It is the only English Bible to pass the 400 year test.

It shows me how to love and treat others.

Welcome to Online Baptist Shane.
-
I'll slowly be be adding to this list. Hopefully this will help our new members enjoy and understand Online Baptist a little better.
- Do I have to be a Baptist to join?
No, but we do ask that you follow the rules. We have members here that are not Baptist, and believe it or not, they do not bite. - How do I get access to the IFB forums?
Send BroMatt a private message or an email and he will get you in if you are an IFB. - How do I get rid of the ads.
We have two forms of ads, one is the Google ads and the other is the in-text ads. Guests get all the ads shown and members get limited ads. All members get the Google ad at the bottom of the page, and members with over 100 posts do not get the in-text ads. So members with 100 posts or more only get the footer ad. Posting has its rewards.

Where in the Bible does it say consuming alcohol is wrong? No one can point to a Scripture that says that. It takes intellectual gymnastics and taking one's own view of alcohol and then reading Scripture in a manner to fit one's view to get that out of the Bible.
The Bible universally speaks against drunkeness. Every Scripture cited that I haver read condemns drunkeness, but says nothing about total abstinance. In ancient culture, it would have been extremely rare for someone to use unfermented fruit of the vine in a Passover meal. Jesus drank wine. So did his disciples. He made the best wine at the wedding. He commanded the Jewish nation to use it in the feast of the Passover, and for OT priests to use it in their rituals.
Already been posted.
Let's go ahead and break down every verse here that Dennis posted. Let's go through each one.
Just because the Bible used the word "Wine" it does not mean that it was fermented. Some cases it is, others it is not.
After his post all I need is the verses ignored. -
That is great. If you get some time can you scan the flyer and post the picture here. It may give other churches ideas for next year.
-
If drinking alcohol is Biblically ok, then the Bible contradicts itself. If the Bible contradicts itself, what good is it?

Welcome to Online Baptist.
I do not know how far this church is from you. http://www.cbckn.org it is located in KnOB Noster.
I do not know anything about the church so don't take my word for it. Other than that, you can check our older Church Directory for any IFB churches. -
Because it tell us the wonderful story of Salvation the way God wanted us English speaking folks to read it.
-
Because what part of preserve don't you understand? :)

-
Because we can come up with more than 1,611 reasons why it is better than MV's.

Yep, scary they shoved the Buckeyes up to #2...I never like the Buckeyes ranked high at the beginning of the season.
I know what you mean. Whenever Uconn starts the season ranked in the top 10 I get nervous as it usually means they will start losing. This year they started the season unranked and moved up to 6 in the coaches poll. -
Woo-hoo, Uconn keeps moving up in the polls. :woohoo:

In a previous topic I attempted to compare the language that Christians casually use when referring to homosexuals with the language we might use if talking about immoral women in the same way. I did this because both groups attract a lot of vulgar slang and yet I only see such language getting used on this forum when it comes to homosexuals. Just look up 'queer' or 'fag' in the search engine if you don't believe me.
Now someone has used the word 'hussy'--which just means immoral woman--about a woman they believe is immoral and they have been banned. It looks like double-standards.
I'll sent you a PM. You are mistaken, please check your Message box. -
How in the world does Uconn get a BCS bowl? Gotta love the BCS system.
Go Uconn. Only 7 years in Division I and they are heading to a BCS bowl game. I'm just hoping they can keep the other team under 100 points. -
No joy.
You are right John. It never is fun banning anyone. Unfortunately the line was crossed and the board rules where being ignored. -
That is great. I love the "The End".
-
It is in the Bible forum.

I love it because it is the only Bible I need. Nothing else can take its place.
-
Because it is how God speaks to me.

Many of you have already contributed to the "1,611 reasons why we love the KJV" project. We need more. Post your reason today.
So far here is the break down of who posted reasons.
