  1. My brother in law's birthday is today. When I sent him a "Happy Birthday" wish on FB, he sent me a Message saying my sister Michele in Augusta, GA was in the hospital. She had a very serious flare-up of her MS yesterday and went into convulsions. He was at work (he works as a Richmond County (Augusta) Sheriff's deputy. He couldn't get ahold of her when he called, so he asked a friend to go and check on her. The friend found her in serious condition and called Al at work. His supervisor sent him home. He got some meds into her, and she slept until 6 PM last night. When she got up, it had started all over again. So, he took her to the ER....They admitted her. Blood work has come back and the doctor told them that the drug gabapentin wasn't being excreted through her kidney's like it's supposed to be (the same reason I quit taking this drug about 10 weeks ago), and that he would need to keep her at least overnight, and if no improvement, with the tests she needs, until at least Tuesday. Al HAS to work today...plus it's his 68th birthday. He's stressed and needs your prayers as well. I'm not sure if he's told my mother yet or not. I'm going to try to call her in just a few minutes to make sure she knows. This whole situation could use some prayer...I know Al and Michele would appreciate it, and so would the rest of our family. This is the second worst MS episode Michele has had in the past six months. The disease is progressing. Thank-you in advance.

  2. BT, I agree with you. I have been a member of a super-small church for over 30 years. We have been called a MASH church. People come in hurting, get patched up and God moves them on. One year we lost about 50% of the members. No one went away mad. It was changes in jobs that moved them to other geographic locations. It is family. For me I could never be in a large or mega church.

  3. Absolutely disagree. Inspiration means "God Breathed". God did not breathe out the KJV. He inspired the original penmen and He the preserved His Word for us from Generation to generation. Currently, the KJV is our preserved Word of God

  4. I'm not sure I need to ask my mother who got the news. I don't know the severity as if yet but he has had an organ transplant in the past so he's high risk. Now my aunt who was vaccinated they put her in the hospital to die. All deaths are Covid related except those who die from the vaccine then it's natural causes. My nephew's friend died of Covid after the shot and he was an healthy individual prior.

  5. This is becoming quite common here. We have had friends who got the SHOT, and then caught the virus. My sister got the shot, and then started having flare-ups of her MS recently. Can't say it was because of the shot conclusively, but, strange that her flare-ups had NEVER been this intense in the past, and not anywhere near as frequent. It's awfully suspicious to me~

  6. I'm vaccinated an I felt it was the right choice for my family after much research and speaking with our family Doctors. I'm 100% opposed to the socialist approach to health and oppose forced vaccination. It needs to remain a personal health choice. The vaccine did cause a normal immune response for about a day where we ran a slight fever but were fine the next day. My company under pressure to comply with the illegal mandates so is now asking for a copy of my card as they are considering implementing biweekly testing for the un vaccinated. I told them I'm vaccinated but wont be providing any medical documents as proof. We'll see how that goes. I may decline their possible future request to do testing but haven't decided yet.

  7. I like medium size churches. One small enough where you can actually talk to the pastor and not placed on a waiting list yet not so small where everyone is related.

  8. Personally, I enjoy the smaller to medium sized churches. The larger churches seem to be lacking in some things, ie., friendliness, hospitality, encouragement of others, etc. It's not in ALL larger churches, but in many we've been part of. The smaller churches are more like family, and the medium churches are usually more diverse in race, culture, etc. The church we're in right now is a small church, under 150 weekly in attendance. We unjoy the friendliness of the people, and like the way people look out for each other.

  9. Sometimes. Not as much as when I was involved in the Lay Renewal Movement. However, learning how people act and react across cultures can help in approaching others with Christ? Agree? One quick example. Touching or rubbing the head of a child in our culture is acceptable, a sign of friendship. However, never touch the head of a Thai child. It is very insulting in their culture.

  10. CHS lays it all out plain, simple and honest. He doesn't pull any punches in this book, I have always considered it a "must read".

    So Amazed

For those who were a regular part of these boards back in 2005, if you will recall, my Dad also passed away six months later. Because of already having the book at the printers when my Mom passed away, I was able to bring copies of it to her memorial AND to my Dad's funeral at the end of March 2006 - thereby giving me an opportunity in print to witness to all my lost relatives (my second book The Seasons Of Your Pilgrimage contained three Bible studies at the end of it about the rest of salvation, the rest of victory in Christ, and service to the Lord).

  12. I don’t know Dr. Roberts or ever listen to him preach, but I personally stay away from all mega churches. Many of those mega churches preachers are too involved in politics and they earn way too much money. How much is too much? let’s say that person can pay their house off, with what they earn in one year. I’m talking about a big house. What amazes me is that Christians say they deserve it, the blind following the blind. Sorry for changing the subject a bit.
