Members quinkie
For anyone who has heard this song, is it CCM? It would not be considered Christian Rock would it?
Administrators Pastor Matt Posted June 18, 2009 Administrators Share Posted June 18, 2009 I have not heard the song. Do you have a link to at least a sample?
Members Bakershalfdozen
This arrangement and the extra lyrics were written for the movie, "Amazing Grace". Beautiful words with a great message, but I personally don't care for the "breathiness" and "sliding".

Makes me think of "Jesus is my boyfriend" type songs (the breathiness does).

Members BlessedChristianlady8
This song Chris Tomlin took the history of when this Hymn was written. He added back The Chain is Gone ETC I have the CD and it says why he had that. I don't think it's about a boyfriend it's about Jesus forgiving us. Administrators HappyChristian Posted July 17, 2009 Administrators Share Posted July 17, 2009 This song Chris Tomlin took the history of when this Hymn was written. He added back The Chain is Gone ETC I have the CD and it says why he had that. I don't think it's about a boyfriend it's about Jesus forgiving us. If you re-read my post, KJVK, you'll see that I didn't say it was about a boyfriend. I said it makes me think of "Jesus is my boyfriend" type songs (of which there are many...even the people who like those type songs call them that). Chris Tomlin has a good voice, but he creates a sensual sound to the song that isn't necessary. I don't like breathiness in a song. To me, it takes away from the beauty of the words and the music. Yes, it is about Jesus forgiving us. I absolutely love the song. But not the way Tomlin sings it.
Members candlelight
I loved it! Then, again... I love Chris Tomlin. His heart-breaking testimony is truly something. I am going to post this on Facebook. Thanks, quinkie. I haven't seen the movie, yet. In Christ Jesus ~ Molly
Members BlessedChristianlady8
I don't know Chris's testimony however, I like some of his songs. Some matches my life and all however, I like more traditional Hymns and songs in church.
