    Re-introducing myself

Hello everyone. I feel the need to re-introduce myself since I have not been around for the last 2 years. As you might imagine, a lot has changed but the biggest change would be I got married to an unbelievable woman! I was celibate for 19 years out of personal conviction because of a divorce, but with the death of my previous spouse I was released from my bonds. I met Miss. Laurel Carpenter who is a widow of Pastor Alan Carpenter. See had been a widow for 3 years. We were wed on June 24, 2016 so we are approaching our 2nd anniversary. I still live in Roseburg, OR and attend the same church I have been attending for 16 years now. I have 5 children (2 with the Lord) and now 6 grandchildren! Laurel has 2 children (both adopted) and 5 grandchildren. Laurel has been a Christian School Teacher/Administrator for 36 years now. BA in Christian Education from Bob Jones University and then a Masters in Education for Southern Alabama University. I went to Bible college at Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College (now Heartland Baptist Bible College in Oklahoma City, OK) but only for 2 years from 1980 - 1982. My salvation testimony should still be on this site someplace unless you have deleted posts that are several years old. I am staunchly KJV bible only and live a life of biblical separation from the world in all areas of my life, to include dress, music, speech and abstaining from even the appearance of evil. I am glad to still see familiar names here! 2bLikeJesus In His will. By His power. For His glory.

Well, let's see. We have a country where it's been fashionable to "come out of the closet" and proudly proclaim that you're "gay" for a few decades now. But just 5 decades ago, when I was learning to read, Janet, Mark and Spot had a "gay" old time and it meant they were "happy". Now, Girls are going out, hunting bears with bows and arrows, fighting in combat and boys are now dainty little sissies. We DISHONOUR and emasculate our men, deeming them worthless buffoons, take away the things associated with manhood and give them to the women. How did we get here? Little baby steps. For one thing, we gave them our clothes. Women began dressing like men a loooong time ago and now the men have relented, we have little left. Bruce Jenner, the once mighty athlete is now "Kaitlin Jenner" wearing a dress.. Y'all do what you want, as for me and my house, my wife and daughter wear dresses and and are not the least bit interested in deer hunting.

    Hunting yummy things

Pretty neat. I miss my Remington 700 BDL in .30-06. My shoulder doesn't though! Someday I might like another in .243 Winchester or 6mm Remington. Or maybe .257 Roberts. I'm more partial to muzzleloaders now, especially the double barrel shotguns and cap and ball pistols.

    Saved in 3 tenses?

Indeed, 1 John 2:18-23 declares, "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also." First, there is no indication herein that these individuals departed from the FAITH. Rather, there is only an indication that they departed from the CONGREGATION of believers. Second, this passage reveals that they departed from the congregation of believers specifically because they had never been a true part of that congregation through faith. These "departers" were antichrists, who denied that "Jesus is the Christ." As such, they were NEVER believers in Christ, and thereby NEVER had a saving relationship with the Son or the Father. In fact, they were NEVER in the faith itself at all. Being in the congregation of believers has to do with one's relationship to the believers, and believers CAN be fooled for a time. However, being in the faith has to do with one's relation to God the Son and God the Father, and they can NEVER be fooled. These antichrists were indeed in the congregation of believers, but they were NEVER in the faith. They did indeed depart from the congregation of believers; but they NEVER departed from the faith because they were NEVER in the faith to begin with. Ok, I had a few moments for a quick post. I intend to deal with the question concerning believers departing from the faith and the question concerning a seared conscience in a future posting.

If it is minor, I would probably let it slide. If it is major, I'd probably talk to the pastor. If it is monumental, I'd probably stand up in the middle of the sermon and walk out in complete disagreement. Monumental error is if the preacher says Jesus Christ is not God.

For those who remember Jerry #’s, I have a source that recently told me he went home with the Lord in April 2016. My source had no info on John81.
