  1. I think we can give chev1958 the award for Bookworm Champion. He owns the top score on the first 4-1/2 pages. Brother, I tip my hat. :th_tiphat:

  2. Why does it seem like every year goes by faster and faster? Maybe it has to do with my age. Nah, that can't be it.

I just wanted to add an announcement to say "Thank you" to all of you members here on Online Baptist. Of course I am being bias here, but I believe that we have the greatest membership of any Baptist forum. This past year Online Baptist went through a major software change, and even though some of you did not like it, you still supported OB through this change. I think you all have grown to like it though.

In 2010 I really do not have any major plans for Online Baptist (Of course that can change in an instant). Instead of concentrating on features, I plan on concentration on increasing the Online Baptist membership. I will be doing some marketing toward IFB this coming year. I would love to hear any ideas that you may have.

If you would like to help promote Online Baptist we do have a few ways that make it easier for you than asking someone to join. One way is social networking. At the bottom of every thread you will see the following.

This makes if very easy for you to add the thread that you enjoy to facebook, Digg, Buzz, Stumbleupon, Twitter, etc. If you already have an account with one of the social networking sites, you can share the thread with others just by clicking one of the links. It is a great way to share with others threads that you enjoy.

Another area is members that used to be active and are not active anymore. If you are ready an older post and a username comes up that you remember, go ahead and send them an email. It will be good to have back some of those members.

Again, thank you all for being part of Online Baptist. We have something special going on here.

  3. Here's some advice: 1 Thessalonians 5:22

Please consult your Bible, KJV only, of course. Or ask a reputable preacher, not a woman on the internet.

I agree with you with 1 Thessalonians 5:22, but I will say I have seen a lot better Scriptural advice coming from 12 year old girls than I have from you. :icon_mrgreen:

  4. Roadmap Through Revelation will be available for purchase on Tuesday night at midnight (or Wednesday the 24th).

I really appreciate the amount of people that showed interest in this project, I hope it will be a blessing to you.

Here’s a link for more info on it:

Here’s where you’ll be able to buy it (at first):

If you would like you can add it to the classifieds section. It might give you more exposure.
  5. I know this is a very old thread, but something funny happened to me today. Living in the "hood", I wanted to read more about the ebonics bible that I keep hearing about, so I Googled it. I clicked a link and what do you know, the search lead me right to Online Baptist. I guess I do not need Google, OB has it all.

Anyways, if anyone is wondering what the ebonics bible is all about, please proceed to the link below.

That Big Daddy is a popular guy in this book. What I want to know is what kind of idiot sat down and wrote this stuff down?

BTW: This thread does not read properly in the order it was originally posted. A conversion messed up the order. Blame this one on Big Daddy (ME).

  6. First question: Did you watch this show?
    No I did not

Some traditional and Christian folks are upset with the immodest dress of Sarah and her daughters. I've also heard comments on the radio today from those saying Palin's children have shown a great deal of disrespect to her and that she should have done something about this. There are also comments being made with regards to the language Sarah Palin uses.
Does this really surprise anyone? Sure we all know she is conservative in politics, but who ever said she was a Godly woman?

Do you think the program is a good idea in general and do you plan to watch this program over the several weeks it's on?
    Maybe I'll watch it.

Do you think it's a good idea to have your family under such scrutiny?
Sarah put herself in this situation, do I think it is a good idea? No, but she has other reasons for being on the show.
