  1. It amazes me how many people think that the government is the one that gives us freedom. Freedom comes from our creator. If anyone feels that we have not lost any freedom, then they themselves are enslaved to the government.

  2. Huh? Makes no sense. You always had the freedom to stay in the cottage. To now say you have the freedom to read and write is a lie because you always had that freedom as that was always your choice to be in or out of the cottage. Sounds a lot like what Hitler did to gain control. To now call staying in freedom is a lie because you always had that freedom to travel or stay home. That's the mentality I see in dictator leaderships

  4. @jeff_student_of_Jesus.....Strange, I recall a Bible verse that says that only the sick need a physician...SCIENCE! Luke was a physician....SCIENCE! Science is not necessarily bad in and of itself. Medicine (pharmaceuticals) are not necessarily a bad thing. I'm diabetic and have to use insulin. I wouldn't die if I didn't take it, being type II, but it is necessary to regulate m my blood sugar, as are the other two medications for the diabetes. I use an inhaler for my asthma and COPD. Again...medication that is necesary for me to breathe. I believe you're incorrect in your assumptions that people who put their trust in science are wrong. There are some scientific breakthroughs that have been very beneficial to mankind. Maybe you need to be rethinking your premise.

  6. We decided to have one thread about Covid instead of having countless threads covering the same topic. Since this still a hot topic in the world today we don't want not talk about it regardless of beliefs. Whatever you opinion is on covid, this is where you we'll talk about it. All new threads will be closed so please post covid-19 related topics in this thread..

  7. Our present and previous administration has failed us with the vaccine. They turned the vaccine into a political agenda and Biden lied about the vaccine just the other day in the CNN town hall meeting (not the part where he rambles about the men on the moon and aliens), and his administrations has not been transparent about the vaccine. It's all been about votes. Sad!!! Thus the hesitancy. I honesty believe this would be different about the vaccine if our politicians told the truth from the beginning.

  8. Great answer! Yes freedoms are given by God. God uses governments at His discretion to defend those freedom. For a government to do nothing when laws are violated is the same as condoning the illegal activity and threatens the freedom of the people of that nation. Government here in the states is doing nothing on multiple fronts. I won't take advantage of the current administrations lack of mental prowess to act on behalf of their own citizenry, others have aided and abetted them (i.e. Clinton, Obama, G.W. Bush). I pray for their salvation instead.

  9. It also gave you the freedom (excuse) to not attend without drawing criticism. Hebrews 10:25 (KJV) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

  10. Since Covid has a 99.8% recovery rate, it is safe to say that almost no one has died from Covid alone. By the way, the 99.8% recovery rate includes those that died from complications brought on by Covid and/or pre-existing conditions. Most that died died from complications brought on by Covid, would likely have also died from the seasonal Flu; of which, over time, many more have died from than Covid.

  11. As I had posted in one of the forums (believe it was the prayer forum), I went to Illinois this past weekend to meet a brother my other siblings never knew we had. He was found through a blood test by 23 and Me when my baby sister from that side of the family took the blood test to find out if she had any issues in her blood. Little did she know that it would lead to us finding out about this sibling. So, it was by the grace of God that we found out. It had been a lifelong dream of Shawn's to find his birth father. He had taken the tests in hopes of finding out who he was. He was disappointed to find out that Dad had passed away in 2000 from colon cancer, but, was greatly excited by the discovery that he had many siblings from his father's second marriage! My sister Becky, from Pekin, IL, and my sister Michele, whom had flown from Augusta, GA to Peoria, IL, and my wife and I, who of course, drove up to Pekin, IL from Murfreesboro, TN were the only ones who could make the trip to meet Shawn, but this was good! We got to face time with our brother, Mike and his wife Melenda (from outside of Tampa Bay), which made Shawn's day! He has received a very warm, loving embrace from my family. My mother has adopted him as her second son, in line of succession, me being the oldest. Shawn is one year younger than I, with Mike following two years behind Shawn. We showed Shawn around that town we grew up in, ate at our fathers favorite diner in Pekin, IL, the Busy Corner Grill, and spent several hours talking with him at Becky's house and at the hotel where we both stayed during our visit to Pekin. It was a GREAT visit, PTL! We are praying that Shawn and his family (his daughter, son-in-law, son and daughter-in-law, mother and grandchild) will come to know the Lord Jesus Christ. We covet your prayers as we continue to get to know Shawn and the rest of our newfound relatives in Boise. Thank you.

  13. Why me? To elaborate on my answer to Tony, I took the question as general - we the people, rather than specifically Christians. The question of whether we are actually being persecuted for our faith is much harder to answer at this point. But generally - and in my area of the world (because it's also location-dependent), yes. Canadian citizens are guaranteed free passage within Canada - yet this last few months saw us forbidden from entering different provinces - either at all, or without quarantining or vaccination. Canadians are guaranteed freedom of religion, assembly and association in our Charter of Rights - yet in Alberta (which has been the freest province - it's kind of the Texas of Canada ), we have seen limits on church attendance - as low as 5 distanced people - which were not similarly put on other corporations. This is a limit on our freedom of religion, assembly & association. We have been forbidden from having other people - even close family members - in our homes. This is a limit of our freedom of association. We have been forbidden from having outside gatherings of more than people. This is a limit on our freedom of assembly. The Charter allows for these rights to be temporarily removed for pressing reasons (such as a real pandemic), but the government must prove the need for these. In Alberta, several court cases have asked the government to provide this information THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE HAD BEFORE LIMITING ANY CHARTER FREEDOMS, and they do not have it to provide. They stall, ask for more time to gather it (after 14 months of Covid!), and ultimately provided nothing. This means that they have unlawfully removed our Charter rights. In the last few months, our government in Alberta (whether provincial or federal) have restricted, removed the ability to, or required government permission to: Go to church with more than X people - smallest number being 5 (Alberta was the freest province for this. BC, Ontario and Manitoba have had months where churches were not permitted to be open at all.) Sing to God Sing at all Visit family/friends in their home Visit family/friends outside their home Go to a funeral Attend a wedding Check on or visit seniors in their nursing homes Leave your nursing home (if you're a senior) Have family with you as you die Have family with you in the hospital as a child or maternity patient Receive medical care without masking (even if you're allergic to masks or asthmatic or otherwise incapable of wearing one) Visit our national parks/camp outside Purchase necessities Go to school Go to work Open your small business to make a living (particularly restaurants, personal care and gyms) Protest Hold an event/stampede/parade/concert/literally anything Hug your grandma Stand within 6 feet of someone else (this is actually a health order - a kind of law - that we aren't allowed to do this) Travel freely between towns (Alberta has actually been one of the better ones for this - merely 'discouraging' rather then enforcing. In Ontario, they were actively restricting movement between municipalities within the province. With police checks and everything! Travel freely between provinces (Alberta is actually okay for this - BC has discouraged travel with limited enforcement. The Maritimes have closed their borders to visitors and now the unvaccinated completely.) Leave the country by land (can't do it, period.) Enter the country (to fly into Alberta as a Canadian citizen requires a $3000 3-day stay at a sub-par secured hotel facility. If you have failed to get the right test before returning, you may be removed to an undisclosed location for the full quarantine period. This is a requirement - you are not free to go home without risking severe fines. Oh, but if you're not a Citizen? You don't have to do this. It's only for Canadian citizens.) Leave your home after traveling even if not sick Breathe freely This isn't even a full list... I KNOW there's more I'm not remembering, but there's been so many for so long - I'm forgetting them all now! We're not full-blown communist yet, but looking at this list, we hit totalitarian several months ago. Regardless of one's position on the dangers of Covid, allowing a government to exert this level of control is dangerous.

  15. This is a tricky question because under these governments in the Bible nobody had the right to vocally disagree with the government (well, you could but you'd probably lose your head), protest, "redress of grievances", no elections were held except among the elites, no constitutional rights (although, a Roman had special rights beyond a non-Roman). It's true a lot of our freedoms are an illusion but for the most part we have a right under our form of government to oppose on many matters but ultimately a vote among people was to settle the matter. Unfortunately, votes don't matter anymore or at least half of Americans think that. When people think the game is rigged is when the violence comes. Remember the old saying, "Perception can be reality". There's also no doubt there are two sets of standards in America now which can be observed on a daily basis. What the standard of law is now, except in very extreme cases, is whatever is politically expedient for those in power and their wealthy/influential supporters. My opinion, for a believer, it comes down to testimony and saving your own neck. By saving your own neck is you have to decide if your civil disobedience will get you or your family unnecessarily harmed. Not every hill is worth dying upon. Example: Paul could have spoken up about the evils of slavery but would it realistically have changed anything? It probably would have gotten him an early exit from this world and gotten many other Christians harmed. So, better yet, teach subjection to your master and being a testimony of the gospel for him to see so he may be saved. Our main goal in this life is not demanding our rights but being a testimony for Jesus Christ.

  17. Oh I completely agree. I occasionally watch YouTube videos of these guys for entertainment purposes. The compilations they've done on Jim Bakker and his guest's are beyond normal and hilarious watching him trying to sell those food buckets for thousands of dollars. Copeland and hIs crew are on a different level. Between him, his wife, and Billy Bryne (spelling?)...I can't stand to watch them for more than ten minutes.

  18. Copeland cracks me up. I know I should be upset by how he's a deceiver but he's so bonkers I feel anyone who is deceived by him wants to be. The Copeland "mashups" on YouTube are hilarious. I know, I guess I'm carnal in these matters but sometimes you just have to sit back and laugh at these nut cases.

  19. While churches should never try to make an "online virtual church" (not a real church) they also shouldn't exclude any type of media because the great commission compels us to use all mediums to reach the world for Christ. To exclude TV radio, tracts news papers, online video, or audio podcast, etc. just to protest a part of the modern world would be a mistake. In the world but not of the world includes being salt and light online as well as at the door step.

  20. Bill keeps saying he trusts the science but ignores the fact that plenty of scientist are arguing against the vaccine. A while back I posted two of them, one who was world renowned, yet I don't believe anyone, including Bill, watched the videos. Well, Bill, I've decided to trust the censored scientists over Fauci and Gates.

  21. I'm not anti-vax (we researched each vaccine before we gave to our kids and some vaccines we did not allow them to get, they don't need 80 by the time they are 8). I am against government over-control. Our government ignores the thousand of illegal immigrants crossing without checking for covid, but demand American citizens get it? The vaccine is not pushed for your safety, it is pushed with your vote. I know @Bouncing Bill will disagree and I have 0 problem with that. After all, I'm dumb

  22. There is a big difference between what you personally feel God wants you to do as an individual, and someone claiming an objective fact based on their own “conviction”. I suppose the important question is what is ones “conviction” based on. Ones “convictions” might not necessarily correlate with reality always. Just because someone has a “conviction” does not make something factually true. Often peoples “convictions” are based on the current (and sometimes false or misleading) knowledge that we have. There are many people who have “convictions” that are nothing more than them adopting and following the examples they have seen modeled or taught to them by a respected source. These sources may or may not be correct at times. In other words we ought to be careful what we base our convictions on. I guess my point is personal convictions have no bearing on what is or is not true. I mean you having a conviction about something has zero binding authority on any one else nor does your conviction necessarily determine reality. There is a huge difference between having a conviction that you should personally use the KJV and the KJV is perfect. You feeling like you should exclusively use the KJV is not making a declaration about truth or reality for others. I have zero problems with that. Its quite different to assert that the KJV is perfect based on a conviction and to state that conviction as if it has any kind of authority to declare reality or determine truth.

  30. Also a 12 page booklet entitled "God's Way of Forgiveness for Your Sins" that I have compiled myself and that our church has printed by Bethel Baptist Print Ministry in London, Ontario. This booklet contains two primary sections: I. The first five pages - God's Way of Forgiveness for Your Sins (with the following subpoints, and corresponding passages typed out) 1. You must believe the truth of God's Word that you need God's forgiveness for your sins. You must acknowledge that you have sinned against God. You must acknowledge that you deserve God's judgment. You must acknowledge that you cannot save yourself. 2. You must believe the truth of God's Word that God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, is the only way of forgiveness and salvation -- through His shed blood, sacrificial death, and glorious resurrection. You must believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for you and for your sins and sinfulness. You must believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is God the Son, and that He rose again from the dead. You must believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the one and only way of forgiveness and salvation from your sins. You must believe that the Lord Jesus Christ can and will save you from your sins. 3. You must obey the commandment of God's Word to believe and call upon God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, as your personal Savior from sin. You must personally choose from you heart to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. You must personally and purposefully call in faith from your heart unto the Lord Jesus Christ, asking Him to save you from your sins. You should call upon the Lord Jesus Christ in faith and receive Him as your personal Savior right now. (After a few corresponding passages to the last truth, a "Sample Prayer" is included along with the following note: "This prayer is not magical. If you do not mean this prayer from your heart, it will do you no good.") II. The sixth page - My Decision for Christ (An explanation that the decision to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Savior makes one a child of God. A place to record their spiritual birth date. And some corresponding passages to the above truth.) III. The seventh through tenth page - Counsels to The New Born Child of God (with the following subpoints, and corresponding passages typed out) 1. Know that you have eternal life and that you are secure forever in the Lord's hand. 2. Joyfully obey your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in being baptized Biblically as a believer. 3. Give yourself as a living sacrifice to your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to live your life wholly for Him. 4. Speak to your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ every day in prayer. 5. Read from and meditate on the Word of God every day. 6. Faithfully obey the counsels and commands that your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gives to you from His Word (the Bible). 7. Attend a Biblically faithful church (a church that preaches, teaches, and stand for the truth of God's Word) whenever it has services. 8. Confess your sins in prayer to the Lord and ask His forgiveness, whenever you disobey the counsels and commands of His Word. 9. Tell others how the Lord Jesus Christ saved you from your sins, and seek to lead them to receive Him as their personal Savior also. IV. The eleventh page - An invitation to Melvin Baptist Church. V. The twelfth page - a blank page. _____________________________ Front Cover

  31. Yes, but anyone who is a threat to the reset will lose their rights aka be persecuted. There were other groups that suffered along with Christians during the times of persecution. The Muslims killed Christian, Jew, Hindu, pagan and the wrong type of Muslim alike throughout history. The Papists were butchering Jews, Christians, pagans and even Catholics who opposed their "overreach" or whose property they wanted. The Communists treat everyone fairly and murdered everyone equally. When the Antichrist shows up he won't persecute only believers. There will, IMO, be people who will not submit to his authority but who are also not believers.

There is no proof the virus is passed from animals to humans or vice versa. It's just another way for Big Pharma to make more money on the vaccines. More "transfer of wealth!' Jeff, you can't just make blanket statements like you did and not post an article from a conservative and liberal news source to back it up. It doesn't make any sense to ramble on about things you cannot back up with hard evidence. You seem to be doing that quite a bit lately. Your oft rambling statements are hard to follow with their redundency in structure. You do okay at times, but at other times, I just can't follow and wouldn't even want to try to figure out what you're saying. I like "PLAIN SPEECH!"

  34. We have several in our family that listen to Osteen and his wife. They are saved, but they're not very active in church or in anything that has to do with spreading the Word. I appreciate that they like to have some "motivational" messages, but to just totally disregard the whole counsel of God for expediencies sake is detrimental to the Kingdom. Churches are disappearing or turning aside at alarming rates, and people like the Osteens are part of the reason. Christians today are doing just as the Bible said, looking for someone to "tickle their ears" with pleasant messsages and worldly music. It's time for a revival.

  35. So, my 87 year old mother who received the vaccine as soon as it came out has been having health issues. She's been back and forth to the hospital because of breathing problems and a fever which rises at night. The can't figure out what wrong with her fluctuating fever and ran all kinds of tests including the Covid. Now here's the kicker: The doctor told her there is no test to determine if a person has the Delta variant only for the original strain. Which begs the question: How do they know all these cases are a Delta variant if they can't test for it? I'm telling you guys this vaccine may be the pathogen itself for the new variant.

  37. Well, BB, if they ARE Republican, then good for them! They've learned to look at all sources and to come out with the correct conclusions...that this "pandemic" is something that wasn't, that it was nothing more than the hugest transfer of wealth in world history, and also a trial run to see if the public could be scared into submission by world medical establishments and governments. I'm glad to know there is at least a remnant who can still think for themselves and not swallow the government Kool-Aid!

  39. I wish his supporters would listen to him on the vaccination. I saw that Hannity encouraged people to get their vaccine on his show recently. As someone, I don't know who, said, "I trust science more than anything I read on Facebook". There have been anti-vaccination folk beginning with people who opposed Jenner. People fought the small pox vaccine. Fortunately they did not accomplish their goals and now there is no small pox anywhere in the world. That will not happen with COVID because it will continue to mutate. We can hope and pray it mutates into a less dangerous disease. A virus can mutate in either direction.

  44. Thanks, BB, for the clarification. I'm sure it will help stimulate the conversation here. I believe that we can limit God by our rejection of him. God will not push himself on mankind. He does call people, and a Calvinist would imply that people are chosen before birth, negating a persons will. They will commonly use the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus as proof of their claim that God will assert his will on a person. I believe Paul was definitely ripe to make the decision to serve God, whether by God forcing his will on Paul, or by Paul himself seeing the great light, hearing Christs voice and receiving his calling as Apostle to the Gentiles. Either way, Paul became the Apostle that was needed. The rich young ruler is an example given of one who turns away from the possibility of serving God by rejecting Christs directions to "sell all that you have, and give it to the poor, and come and follow me." Instead the rich young ruler turned away sad, because he had great possessions. He didn't follow Christ. So, I believe man can indeed limit God's ability to do what he would will. God allows this, so it's not outside of his sovereignty.

    Another Gospel

I know of many Catholics who are saved...not by their churches terminology or practice, but by Biblical terminology and practice. My uncle is one of them. Many who are still insdie the RCC are trying to reform the church, or to at least take it into a new direction, back towards the Bible instead of towards papal teachings and edicts. I don't believe they'll ever do it, but it's not my call on where they serve the Lord. I don't answer for their choices. You'll make no enemy here, my friend. Addendum to this post: On the statement you made about taking up the subject of doctrine later? I'm sorry, but I don't believe that can be done. The Bible IS doctrine through and through, and that doctrine is our guide for our Christian walk. Some don't seem to understand the importance of doctrine, nor what it truly is.

  46. What I meant was, in context of sometimes being wrong in spiritual matters, that none of us have it all figured out yet. Like, there are biblical truths and things we can still learn, and none of us are above correction or challenging. And if JB Henry did, indeed have it ALL figured out, well, I guess at some point he no longer needed to study his Bible.
