Just checking in to say hello.....been away and haven't been able to check in as much as I would like! Hope everyone is doing well!!

Roast Beef, mashed potatoes, corn, gravy and bread/butter. Leftovers for tomorrow will allow me to create hot beef sandwiches. Love being able to make two meals from one!!
-
Deep fried perch and pickerel....with french fries of course. I realize deep frying isn't the healthiest method of cooking fish but it is sure the tastiest! We consume a lot of wild game and fish and most of our meat has not been injected with any hormones or chemicals to speed their growth. We are a hunting family and catch most of what we consume.

I gathered that you's were married from the previous posts, but was unsure, so I felt I needed to ask. As they say, going to the source is best!!!
-
This if off topic, but if I may ask are you Standing Firm In Christ and Linda, husband and wife?
-
Sorry not sure what happened, but I ended up with a double post??
-
Oh that's tough Linda.....it must be difficult planning and managing your shopping a month at a time?

Grits are kind of like Cream of Wheat, except grits are made from corn, not wheat.
We just had leftover hamburger helper (Cheeseburger macaroni). I doctored it up with frozen veggies and a can of diced tomatoes.
I like Cream of Wheat, so I may like grits then!! Cheeseburger macaroni with frozen veggies and diced tomatoes sound pretty tasty too!!

I'm Canadian as well.....but from Southern Ontario, so one of the lowest points in Canada. Not sure where Salyan is from?

We don't have A/C, which is why it's 95 in this room with 80% humidity.
Oh John81, I feel for ya.......I would send ya, some cool air if I could!!!
-
I've never had grits, so I don't know if I would like them or not. Not common on the menu around here.
-
Barbecued hamburgers this evening......fresh cucumbers, tomatoes from the garden along with lettuce. Nothing like home grown veggies and cheese melted over the burgers......

The humidity is quite high here as well, but I am thankful for our central air. We haven't had to use it a whole lot this past summer but on the humid days like this, we do!! My poor hubby works in an automotive recycling shop and between using torches to cut things off and impact wrenches to remove tight bolts, he is really glad to come home to a cooler environment. He gets a good nights rest as well and feels more refreshed to tackle the job of the day.

For sure, I enjoy going to yard and garage sales too!! So much better then throwing a lot of the stuff in the garbage, on another note though there are some items that people attempt to sell that should be in the garbage!

Last week I was out to our local Value Village (second hand store).....by the way, I love these stores, so many useful items that can be re-purposed, re-cycled and re-used!! Anyway, I was in the electronics department where I found a Sony blue ray player for $24.99. I wasn't a 100% sure it was working but decided to purchase it anyway because the tag didn't state no return on it, so I knew it could be returned if I needed too. The price was fair but the best part was I had a 30% off coupon so that made the deal even better. It didn't have the remote with it, however once home I hooked it up and manually pressed the buttons to test it out. It worked like a charm, so I visited E-Bay and put in the Sony brand and model number to locate a remote for it. I found a new remote for $13.50 which included free shipping. The remote arrived today and I just finished setting everything up....it functions amazingly and I am happy to say for approximately $30.00 we have a great DVD player which can also play Blue Ray Disc's as well.

Our God still works miracles!
We stopped by the doctors office after my wife's physical therapy yesterday to see if they could push back her going back to work. The doctor said no, she must go back on 8-29. One of my wife's physical therapists took a stand and pressed her view that my wife should not be returning to work so soon. Eventually, at the end of the day yesterday, the doctor agreed to give my wife one more week off. That was good news!
Yet there was some surprising news to come. When my wife called the workman's comp lady and told her about the extension, how she was doing and told her when her first post-op appointment with the doctor is, the workman's comp lady told her to not only take that other week, but to also take another week and a day off!! My wife now doesn't have to go back to work any sooner than 9-16!!!
Everyone said it was impossible that my wife would get more than one week off. They all said the doctor would never approve it and workman's comp would be even worse to talk to. They seem to have not considered what God can do!
Our God is able to do abundantly more than we hope and pray for!
That's fabulous news!! Our GOD is definitely able to do what man believes to be impossible!!!

The Energizer bunny, Salyan....

Preconceived notions that people have conjured up in their minds is probably one of the biggest factors holding them back from stepping out in faith. I know at one time prior to accepting Christ, I thought I had to be perfect, and in my heart I knew I couldn't be 100% all the time. I thought, oh man if I do this and I fail I am really gonna be doomed......it took me some time to finally understand, that it wasn't about what I could do, but what Jesus had already did for me. I was so accustomed to living my life, taking control of everything in it that I took HIM for granted. Yes I believed in GOD, but I did not have a relationship with HIM until I finally realized it wasn't about me but rather me putting my faith in HIM.
Hebrews 11:111 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

No doubt John 81, I would be wondering that as well!

Reminds me of some churches I've visited where they sing "come to Jesus" over and over again until someone comes forward, even if that means repeating the song for 20 or more minutes until someone, anyone, gets up and walks to the front.
is it just me, or does that seem a bit presumptuous? What would happen if no one came forward? Just seems like an awkward moment in the making...too much pressure for most people, I am thinking!

Could it be the energizer bunny......he keeps going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going and going an...
