Thanks Rob and Jerry! I guess I am too old fashioned in a sense,  but I did break down and watched it with the youth group. Our group is held on Friday night, so it didn't interfere with the services. It did have a good message. I guess I have to realize times have changed. Lord bless

On a Friday night, we watched "Courageous" with our Youth. After the movie, we held a Bible Study session where we used Scripture to support the message conveyed in the film.

  2. I want to talk about something that's been on my mind lately: pastors hiring staff from other churches. It happens, but is it really fair? A few times, pastors have reached out to me about offering our Youth Pastor a job as a Youth Pastor in their church. While I appreciate them asking me instead of doing it secretly, I still feel like it's not right to recruit from other churches for the same job. Every time it's happened, it's been a big church asking our only staff member to leave and join them. Pastors have told me not to make our Youth Pastor feel guilty for leaving,  that they really need them, and that this is normal practice in churches so don't worry about it.

Is this something you've seen in your area?

    Follow up,
It’s has been a year now, roughly.  Have you made any adjustment to your worship service and are members still foot tapping? 😇

We're still the same. We're too contemporary for some, and too conservative for others. We're just going to try to please God.

  4. Agree or disagree with the following:

"Nondenominational" refers to religious organizations or congregations that do not align themselves with any particular established denomination or sect within a religion. However, despite not affiliating with a specific denomination, nondenominational groups can still be considered a denomination themselves, albeit with some nuances.

    Here's why:

    1. Distinct Identity: Nondenominational churches or religious groups often have their own distinct identity, beliefs, practices, and organizational structures. While they may not adhere to the specific doctrines of a particular denomination, they still form a cohesive group with shared beliefs and practices.

    2. Organizational Structure: Although they may not have hierarchical structures like denominations, nondenominational groups often have their own leadership, clergy, and organizational frameworks. They may have local congregations, national headquarters, and sometimes even international networks.

    3. Theological Perspectives: While nondenominational groups may claim to be nonsectarian and open to a variety of theological perspectives, they typically have a set of core beliefs or doctrines that distinguish them from other groups. These beliefs may not align precisely with any one denomination but still serve to define the group's identity.

    4. Community and Fellowship: Like denominations, nondenominational groups provide a sense of community and fellowship for their members. They often gather for worship, religious education, social activities, and community service, creating a cohesive religious community.

    5. Recognition and Affiliation: While nondenominational groups may eschew formal denominational labels, they often seek recognition from legal and regulatory bodies, such as tax-exempt status from government authorities. They may also affiliate with broader networks of nondenominational churches or organizations for support and cooperation.

In summary, while nondenominational groups may not fit neatly into traditional denominational categories, they still exhibit many characteristics of denominations, including distinct identity, organizational structure, theological perspectives, community, and recognition. Thus, they can be considered a denomination in their own right, albeit one that emphasizes independence and flexibility in religious practice and belief.

I dont post opinion, i only used the KJV, and i dont normally post chapter and verse, as what i find on forums is that everyone posts verses, they can't teach.

What i do is teach the verses, and if a person is really familiar with the KVJ, then when they read what im teaching, they will recognize the verses in my sentences, and they know that its all related to Paul's Theology.

So, when i post.."as many as be perfect", as i did in the Thread we are discussing, then someone who is very familiar with the KJV, will recognize that this is Paul, from Philippians 3:15

Or when they read, "work our your salvation"... then anyone who knows some bible, and studies the KJV< knows that "work out your salvation" is a partial verse that comes from Paul. Philippians 2.

And when  i wrote "The righteousness of God in Christ" then anyone who is familar with the KJV, will know that this is Paul's verse....

    2 Corinthians 5:21..

So, i can write the Chapter and verse, but, as this isn;'t a Forum for 12 yr old Sunday School students....and i think is a forum full of  ADULT Baptist's who all use the KVJ, then i would HOPE that recognizing Paul's verses, should be very simple to do, and having to post the Chapter and verse.....would not be necessary.

SO, anyone who is reading my Thread, it would be great if someone could actually respond to the Topic, itself.

    Looking forward to that one.

You are making a big assumption who the readers here are. This is a public (open) forum that has readers of all levels of spiritual maturity. I've never in my life have I had a Christian give me a hard time about posting Scripture. You are missing the point. I'm actually trying to help you.

Also, Are we required to post the Chapter, Verse, and bible version?

It is not a requirement, but it most definitely is helpful and Biblically beneficial for anyone reading this thread.

So....I did use scripture.  I used at least 4  partial scriptures, but i didn't post the Chapter and verse or Bible version.

From my above reply, it will show someone where in the Bible how you came to that conclusion. I tell my church all the time to always study the verses in the Bible that I teach and preach from so that they can study it for themselves. It is important that Biblical issues be Biblically studied, and the best way of doing that is by posting the Scripture references.

If you read carefully, you'll note the verses.

I did and all I read was opinions of the Bible, not FROM the Bible.

Now if you have a legit question regarding the Thread's topic, or if you have a disagreement with the teaching, then i am happy to discuss it with you.

I believe that asking where in the Bible you are speaking from IS a legit question. It makes me wonder if you want us to go to the Bible or just listen to you.

King James Version is the Bible used here. If I am not mistaken that is in the forum rules.

    Correct that is board rules

Nah. The CURRENT meaning is to restock. The original meaning - in old english, as was used for the KJB - is simply "to fill." Not refill nor restock nor fill back up. Plainly and simply, no species existed until God created them as recorded in Gen. 1.  Saying otherwise says that death occurred before sin. And that did not happen...the Bible is clear that death came through Adam. Not before.

That is correct. the English language is constantly changing. Back in 1611 the word "Replenish" meant "to fill", and today in 2024 it means to restock.

    "Are you a CHRISTIAN". ???????

And they will say...>"Yes, im a Baptist, Yes im a Catholic, Yes im a Methodist....,Yes Im a Assembly of God... Yes im a Mormom..

Nothing unbiblical with the term denomination and of course Denomination does not equal Salvation, it's just a set of theological beliefs. What is your definition of Denomination? I think you are confused by the definition of denomination.

Take a look at the full context. No insult, just plain, hard biblical truth! We brought NOTHING to the table regarding our salvation! This was my point! Disagree with it and you are a heretic! Not an insult, this is the whole of scripture from Genesis to Revelation in the book you are waving around and claiming to believe!

I don't understand what you are saying. "We"? ... so you're disagreeing with yourself as well as rest of us?

I started out respectful here. You made me otherwise.

Sir, we don't control your actions and choice of words. As far as I'm aware, you are an adult and you are accountable for what comes out of your own mouth.

I'll inactive your account according to our board rules. Just because someone does not agree with you does not make anyone a heretic. You are always welcome to post here, sorry to hear that you can agree to disagree and discuss topics in a civil way. Just for the record you were never warned or banned and is leaving on your own accord.

Edited to add that I was mistaken that you have never been warned. I see a Mod warned you back in December. My apologies for that error.

I really could care less about whether you agree or disagree with the historic doctrines of grace but you and everyone else here are intentionally misrepresenting and slandering the position and making complete donkeys of yourselves as a result.

Looking in from the outside (not involved in the thread), it did not seem to come across respectful. Just my opinion.

Sorry, I am reluctant to do so. I am avoiding personal messages. I really just will appreciate your prayers.

Please do not falsely accuse us of leaking your personal information, but then at the same time refusing to talk to anyone via PM.

  12. Someone requested the following. If anyone has any idea where they can find the following, please reply back to this thread. Thank you

I’m looking for two messages that Bro Terry Pace preached entitled Traveling The Emmaus Road and Elijah’s Say So. Would anyone know where I might find these?

Thank you for love and care @Pastor Matt. I don't have privacy. I posted intentionally for verification for who ever wishes.

You accused someone here of contacting the authorities when we didn't have your personal information or even know your name. Since then you posted your DL so that the public will have your personal information. Doesn't make any sense to me.
