  2. Let Us Prey: A Ministry of Scandals Unveiling the Dark Secrets of a few in the Independent Fundamental Baptist Church Let Us Prey: A Ministry of Scandals is a powerful and disturbing documentary series that delves into the dark underbelly of some in the Independent Fundamental Baptist (IFB) church. The series follows the stories of several survivors who were sexually abused by leaders within their churches. The documentary series features interviews with survivors of abuse, as well as experts on the IFB church. The survivors share their harrowing stories of how they were groomed and abused by their pastors and other church leaders. The series also explores how some in the IFB church's culture of secrecy and silence has allowed abuse to continue for many years. Church leaders often pressure victims not to come forward, and they may even threaten them with excommunication. The Importance of Let Us Prey: A Ministry of Scandals Let Us Prey: A Ministry of Scandals is an important documentary series that sheds light on a dark chapter in the history of the IFB church. The series gives a voice to survivors of abuse and helps to raise awareness of the problem of sexual abuse within the church. The series is also a reminder that no one is immune to sexual abuse. Abuse can happen to anyone, regardless of their age, gender, or religious beliefs. It is important to speak out against abuse and to seek help if you or someone you know has been abused.
  3. Has anyone seen any episodes yet? "Let Us Prey examines the pain of survivors' IFB members Ruthy Heiler, Kathy Durbin and Amanda Householder. Tell their stories of abuse at the hands of church leaders and the violence, manipulation and alleged cover-ups by other members." https://www.imdb.com/title/tt29926213/
  4. If God convicts you not to have a Christmas tree, then you should NOT have a tree in your house. Period, no questions asked! God has not told me that. I have a tree. Simple, not a real one this year.
  5. Welcome to OB, thank you for sharing your testimony with us
  6. I have known Jerry (online only) for many years now. Many of his posts has encouraged me and caused me to dig deeper in the Word of God, Keep on Keeping on Jerry!!
  7. Welcome to OB. I'm not questioning the truth in your post. As someone who knows Pastor Wilkerson, I would be interested in reading/listening to what he had to say. Is Pastor Wilkerson's statement publicly available?
  8. I can only speak for myself as I have to give an account of my actions. Unfortunately you'll hear more about the hate in Christians than the love. I guess you can use the old saying...The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
  9. The 'Long Haired Hippie' comment was a bit of an exaggeration. When I read this article, the first thing I thought was that the guy who wrote this finally found what he was looking for to criticize. It came off as someone with an ax to grind. I agree that it really doesn't bother me what this church does or does not do. This was posted for discussion purposes.
  10. Has any one seen this first hand? I've also heard from second hand information that they were using NIV on the screen. https://www.oldpathsjournal.com/post/fbc-hammond-hyles-anderson-college-accept-compromise?fbclid=IwAR0IMJJhsCvcRW_WEib8IN5h4QftlPyxYVivruABzjqWANUw645Rjn4r7uQ
  11. Praying for the family. I was saddened when I heard this news. I forgot that Dan Armacost married a Rinehart. I heard the Armacost's were going to Mynmar, do you know who they'll be working with there? I saw him a couple summers ago, but that was before he announced him leaving for the mission field
  12. My apologies, I got my cities mixed up; I did fly into Chattanooga. I'll attach a picture I took at the airport to show my wife. I work for Newcomb Spring and was at our Tennessee plant next to the Resurrection Lutheran Church. I did eat at Jack's on 317, how come everyone down south talks about biscuits? ?
  13. Here in New England we started fall activities over a month ago. Our church has our annual fall festival on the first Sunday of October.
  14. @BrotherTony I actually spent most of my time in collegedale, but stayed at a hotel over in Ringgold Georgia. It was a quick trip, but if I'm back there again I'll definitely let you know
  15. For work, I had to go to Murfreesboro, Tennessee for a few days (I wish I had had time to visit some of you Tennessee folks). ? While it is beautiful, and I enjoyed it, it made me really appreciate New England. ? It all comes down to being where God wants you, and I'm thankful it is in Connecticut, which is the basketball capital of the world. ? BTW, the airport in Murfreesboro has to be one of the tiniest airports around.
  16. Consider yourself thankful, we've been almost full-blown Christmas in our stores for the last month
  17. Yes, he can reply. Currently, it's his choice not to.
  18. What makes you assume the pastor is the one that assigned that spot?
