Isn't politics wonderful, the unions are allowed to don't campaign funds to the very people in the school district that are supposed to be representing you the taxpayer, and of course the unions try to get the most union friendly officials elected, so that when contract negotiations come up they will get most of what they want in the contract, while you the taxpayer get to fund the whole process. And people wonder why the public school system doesn't work, hmmm couldn't be because the gov't got involved on one end and the unions got involved in the other end and none of them care about actual education they only care about the next paycheck. I'm not saying all teachers fit into this mold, most probably have a real desire to teach, but what kind of incentive is it to teach when you know the chance of loosing your job is slim to none. The politicians(including Superintendents) don't want to change the system because they need those campaign funds to keep getting elected, and the unions are happy taking in there dues so they don't want it to change. The only people who want it to change are the parents and nobody is actually representing them.
