    It Is Time

Eric, Thank you for your explantation that the Roman Catholic Church will increase dramatically once the true Christians are taken out of this earth in the coming of the Lord Jesus as depicted in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Once the Lord Jesus takes the true Christians off the face of the earth, and the Holy Spirit is gone also, then the false Christians, and the false religions of the world, will swarm willingly into the Roman Catholic Church. The resultant swarm of religious people joining the 'MOTHER OF HARLOTS' will increase the political power of the Pope worldwide. "And now ye know what withholdeth that the might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way." 2 Thessalonians 2:6 & 7 The Holy Spirit, in the heart of the true Christians, is the only restraining power in this world to prevent the anti-Christ, and the Roman Catholic Church, from taking world wide power. Once the Holy Spirit is removed in the Rapture of the church the false christians will flock into the arms of the HARLOT CHURCH.

    Comment On Current Debate

In my posts of August 3 & 4, I was responding to Mountain Christian's comment about the use of "and" in a general grammatical sense. I wasn't actually addressing the arguments of the debate. I was quoting what I had posted in the debate, regarding the meaning, use & significance of the word "and" as open discussion is not possible there. Agreed - your further detailed analysis of those posts was superfluous - they were simply written to help Bro MC with his understanding of English grammar, & the Gk words translated "and." Thanks, Geneva, I am fully aware that Daniel was written partly in Hebrew & partly in Aramaic (2:4b -7:28,) though I am not conversant with either language. Perhaps Bro Scott, you would explain in detail the Hebrew word used for "and" in the passage. Alan, if you paid attention to what Bro Scott wrote, you would spell "grammar" in the accepted way. You are not being "truthful" but you are simple expressing your opinion. IMO it is Bro. Scott who has refused to address the Holy Spirit inspired words of Scripture & has instead sought to refute the plain meaning of Scripture by his use of his claimed knowledge of English grammar to turn the debate into "an intellectual circus." His rejection of the Word as inspired was apparent in his first post: The KJV reads: And he shall confirm the covenant with many.... "He" not "some he" and "THE covenant" not "some covenant." I seek to prove what I believe & teach with reference to Scripture, both the passage under discussion & passages related to its fulfilment as recorded in the Gospel, Acts & Epistles. I have waited patiently for a response to my posting of Peter's sermon to the people of Israel: Acts 3:24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. 25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. 26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. Notice Peter refers to these days. and the covenant.

I read your comment and was reminded of yesterday's Bible study. We have been discussing creation, Adam&Eve, etc, and the topic of Lucifer and demons came up. There was confusion as to exactly what a demon/devil/angel is. One of the women kept saying "But I saw the movie, it's different!" after repeating that phrase several times in response to what I was saying, I finally got her to tell me the name of the movie: 'Constantine' I had to explain that although they used Biblical themes/names, it was not a Biblically correct movie. "But I saw the movie!" <--me

    Everlasting Covenants?

Our opening hymn was: Let us love, & sing & wonder Let us love and sing and wonder, Let us praise the Savior’s Name! He has hushed the law’s loud thunder, He has quenched Mount Sinai’s flame. He has washed us with His blood, He has brought us nigh to God. Let us love the Lord Who bought us, Pitied us when enemies, Called us by His grace, and taught us, Gave us ears and gave us eyes: He has washed us with His blood, He presents our souls to God. Let us sing, though fierce temptation Threaten hard to bear us down! For the Lord, our strong Salvation, Holds in view the conqueror’s crown: He Who washed us with His blood Soon will bring us home to God. Let us wonder; grace and justice Join and point to mercy’s store; When through grace in Christ our trust is, Justice smiles and asks no more: He Who washed us with His blood Has secured our way to God. Let us praise, and join the chorus Of the saints enthroned on high; Here they trusted Him before us, Now their praises fill the sky: “Thou hast washed us with Your blood; Thou art worthy, Lamb of God!” Hark! the Name of Jesus, sounded Loud, from golden harps above! Lord, we blush, and are confounded, Faint our praises, cold our love! Wash our souls and songs with blood, For by Thee we come to God. John Newton Verse 6 isn't in our hymn book. 2. The covenant broken. Moses goes back up the mountain, leaving Aaron in charge, and the people soon get bored. All they have to do is relax & care for their families & cattle, collect manna & water & live in peace. BUT before Moses reappears a few weeks later, the people start complaining. Turn on to Ex. 32:1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. That promised obedience is soon forgotten, & the covenant rejected by the people. Remember Ex. 19:5 if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: IF! They repeatedly show their disobedience to God's covenant, so that only two of all those delivered from Egypt arrived safely in the promised land – forty years later. The rest died in the wilderness. The history of Israel in the Old Testament is a cycle of disobedience to the covenants, punishment, a call to repentance by the prophets, and a short-lived return to obedience. How could God's wonderful covenant promises be fulfilled? ----------------------------

That's one of the big problems with Christian movies, many Christians just assume if it's "Christian" then it's good and what they have in the movie is true. When I was a newborn in Christ I was still young and had not been discipled at all, and I was unaware of all the false teachers out there, the wolves in sheep's clothing, the sincere Christians who were sincerely wrong in some of their beliefs and teachings. That caused a lot of confusion for me as I read anything I could get hold of that was "Christian". Many today are just like that. They don't know enough of Scripture and reality to know or fully grasp that not all Christians are the same and not all Christian books and movies are biblically accurate. One major problem is the plethora of Christian books and movies that are filled with opinion, speculation and conjecture yet presented as absolute fact. This is most abundant with those in the category of prophecy and the end times.

I again bring up the issue of "one wife"/ "Divorced" has to be read into this passage to be there-it is not mentioned, even though the word 'divorce' is common in usage in scripture and I believe if it meant divorce, it would say divorce. I have heard it said that multiple wives was a thing of the past at this point, yet in the middle east, as we well know, plural marriage is still practiced today in many countries, and I suspect it was more so then. I again bring up with fact that when Jesus spoke to the woman at the well in Samaria, He said to her, in John 4:18, "For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly". In Jesus words, she didn't HAVE five husbands, she 'hast HAD" five husbands. Now, maybe all her husbands had died, who knows, but the way Jesus is speaking, it sounds more like an indictment than just a women of her being a widow five times over. The fact that she was living with a man who was not her husband would also seem to challenge the widow idea. No, this woman HAD five husbands, yet Jesus didn't see them as still being her husbands-they are clearly no longer her husbands. So to say that a man who is divorced and remarried is now the husband of TWO wives is again, to read into the verse something that is not there. If it meant divorced, I believe it would say divorced. I went briefly to a church that taught that a divorced man is permanently tainted, and that in that church, he could attend, but he could have no part in any ministry. It was literally, sit down, shut up, and pay your tithe. This was before my divorce, but I still didn't stay there. The subject of divorce has gotten so crazily out of hand in many IFB circles it really hurts our cause. There are so many good things about the standard IFB ideal, yet so much misused and falling, I wonder at times how long I will continue to use to name.

Reading discussions of this elsewhere on the internet and it's amazing how many people repeat the ignorant line, "I don't care, I have nothing to hide." Most people today have no real concept at all about privacy or why it's important. They have no concept of the importance of keeping the government and others from invading our privacy. They fail to grasp the vast amount of power that is placed into the hands of government, corporations or evil-minded groups or individuals through the gathering of vast amounts of what should be private information. So Joe and Jenny Public don't care if they are spied upon, all their internet browsing, shopping, texting, emails, entertainment habits, searches and all other things conducted online are monitored, stored and put to use by those gathering this information. Never mind their information could be used to steal their identity, bankrupt them, ruin their credit and damage their name. Never mind their habits and plans could be known in such detail someone with evil intent could know the perfect time to break into their home and rob them blind; or know when and where they could most easily assault Jenny; or kidnap their children; or run a scam on their elderly parents; or use them as unwitting mules; or how a rival could set them up to take a fall; or even for someone to find something in the midst of all their stuff they could use to blackmail them. As bad as all that could be, imagine a government bent upon total control using these same methods upon millions across the country in order to have their way. It's no about whether a person is doing anything they think needs to be hidden. It's not about liking to see ads which show up based upon companies monitoring your shopping habits. It's about far more, it's about the potential for great abuse and greater danger; danger that could come from multiple sources and directions and impact not just us as individuals, but our whole families, communities, nation.

    It Is Time

It's a sad fact many professing Christians understanding of the Bible and biblical matters comes from movies, TV and hearsay. I've been in Bible studies where someone will quote something from a movie and someone else will remember having heard that before and agree what they said is biblical. I've encountered Christians who sincerely believe Christian movies are made by Christians so they have to be accurate. When confronted with a problem in the movie they get confused and wonder why I wouldn't agree with the movie since it's a Christian movie (and therefore must be "Christian" and true). There are many Christians in America today who are preparing for what they've seen in so many Christian end-times movies. Rather than living according to God's commands in Scripture, they are preparing to be a part of God's underground army that will fight against the anti-christ. So many of these folks have become doomsday preppers, some have formed their own little "militias", they are stocking food, guns, ammo, radio equipment and the like; all in the belief they can outwit the anti-christ, live without the mark of the beast, conduct guerrilla war against the one world government and thwart the plans of the anti-christ. NONE of that is biblical, yet that's put forth in countless end times books and movies to the point where untold thousands of Christians believe it's true. We need to set our eyes on Jesus, be busy tending to eternal matters, and leave these worldly things and temporal matters behind.

    Comment On Current Debate

Pastor Markle said: "I myself would NEVER dare to engage in this “exercise,” for it would require me to “take away” words from the Holy Scriptures that God the Holy Spirit Himself inspired to be included in the precise grammatical arrangement that He intended. I do not believe that I possess any authority from God so to “take away” from the words that the Holy Spirit inspired. Nor do I believe that I know better than the Holy Spirit, such that I might “correct” His grammatical arrangements. Rather, I believe that every single word (including the conjunction "and" at the beginning of independent statements-sentences) which God the Holy Spirit inspired in the precise grammatical arrangement wherein He inspired it possesses precise significance for that which He intended to communicate within God's Holy Word. I WILL NOT engage in an exercise that requires me to make changes thereto." Amen and amen. The Holy Spirit is the author of the scriptures and the KJV translators were correct in the useage of the word, "and" in the various locations among the scriptures. Pastor Markle, I appreciate your willingness to adhere to the scriptures as written and will not change the scriptures to fit your own interpretation as many people so in the age. I read the above information of the word, "and," as it appears in Daniel 9:24-27 and in Mark and agree with you completely. I feel the information concerning the word 'and' given by Covenanter was to miss-lead this study, and / or, confuse the passage and scriptual interpretation. As you brought out, the passages in Mark have no relevancy to the interpretation of Daniel 9:24-27. Covenanter, Please forgive me Covenanter for being so blunt; but truthful. I speak the following in loving truth. I really believe that either you cannot rightly divide the scriptures or you are posting a lot of irrevelant material on purpose as you cannot honestly prove your contention. Pastor Markle has not only proved his contention that the 70th week in Daniel 9:24-27 positively points to the 7 Year Tribulation Period and you are bringing up total irrevealant material constantly, and repeatedly, to either deceive, or to show your ignorance of plain scripture. The reason that Pastor Markle has to devote time and deal on the grammer issue so much is due to your unwilliness to believe the plain truth of Daniel 9:24-27 and its scriptural relationship to the 7 Year Tribulation Period. Your have turned this debate into an intellectual circus in order to try and confuse the truth. Alan

    Everlasting Covenants?

After all the discussions on the forum I was guided to preach on "Covenant Theology" starting from Sinai & including Peter's quotation of Exodus 19. I will upload in parts, using the sermon topics. God's People – God's Treasure August 16, 2015. A sermon on Covenant Theology – edited for the internet. Read: Exodus 19:1-9, 16-25, 20:1-6, 18-21 Children's talk Can you remember the text you learnt at the Holiday Bible Club? Let's say it together: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John chapter 3, verse 16. Do your parents have a special name for you? A name that shows they love you in a special way? Would you be embarrassed if I asked you to tell me? We often have special names – pet names - for those we love – darling, sweetheart, my love, Daddy's girl or Mummy's boy, Baby. A married lady I know with a proper Indian name is still called Dolly. I think of my grandchildren as my Treasure. Did you notice in the reading what God said he would call the people of Israel. if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: Ex. 19:5 My treasure shows how much God loves his people who trust him & follow him. God loves us & calls us to turn from our sin & trust in Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. When we do, we become God's treasure. I'll be teaching more about that in my sermon. There is a special word for God's promises - “Covenant” - and the simplest expression of God's covenant is: “You will be my people, and I will be your God.” Repeat that with me: “You will be my people, and I will be your God.” I've written a chorus to help us remember that special relationship: When you trust in Jesus, remember God has promised, “You will be my people, and I will be your God.” This is God's covenant, This is God's covenant, “You will be my people, and I will be your God.” Tune – Early one morning ------------------------------------------------- Sermon headings: 1. The covenant relationship of God with his people Israel. 2. The covenant broken by the people of Israel. 3. A new covenant needed. The covenant with Abraham The new covenant preached 6. The new covenant is fulfilled by Jesus 7. The New covenant lived

The "continuous historical interpretation," of Revelation as set forth by Hendriksen is in doctrinal and scriptural error. Hendriksen, and other individuals, that present this view that make the book of Revelation a historical account of the church is their own private interpretation. It is an affront to the very word of God, a disbelief of the word of God, and heretical. Eric Stalh was doctrinally correct when he plainly stated that the two candlesticks are the two Jewish prophets, sent by God, as chosen witnesses by God to prophecy against the Anti-Christ as Moses was chosen by to prophecy against Pharoah. The real insidious part of this invasion of privacy thing is that most think: "But I'm not doing anything wrong, so what if the government knows?" The insidious part is that what is ok today may very well be illegal, or get you thrown in prison in the future. Laws change daily and new laws crop up depending on who is offended by what. Oh, and don't forget "executive orders" from a president who cares nothing about our constitution or freedoms.

    Everlasting Covenants?

Brother Day, Thank you for answering my question concerning your position on the definition for the "old covenant." With the answer that you have given, it appears that we are in agreement that the "old covenant" is to be defined as the Lord God's covenant with the children of Israel at Mount Sinai through Moses (which was reiterated in the book of Deuteronomy). Recognizing that we have agreement concerning this definition for the "old covenant," I believe that you possess a misunderstanding concerning my position on the matter of God's covenants and the land promises. I myself do not teach (because I do not believe) "that the old covenant provisions will again be valid in a future dispensation." Even so, your accusation against me as follows is not valid -- So then, what do I believe and teach about this matter of God's covenants and the land promises? In my article above (in its various parts) I clearly communicate that the Lord God's covenant with the children of Israel at Mount Sinai was a conditional covenant, as per Deuteronomy 28:1-2 & 13-14. Furthermore, in my article I also communicate the consequences if (when) the children would brake those conditions, as per Deuteronomy 28:21, 25, 36, 63-64. However, I also communicate that the Lord God did give provisions and requirements for the restoration of the children of Israel, as per Deuteronomy 30:1-10. How then can and will the children of Israel come to a perfect fulfillment of the requirements for that restoration? The answer to this question brings us to my actual belief and teaching concerning the Lord God's new covenant with the children of Israel and concerning the land promises of that new covenant. You see, as I have stated above, I do not teach "that the old covenant provisions will again be valid in a future dispensation." Rather, I believe and teach that the Lord God's unconditional covenant with Abraham (and as reiterated unto Isaac and Jacob-Israel), including its land promises and provisions, still remains valid unto this day and shall continue to remain valid unto the end of this old earth. Furthermore, I believe and teach that the Lord God's NEW COVENANT promises and provisions, both in all of that covenant's spiritual blessings and in all of that covenant's land blessings, shall yet be fulfilled in every precise detail unto the children of Israel during the existence of this old earth sometime in the future. I believe this and teach this as per such passages as Jeremiah 31:31-40, Jeremiah 32:37-42, Ezekiel 36:21-38, Ezekiel 37:19-28, etc. In fact, by a thorough study of my article, it will be noticed that of the five different main points that I present, the one which encompasses the greatest amount of space and information is that point concerning the Lord God's new covenant with the children of Israel concerning "the land." Furthermore, by a thorough study of my article, it will be noticed that I specifically communicate the Biblical truth that the promises and provisions of this new covenant specifically replace the promises and provisions of the covenant that the Lord God made with the children of Israel at Mount Sinai (the "old covenant"), which covenant the children of Israel had broken (as per Jeremiah 31:31-32). Now, since you yourself, Brother Day, place such emphasis in your belief system upon the New Covenant, why do you deny from the children of Israel the land promises and provisions that the Lord God prophetically declared that He would include in that New Covenant with the children of Israel?
