  1. A bit earlier this morning, my pastor Randy Hoxie (Faith Baptist Church in Chilliwack, BC) had a heart attack and is undergoing surgery in a hospital in Vancouver right now. Please pray for the blockage to be removed and for the Lord to heal his heart (with no complications). Thank you in advance for any prayers.

  2. The arguments given here against Calvinism are profound, and scripturally true. But I am a simple man and to me it all boils down to a very simple argument and verse. If Calvinism is true, then God deliberately creates THIS person for Heaven and then He deliberately creates THAT person for hell. 1 John 4:8 tells us that God is love. I'm sure that person that the Calvinistic god deliberately created for hell sure sees the Calvinistic god as love. I just cannot cross over that very simple hurdle. And no Calvinistic argument can change my mind. God is love. And He wants to share that love with whosever will. My loving God has NEVER created anyone for hell. If that is where you end up it was entirely your choice.

  3. If she was teaching a class to other women and/children (or teens), that is okay - but not if she was teaching a class with men in it. This is referring to a political leader specifically, but when women and children lead a country, it is a sign of judgement of God on that nation. Isaiah 3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

    Prayer Request

A couple of months ago, I reunited with a childhood friend, Ron, who I became emotionally close to (no physical contact, which he respected).I began to share my faith in Christ with him, and he was open to it, but then suddenly after he admitted some skeletons from his past, he shut down and decided he couldn't live up to the man he wanted to be for me. He took off and I never heard from him again. I emailed him, but he ignored. I miss him very much.

  5. The devil hates and wants to destroy the family. Feminism, Femininization of men, masculinization of women, domination by women, open disrespect and vilification of men by society, abuse of women and children, our education system, government and our judicial system are all part of the many ploys and avenues the devil uses to destroy the family. Destroying God's order at the very basic level, in the home, I think is the most devastating. But he even works in churches; not just by the teaching of the wrong things, but failing to teach some of the right things. (1 Peter 4:17)

  6. Deuteronomy 30:19 says..... 19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: So, why did God(same God) give people the option to "choose" life if He already has made the choice for them?

  7. Belief was totally selfish, on my part. I don't see how Calvinists can say our belief is 'taking credit" for salvation; unless they have never really been saved themselves.

  10. Salvation being 100% of God doesn’t negate man’s response - and that’s where they get it wrong. The Holy Spirit enlightens us to the truth; convicts us of our sin, our unrighteousness, and our need for the Saviour, enables us to understand the truth of who Jesus is and what He has done to save us, and shows us that salvation is not something that can be earned through anything we can do. Man responds either positively or negatively to this. If we receive the truth by receiving the Saviour and His free gift of salvation, the Holy Spirit then regenerates and indwells us, we are adopted into the family of God, given an inheritance in Christ and a future home in Heaven. That’s all by His grace - but we need to receive it, and God doesn’t force man to believe or be saved. That is up to us - and yes, He even calls and compels us - but we still need to receive the Gospel to be saved.

  11. There are some people that do say that. It is not the typical denomination in the sense that IFB's do not have a headquarters dictating to them what to believe, what to preach, what to do. Though we are a denomination in the sense that we are Baptists and are likeminded to many other IFB churches (though not 100% - each studies the Bible on their own and is led by their own leadership, so some conclusions and basic understanding of issues/doctrine may differ).

  15. Actually, you are dead wrong and teaching falsehood. The Bible teaches repentance from sin and repentance are both necessary for faith. Again, with the straw men. Repentance is not cleaning up your life - it is changing your mind about your sin and turning from it in your heart. If it is true repentance, it WILL reflect in the life - but the changed life is the result of true repentance, not the repentance itself. Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. If repentance was turning from unbelief, then that verse above would not make sense: believe so you can believe. Matthew 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: Luke 17:3-4 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. Oh, it's ok, brother, you sinned against me, but now you believe, so we are all good (though you never made that sin right, hm). Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. God is not going to wipe away your sin until you repent of that sin. Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; Hm, same idea here. Acts 5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. Acts 8:22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. Repent of your UNBel... wait, wickedness! Acts 20:21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Um, believe and believe? Acts 26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. 2 Corinthians 12:21 And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed. Here, Paul is talking to believers - but the word means the same, and it is not repent of unbelief, but of specific sins. Revelation 2:21-22 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. Revelation 9:20-21 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts. Six examples of UNBELIEF they were to repent of!! Oh wait, those are examples of specific sins... Doh!!

  17. Once again, I’m a simple man and there are just some very simple hurdles I cannot get over to carry me into a Calvinist mindset. Throughout the Bible following God and salvation are given as choices, not a foregone conclusion already settled by God; and I’m not even touching on all the “whosoever” verses that infer choice. Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. From the very beginning Adam and Eve were given a choice. They did not have to eat that fruit. Unfortunately man has been making poor choices ever since. Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:22 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses. YE have chosen??? Huh. Not God has chosen? That’s odd if it’s all predetermined. 1 Kings 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. Here is a choice between two opinions. Elijah asks them to choose. Psalms 119:30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. David chose the way of truth. Interesting. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Trust in the Lord, or lean on our own understanding. If we trust in the Lord He will direct our paths. That is a choice we must make. Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Why did Jesus mention a choice of two gates if it was already predetermined which gate each person would take? Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. IF???? How could Jesus possibly say IF if our salvation status is predetermined. Why would God’s word make so many references to our choosing to follow Him if it is all predetermined? Is God deceiving us? I can’t, and won’t, believe that; so I must believe that we do indeed have a choice. We can choose the straight gate of salvation, or the wide gate of destruction. Sounds pretty simple to me. My oldest son is 33 years old. For a good part of his life (since he was five until he went in the Navy at 17) he had gone to solid Bible believing churches and been fed sound doctrine there and at home. Early on he professed to be saved, but it was not true. It wasn’t long into his Navy life that he came home and told us what we already surmised: he was not saved. Since that time, he went to college and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in chemistry. Obviously, being in the sciences, he was inundated with all the evolutionary arguments and led away from any possibility of a creation account. That along with his philosophy courses and a period of time when he deliberately read nothing but books that spoke against there being a god (Dawkins, Nietzsche, and others), has made him someone who on the surface seems an Atheist. But is he, or is he just kicking against the pricks? For one, he knows the Bible better than many Christians I know. He also knows the Quran quite well and has these two, along with other spiritual books, prominent on his reference shelf at home (right among his science books). He has a strong Christian ethic and behaviors. I often refer to him as the best unsaved Christian you could ever meet. Train up a child in the way he should go… His ex-wife went off the deep end and left him 1 ½ years ago and for a short period of time he went to his counselor's 7th Day Adventist church hoping to find peace and comfort. He could not continue with that because he knows the Bible too well and couldn’t buy what they were selling. He has rejected offers to come to our church. My personal belief is because he knows he’ll be brought closer to God than he is ready for. I say all this first in the hopes that many here will pray for my son, Jacob. That he will choose Christ and get saved. Secondly, to show that God has been calling my son and he has been rejecting that call. Jacob is obviously searching to fill a spiritual hole within himself, but has been choosing to spiritually go the way of the world. I do not believe he is predestined for hell or for heaven. I believe God is calling him. The CHOICE is his. Please pray with me that he makes the right choice before it is too late.

  21. Calvinists always seem to try this tripe trying to make "spiritual death", ie, spiritual separation from God, mean the same thing as physical death...not even comparable. Spiritual separation from God, or "spiritually dead" isn't anywhere near the same. Salvation, even in the Calvinist ideology, requires a decision...but, of course, through the In the Calvinist interpretation, we find that this decision has already been made for the participant "from before the foundation of the world." This isn't a "decision" but a forceful bringing into Christianity. It negates over 50% of Scripture concerning salvation.

  23. Yes, As the passage stated He was 30 when He began His public ministry. By comparing all the feasts in the Gospel of John, most people believe His ministry was about 3 1/2 years long - that makes Him between 33-34 years old when He died (as has been stated by others here too). As far as the exact years Jesus was born and died, they are still 33-34 years apart - regardless of what year some historian or Bible Critic has as the starting date. What is important is what the Bible gives as the chronology of His life. The same difficulty comes about when you try to date the events in the book of Acts - many different writers have differing starting dates (of what year Jesus died) - but there is an internal timeline that you can still come up with that does not depend on these conflicting dates, and which will still give you an accurate timeline of overall events (within a few months to a year). If you make note of how long between each event, etc. you can still know this was 5 years after Pentecost, this was 3 years and six months after that, this was … and so on. (Making general time references as I do not have my Bible in front of me right now.) Now I have my notes… For example, one passage says Paul was at a certain place teaching for three years, another says he was in jail for two years, and so on. Put all the references together and you can make a framework of dates within the book of Acts itself, regardless of the starting date. Paul got saved on the Damascus road two years after Pentecost, then he spent three years training with Jesus in the Arabian Desert… If your starting date was the year 32 (based on Robert Anderson’s conclusions in The Coming Prince), that makes it about 34 AD when Paul got saved in Acts 9, and about the year 37 when he finished his three years of discipleship with Jesus in Acts 9:23. It takes a bit of time, but the rest of Acts can be dated this way - and when you find an author/commentator that has a different starting date, you can just start counting from there - ie. +2 years to Paul’s salvation, +3 years until he cam back from Arabia (see Galatians 1:15-18), +10 more years when Barnabas and Saul/Paul came back from Jerusalem in Acts 12:25, then +3-4 more years till the Jerusalem counsel in Acts 15:1 - see also Galatians 2:1), and so on. Sorry for the long comments, but this is something I have put some effort into and tried to figure out how to have a working framework for studying with.

  24. [21] Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, [22] And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. [23] And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,- Luke 3:21-23 The Lord's ministry lasted around three years so he was most likely 33 maybe 34 when he was crucified.

  25. Many churches calling themselves non denominational I've seen are very very similar to charismatic Anglicans or Methodists. They say they are non denom yet have almost exactly the same statement of faith as a denomination. Their non denominational idea is not to go back to scripture, but to do things their own way. But then also you can get the rare non-denominational church that just goes by the bible and matches very closely or the same as an IFB church. That's because they have the same stance of letting the bible govern their beliefs.

O God, Our Help in Ages Past Isaac Watts and William Croft 1 Our God, our Help in ages past, our Hope for years to come, our Shelter from the stormy blast, and our eternal Home. 2 Under the shadow of Thy throne Thy saints have dwelt secure; sufficient is Thine arm alone, and our defense is sure. 3 Before the hills in order stood or earth received its frame, from everlasting Thou art God, to endless years the same. 4 A thousand ages in Thy sight are like an ev'ning gone, short as the watch that ends the night before the rising sun. 5 Time, like an ever-rolling stream, bears all its sons away; they fly forgotten, as a dream dies at the op'ning day. 6 Our God, our Help in ages past, our Hope for years to come, be Thou our Guide while life shall last, and our eternal Home!

Be Still, My Soul Katharina von Schlegel and Jean Sibelius 1 Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side; Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain; Leave to thy God to order and provide; In ev'ry change He faithful will remain. Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heav'nly Friend Thro' thorny ways leads to a joyful end. 2 Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake To guide the future as He has the past. Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake; All now mysterious shall be bright at last. Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below. 3 Be still, my soul: the hour is hast'ning on When we shall be forever with the Lord, When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone, Sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored. Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past, All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

    More : Crazy Calvinism

God doesn't give us faith - though He does convict us of sin and gives us the ability to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work of redemption. Yes, salvation is wholly of God, but He does not save us without us responding to the Gospel, without us calling upon Him for salvation. Yes, dead in sin does not equate unable to respond at all. If we were so dead we couldn't do anything like a physically dead person cannot do anything, guess what? A physically dead person cannot sin either.

  41. Well, only a Christian can have "dead faith".. and only a Christian can "fall from Grace".. and only a Christian can "backslide" and only a Christian can have a "shipwrecked" faith. The fact is.... a believer can become very deceived in their head... especially if Calvinism becomes their mind, as in that case, they will begin to blame God for what the devil does to them and to their life. See : Calvinism blames God for it all, as if the Devil does not exist to cause evil.. It can also be that something that really matters to you, such as your child.. .they can die. and then you say...>"why did YOU let that happen, GOD". And you then Hate God.... And then the newbie believers who have no ministry experience, have never won a soul... want to come and blurb.... "well, if they were really born again they would not be like that'.. But yes they would... .as you can't stop being a HUMAN, no matter how long you are saved. So, the fact is... REAL LIFE can harm and its possible for you to blame God and never go back . And THAT has nothing to do with your Salvation, as Salvaiton is Christ on the Cross, and not how you think later, or behave later.

What more can He say than to you He hath said, To you, who for refuge to Jesus hath fled? 2 "Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed, For I am thy God, I will still give thee aid, I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand, Upheld by My gracious, omnipotent hand. 3 "When thro' the deep waters I cause thee to go, The rivers of sorrow shall not overflow, For I will be with thee thy trials to bless, And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress. 4 "When thro' fiery trials thy pathway shall lie, My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply; The flames shall not hurt thee, I only design Thy dross to consume and thy gold to refine."

There Is a Fountain Filled with Blood William Cowper 1 There is a fountain filled with blood Drawn from Immanuel's veins; And sinners, plunged beneath that flood, Lose all their guilty stains, Lose all their guilty stains, Lose all their guilty stains; And sinners, plunged beneath that flood, Lose all their guilty stains. 2 The dying thief rejoiced to see That fountain in his day; And there may I, though vile as he, Wash all my sins away, Wash all my sins away, Wash all my sins away, And there may I, though vile as he, Wash all my sins away. 3 Thou dying Lamb, Thy precious blood Shall never lose its pow'r, Till all the ransomed church of God Are saved, to sin no more, Are saved, to sin no more, Are saved, to sin no more; Till all the ransomed church of God, Are saved, to sin no more. 4 For since by faith I saw the stream Thy flowing wounds supply, Redeeming love has been my theme, And shall be till I die, And shall be till I die, And shall be till I die: Redeeming love has been my theme, And shall be till I die.

    Great Hymn Lyrics

A Mighty Fortress Is Our God Martin Luther 1 A mighty fortress is our God, A bulwark never failing; Our helper He, amid the flood Of mortal ills prevailing. For still our ancient foe Doth seek to work us woe; His craft and power are great, And, armed with cruel hate, On earth is not his equal. 2 Did we in our own strength confide, Our striving would be losing, Were not the right Man on our side, The Man of God's own choosing. Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He; Lord Sabaoth His name, From age to age the same, And He must win the battle. 3 And though this world, with devils filled, Should threaten to undo us, We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us. The prince of darkness grim We tremble not for him; His rage we can endure, For lo! his doom is sure, One little word shall fell him. 4 That word above all earthly powers No thanks to them abideth; The Spirit and the gifts are ours Through Him who with us sideth. Let goods and kindred go, This mortal life also; The body they may kill: God's truth abideth still, His kingdom is forever.

Is this why you're going all around the internet posting accusations of people from each site of leaking your information? I'm going to be frank with you...you're a conman. Pure and simple. You've accused people on the two other sites of doing the same thing, posting the same information you have here. This is spam and phishing. You stated you've been "tortured." You stated on one site several months ago that the problem with your eyes (we notice they're swollen and red) was irritated from some malady, not torture as you've inferred. HONESTY is the best policy, and you've NOT been honest here or on any other site I have seen you posting on.

  50. Having posted above, my ponderings on the matter continued. Thus I present some further thoughts: We often teach our men that some of the most important phrases for a happy home are - Yes, dear; I was wrong, dear; whatever you want, dear. Then we wonder why we have no male leadership in our homes. We say things like - Happy wife, happy life. But is this universally true. What if making my wife happy makes my God unhappy? Will that result in a happy life? Well, it might in the short term; but it definitely will not in the long term. Adam made his wife "happy" when he chose to eat the fruit with her. Did it result in a "happy life?" Not for him, nor for the rest humanity either. Abraham made his wife "happy" when he took her advise to beget a child by Hagar. Did it result in a "happy life?" Not really for him, for her, or for the Middle East unto the present day.
