Currently, in Iran, women can not work outside the home with out the "permission" of the husband. There are other ways in which women are restricted and treated as subservient.

Do you believe that the current laws and culture in Iran is correct in limiting the rights of women?

Do you believe women should live under the same restrictions in the USA because you believe the Bible teaches such?

I don't agree with all the ways they treat their women. But I do agree that a woman who is married shouldn't work outside the home if her husband isn't in agreement with it.

Amen, I wish my wife did not have to work, she really works for the insurance on herself. I dislike health insurance, cost of health care, neither one of us want to wind up thousands of dollars in debt or have to sell our home to pay medical bills.

I don't think I could do like a neighbor, declare bankrupts where he would not lose his home after having nearly $100,000 bill for heart surgery. That seems like a way to cheat those you owe money out of their money.

I believe it was about 5 years back when he retired he could keep health insurance, but it would cost him a bit over $100.00 per month for he & wife, he said, "I refuse to pay it, I'll do like others if necessary," and he did.

Back to the topic, the Muslims are a bit to hard on their women, to me it seems if they treat them as property.

I firmly believe the women are not to be in leadership roles over men. Now, let me explain something, whatever we do in our house, we talk it over, and I do not treat my wife like a slave and I do not stand over her saying to do this and do that and such.

Both man and woman have a place in life, this place for them has been made by God, when we live by God's ways, when we are obediant to God, that it when the blessings come.

Linda has stated from her observations, and a male teacher in our school has stated nearly the same thing, there is a complete lack of men in the leadership roles in our public schools. They have both seen the leadership change from men to women, both say, with the women in the leadership role the children get into much more trouble.

You could ask any person who went thru the school I did, from the 1st to the 8th, even though we had all women teachers but 2, that we behaved in class for if we did not she would send us to stand in the hall. Our principle walked the hall's about every 30 minutes, anyone sent to the hall got a whipping.

I guarantee, when a child got their 1st whipping from our principle, they never acted up in class again, for they knew our teacher would send them to the hall and our principle would give them a whipping. Besides that, back in those days if you got one at school, you would get one when you got home. Seems there was always a little birdie that would be sure parents found out about such things that happened at school.

While I do think a woman should not work outside the home without the consent of her husband I don't think it should be a "law". The underlying problem with how islam treats women is rooted in the fact that a woman in islam is actually considered inferior to a man instead of merely having a different role as Christianity teaches. That leads to all sorts of unjust and foolish laws such as a womans testimony only being considered half as credible as a man's in their courts of law. Christianity teaches that a woman should choose to submit and place herself under the authority of her husband and that her husband should lead and direct his wife respectfully without being a bully. Islam teaches male superiority, Christianity teaches that husband and wife are equals in worth with the man appointed by God to the leadership position. The practical difference between the two positions can be readily seen when comparing countries that had a Christian influence and countries that have a Muslim influence.

These rules in the Bible apply to the church. It should be something Christian women do out of obedience to their Savior. It should not be made law that applies to a bunch of unregenerate women.
