Hi CaitiBloo! Just so you know, I'm the guy you want on your side! Well...maybe not since I weigh 220 lbs. My standing on your side would hurt after a while... Maybe it's better to say that I'm the guy you want in your corner! Well...maybe not since you don't know me from Adam. You'd probably call the police to come arrest the stranger standing in your corner... I think I'll stop while I'm ahead. Well...not that I'm literally only a head, I have arms, legs, ...ah...never mind! I'm No Nicolaitans. NN for short. Welcome to the forum.

    Creation or not?

Most folks, Christians included, are woefully ignorant of what Scripture actually says in these matters, what actual science indicates, and that popularized theories regarding evolutionary ideas are not fact and in many cases have either been clearly proven false or there are other possibilities which carry far more weight. Our pastor did an adult Sunday school class on this early this year and I was amazed at how little most in the class actually knew about the topic. The time spent covering this topic was well spent as all but a couple in the class learned and grew greatly in this area.

  4. I have to let a rant out.... If I hear the Gap theory one more time promoted by yet another IFB Pastor I am going scream!!!! If we take the Bible literally and reverently there is no way to arrive at the erroneous gap theory. Here are some verses which not only poke a hole in the theory, but flatten it entirely: "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the FIRST heaven and the FIRST earth were passed away; and there was no more sea." "And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them AT THE BEGINNING made them male and female" In the b

    Creation or not?

I must have led a sheltered life, Invicta. When I went to school (locally) they didn't even mention evolution. However, when my oldest son went through school they were teaching evolution as a theory and creation as fact (he will soon be 33) he went through public school all the way through. My middle son (now 26) went through public school until 5th grade when he came home with the erroneous "homework" of evolution as a (supposed) "fact" and creationism was totally ignored as an option. Needless to say the school got an earful at once, and back then (I was still healthy as a horse) I marched

Hi CaitiBloo and welcome!!! Thank you for sharing that you are feeling a pull to know more about Jesus. I was wondering if anyone has ever shared the gospel with you? Just in case you haven't heard, I'd like to!!! I'd like to explain 3 things, if I may... #1. What the gospel is #2. What must we do to accept Christ #3. Why we must accept Christ #1 What is the gospel? Paul tells us what the gospel is: 1 Cor. 15:3-4 3 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;" 4 "And that he wa

    Guidance needed

It's definitely not an Independent Baptist church. My prayer now is that the Lord to help me find a New Testament church that I can grow with and learn from. And I thank the Lord for all the help you guys on this site have given me with all these questions. I myself was even on the fence about my stance on eternal security, but through His word He has settled my heart on this blessed truth.

It doesn't matter how many people say it, it is wrong. I would not call them Independent Baptists if they believe they can lose their salvation. This is what God says on this subject: Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; an

  14. Landmark Baptists are quite hard to nail down as each one is a little bit different to the next one. Outsiders will generally consider them to be "baptist bride" as outlined above, but then as 360watt explains that is not quite universal - and in fact you will rarely hear any Landmarker use that term about themselves. However, I know some guys over here that would deny the "landmark name" but are always talking about the bride in ways similar to that. I have been told also that Landmarkers tend towards Calvinism, but these same guys I spoke of last line are anything but Calvinis

  15. I am part of a missionary landmark baptist church.. independent missionary baptist. A key teaching.. which is not just limited to 'landmark' baptists.. is that the body of Christ is a local body and not every believer. I would disagree with No Nicolaitans that it is only landmark baptist churches that are the churches Jesus calls His own. There are many many many other churches that don't carry that name but have the same or very similar beliefs that would also be considered a church Jesus would call His. The teaching that the body of Christ is a local body only.. comes from lo
