  1. I had to attend a public school in the 70's, I understand that I'm ancient. I had a strict teacher who required I behave and perform in certain ways or I would have problems before and after I graduate. She taught me to listen, complete assignments, and regard others appropriately. Sadly, I ignored much of her requirements and ended up quitting school to join the U.S. Navy. She told me before I left that one day I would be back. I had scored very well on my Navy entrance exams and was permitted to choose aviation electronics for my career field. Again, sadly my performance in public school hin

  2. I took this picture with my cell phone. It was cloudy today, a bit. The mountains around here are beautiful, no matter if the sun is shining or not.

  3. Having been engaged in a thorough line-by-line study of 1 Peter over the past number of years (for a monthly men's Bible study) - First, I would contend that 1 Peter 2:17 is the conclusion for the context of 1 Peter 2:13-17, concerning the our godly relationship toward ungodly government and society. Second, I would contend that 1 Peter 2:18 then begins the paragraph of 1 Peter 2:18-25. Third, I would contend that 1 Peter 2:18 provides specific instruction concerning a specific relationship (servants toward masters), but that 1 Peter 2:19-20 provides the GENERAL principle of god

  4. Hello, 1Timothy1 15 Here are my 2 cents... Yes, I think you can apply it! I also apply what verse 20 has to say.... “....when ye do well, and suffer [for it], ye take it patiently....” The way I see it, is in any circumstance under the sun, if you(we), are doing the right thing and suffering, but take that suffering patiently and keep doing right, than God will wonderfully bless us! (He is me!) Have a great day

  5. Here is something else to ponder -- Is there a New Testament "law" for which the New Testament believer is responsible before the Lord our God? What I mean is this -- Without considering any part of the Old Testament Scriptures at all, does the New Testament record any number of commands, statutes, precepts, requirements, standards of righteousness and holiness, for the New Testament believer to obey in order to walk aright with the Lord our God? (Note: Having actually done a study through the New Testament Scriptures on just the "command statements" of the New Testament, I would co

  6. Here is something to ponder -- 1. The character of God's Law is holy. Thus it is in perfect unity with the perfect holiness of the Lord our God. 2. The character of God's Spirit is holy. Thus he is in perfect unity with the perfect holiness of the Lord our God. 3. If by character God's Law directs us in a perfect standard of holiness, and if by character God's Spirit directs us in a perfect standard of holiness, in what manner does God's Law and God's Spirit contradict each other?

  7. This subject is so easily complicated because so many things are either mis-defined or mis-combined. For an example of mis-defined -- With some the Law of God now seems to referenced as if it were a "bad thing." Yet the New Testament Scriptures clearly teach that the Law of God is holy, and that the commandments of God's Law are "holy, and just , and good." (See Romans 7:12) For an example of mis-combined -- With some the commandments of men are sometimes referenced as if they were the Law of God. Yet our Lord Jesus Christ clearly taught that following after the commandments of men

  8. I posted this before but in 2014, so I will post it again in response. I Posted June 24, 2014 I was out soul winning, door knocking in the area when someone who answered the door stated "I have heard of your church, you guys are the one's with all those rules." I looked at him genuinely confused and said "we don't have ANY rules." He said, "then why do you guys dress so different, and you don't drink, go dancing, go to movie theaters, or party like normal folks, and you go to church like several times a week?
