  1. You're shifting the burden of proof. The KJVO position claims that the only true word of God in all the world. No other version in any other language can be the perfect word of God if the KJVO position is correct for the reason I mentioned. You are the one who must prove that claim.

Since you are the one making the statement, I think you are the one that must prove that claim. I'm KJVO and I do not believe the bold part to be a true statement. I believe the KJV to be God's preserved Words in English, and He is capable of doing it in other languages also.

Seeing how this topic is about a "English" version, I think this topic should remain discussing the English versions.

  2. I'm not KJV-only, but I do agree that the TNIV is messed up. Tons of horrid translations. Of course, I don't really like any translation completely, considering they all have stuff wrong (from what I've seen) - like, translating baptizo "baptize" rather the "immerse", the literal translation. And, in some instances, translating ekklesia "assembly" rather than "Church."
    God bless,

If you have found that they all have translational errors, then I think you would be the one to have the authority to make a new translation. If you know they all are wrong, why haven't you given us a accurate Bible in English?
  3. Nathaniel, thanks for joining. Praise the Lord about your salvation, that is the best decision that you can ever make. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We try and discuss things in a mature manner rather than debate and argue with each other. We do not always succeed, but we try.

  4. As many know Linda McMahon is running for a Senate seat in my home state. Linda McMahon is the former WWE wrestling executive and wife of Vince McMahon who currently serves as the chairman and CEO of professional wrestling promotion World Wrestling Entertainment.

What does this have to do with this thread? Well, Connecticut's polling places are being told they can ask people wearing World Wrestling Entertainment apparel to cover up while voting. Why? because "Republican Senate candidate Linda McMahon is so closely associated with WWE, which she left to run for office."

    Anyone else find this interesting?

Disclaimer: I do not own any WWE clothes, but stuff like this make me want to go buy some and then go vote. Well, maybe not, but you get the point.

  5. First lady Michelle OBama appears to have violated Illinois law -- when she engaged in political discussion at a polling place!

The drama began after Mrs. OBama stopped off at the Martin Luther King Center on the south side of Chicago to cast an early vote.

After finishing at the machine, OBama went back to the desk and handed in her voting key.

She let voters including electrician Dennis Campbell, 56, take some photos.

"She was telling me how important it was to vote to keep her husband's agenda going," Campbell said.

According to a pool reporter from the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES at the scene, the conversation took place INSIDE the voting center, not far from the booths.

Illinois state law -- Sec. 17-29 (a) -- states: "No judge of election, pollwatcher, or other person shall, at any primary or election, do any electioneering or soliciting of votes or engage in any political discussion within any polling place [or] within 100 feet of any polling place."

A top Ilinois State Board of Elections official tells the DRUDGE REPORT that Mrs. OBama -- a Harvard-educated lawyer -- may have simply been ignorant of the law and thus violated it unintentionally.

"You kind of have to drop the standard for the first lady, right?" the official explained late Thursday. "I mean, she's pretty well liked and prOBably doesn't know what she's doing."

    WHITE HOUSE DEFENDS ELECTIONEERING

When questioned about the brazen nature of Mrs. OBama's campaigning, press secretary ROBert Gibbs defended the action.

"I don't think it would be much to imagine, the First Lady might support her husband's agenda," Gibbs smiled.
