first post-op appointment with the doctor is, the workman's comp lady told her to not only take that other week, but to also take another week and a day off!! My wife now doesn't have to go back to work any sooner than 9-16!!!

Everyone said it was impossible that my wife would get more than one week off. They all said the doctor would never approve it and workman's comp would be even worse to talk to. They seem to have not considered what God can do!

Our God is able to do abundantly more than we hope and pray for!

Jesuspaiditall4all reacted to John81 in The Godly Way Women Are To Dress And Look
Some do this out of ignorance, not outright rebellion. Many women have never been taught anything at all about the true nature of modesty or why it's important. Many women have never heard sound biblical teaching on the subject. In most churches the older women are not training the younger women in this area. Sadly, in many churches today the older women themselves are still ignorant about such matters.

Many women in church today grew up wearing bikinis from the time they were very little girls. They have been taught and trained that such is okay. Having dressed like that all their lives, with the idea wearing a bikini in public is fine, they have no way at all to understand how anyone could think their dress is inappropriate because it only goes down to mid-thigh and has a plunging neckline. These women need biblical instruction, especially from mature Christian women who have the patience to work through this issue with them.

True enough, there are some women who do know there is a reason to dress modestly and that their dress is immodest and yet they dress that way anyway. These women are in true rebellion, refusing to obey the Word in this matter. The first thing which needs addressed with them is their rebellious sin.

Today we have several generations of people out there who have never been taught good morality and who have never been biblically taught about many things. If they are in Christ, they need to be discipled.

I don't know of one Christian who has never felt any of these.... Doubt, discouragement, diversion, defeat, delay.  We all from time to time fall into satan's trap, however, it is most important to not remain there.  None of us are perfect and GOD knew that, thus the reason for our Savior.  Living in the world we live in plus our own imperfect bodies often causes us to stumble and fall.  Some more often then others but regardless sin is sin.  Satan loves to weaken the spirit and draw us in, we can't change that but we can rise above and press onward.  If it wasn't so, there wouldn't be a desire to repent and turn away from unrighteousness.  I will be the first to admit I am far from perfect but I am very thankful for GOD's plan or I wouldn't have a prayer.  We know right from wrong, however, doing what is right at all times is most difficult and near to impossible.  When we fail or fall short satan is right in there with ample supplies of  Doubt, discouragement, diversion, defeat, delay.... ready to draw us closer and tempt us even more.  For me, recognizing that I am a sinner saved by Grace is the clinching factor.  I'm saved, not perfect but walking towards perfection and grateful for it!!  HE didn't bring me this far to wash HIS hands of me, but rather to mold me into the person HE designed me to be.  Doubt, discouragement, diversion, defeat, delay are all factors in life, but their just roadblocks waiting to be detoured around, and this journey we're on, is your trip of life while on earth!!!

It isn't wrong to stand firm on what scripture teaches, but it is wrong to twist what someone has said to try to prove your point.  I haven't been back very long, however, long enough to see what has occurred here.  I believe you will respond back and have more to say to defend your position, but, I'm not here to disagree with you.  I come to this forum to learn, to fellowship and share.  I stated what I did because it was - is my observation.  When things are known they are clear to the individual and that doesn't mean that all individuals have the understanding correctly,  just because they firmly believe it to be so.  We can be wrong, dead wrong and still believe we are correct in our stand.  Just something to think about.

    O

Interesting, some of the varied aspects brought up in this thread are primarily unique to Western churches and matters mostly of more recent times.

Anyway, several things here could be interestingly discussed, if not all jumbled together in one thread, and if folks discussed the matters in a civil manner with Christian love.

Praise the Lord for his salvation!  I'm so sorry for your loss, but so thankful he was saved before he went out into eternity.  I lost my Dad in Feb. of 2012.  He's in Heaven, too.  And it is a comfort to know that, even though we miss them greatly!
