  1. I know you were asking God, but what's going on my friend?
  2. Same here. Our only grandchild is 7 months old. @Joe Chandler That must be a great feeling
  3. Great article and thanks for sharing. I don't think this is a topic that we'll ever stop studying...there's a lot to digest and you are correct in some are confused by the rapture concept.
  4. It's awful when babies get sick as there is not much they can do to communicate. We're praying for the little guy.
  5. I've never heard of CRU before, Is that mostly a New Zealand thing?
  6. Okay, we'll be praying for you folks. If I hear anybody looking to pastor, I'll pass them on the information
  7. Unfortunately, this is becoming too common. Metal illness needs to be address in our society today, and that should start in our Christian homes.
  8. Any one see this Super bowl commercial? While I understand the anti hate message they were trying to get across, I think they did it the wrong way. First of Who's feet did Jesus wash?
  9. You have every type of Baptist Checked in your bio. I'd love to hear what your beliefs are?
  10. How about a map tracing the path of a biblical journey, like Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt or Paul's missionary travels, or Hidden objects: Paint various biblical figures, animals, or symbols within the mural and create a scavenger hunt for people to find them. Of course I'm saying this and I have no artistic ability to make my thoughts happen.
  11. Sorry, we do not have one here, but I can send you a church or two in Ct looking for a Pastor
  12. Is the title click bate? Hey everyone, I'm curious about something and wanted to get your thoughts. In your part of the world, do you often see non-independent Baptist churches celebrating new members who have recently left the IFB? Here it almost seems like a goal for them, and I find it intriguing. Personally, I've never made a big deal about a non-IB member joining our church, but I'm interested in hearing about different experiences. Is it a common practice or more of a rare occurrence? I'm only asking because over here when that happens some churches just put them on a pedestal and brag that he/she just left a independent Baptist Church.
  13. We're also limited in room so we keep it in a closet and set it up when needed. It's modular.
  14. Denver, Colorado - A Colorado pastor, Eli Regalado, has found himself on the wrong side of the law, facing charges of securities fraud and other offenses related to a cryptocurrency scheme that allegedly defrauded investors of millions of dollars. Regalado, who led an online church, marketed a cryptocurrency called INDXcoin to his followers, promising them financial blessings and claiming divine guidance for his digital currency venture. Heavenly Promises, Earthly Losses: The Colorado Division of Securities filed a civil complaint against Regalado and his wife, Kaitlyn, accusing them of violating state securities laws. The complaint alleges that the couple: Created and sold INDXcoin without registering it with the state. Made false and misleading statements about the value and potential of INDXcoin. Used their religious authority to gain trust and exploit investors. Pocketed millions of dollars in investor funds for personal use. From Pulpit to Courtroom: The investigation into Regalado began after the Division of Securities received complaints from investors who had lost money in INDXcoin. The investigation revealed that Regalado and his wife had raised nearly $3.2 million from more than 300 investors. They allegedly spent much of the money on themselves, including luxury cars, vacations, and home improvements. Divine Defense or Desperate Deception? Regalado has denied the allegations and claims that he was acting on God's instructions when he created INDXcoin. He has also said that he has no experience in finance or cryptocurrency and that he was simply trying to help his followers. Impact Beyond the Faithful: The case has raised concerns about the potential for fraud in the cryptocurrency market and the role of religious leaders in financial matters. It has also highlighted the importance of investor education and due diligence before investing in any cryptocurrency. What's Next for the Pastor and His Flock? Regalado and his wife are scheduled to appear in Denver District Court next week. They could face significant penalties if they are found guilty of the charges against them. Beyond the Local: The case has been widely covered by the media, including articles in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and CNN. It has sparked discussions about the intersection of faith, finance, and fraud, with many questioning how a religious leader could allegedly use their position to exploit trust for personal gain. A Call for Caution: This case serves as a stark reminder to all investors, to approach any investment opportunity with caution and skepticism. Do your research, seek professional advice, and never invest based solely on promises of quick riches or divine intervention. Additional Information: The Colorado Division of Securities has issued a warning to investors about INDXcoin and urges anyone who has invested in the cryptocurrency to contact them. The case has sparked ongoing conversations about cryptocurrency regulation and the need for investor protection in the rapidly evolving digital asset market.
  15. That is so awesome, praise the Lord Have you looked at getting your own baptistry? We bought one from https://www.portablebaptistry.com a few years back and it works great for us.
  16. Time to update your resume with "Professional Stunt Performer"!
  17. This year, we thought it'd be fun to interview our kids. So, I'm gonna be the one asking them questions on camera. We're gonna then play the video during the service when we're giving honor to the moms and dads. Should be pretty funny!
  18. Clarence Sexton dealt with some health issues in the months before he passed away, being in (I heard) 5 different hospitals. Sadly, on December 12, he couldn't overcome them. His family posted on social media but did not say what those health issues were.
  19. Each year our theme deals with an area that we need spiritual strenghting in. Our preaching is done with mostly expository with some topical thrown in. On our pulpit we have the saying on it... "Just preach Jesus". I've heard preaching that was about opinions on both expository and topical preaching. If a pastor has an agenda, it will come out regardless of the type of preaching/teaching.
  20. Alright, what are your church themes for 2024. Last year for us it was "Bring the Book" from Neh 8:1 And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel. This year for us it will be "I Shall Not Be Moved": from Ps 62-5-8 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
