My daughter uses chocolate chips in her Pumpkin Muffins and her Black Bottom Cupcakes.

Those Black Bottom Cupcakes are sooooooooooooooo good. They are essentially a Black Forest chocolate cupcake with cheese-cake centers, wherein the cheese-cake filling is loaded with those little mini-choco chips. That is a recipe worthy of note. I'll just have to post it. ((((Do you notice how I always gravitate to topics about chocolate desserts.   ))))

My wife uses raisins in her bran muffins.

Do you prefer::::::::

A coffee cake with cinnamon and brown sugar swirled through it,

--or--

A peach (or pineapple) upside down cake.

A coffee cake with cinnamon and brown sugar swirled through it.......Yummy!!!

Rake the grass clippings off your lawn with a rake or sweep the lawn using a pull behind your lawn tractor, lawn sweeper?

Can you tell that I am on my way out the door to sweep our lawn with our pull behind lawn sweeper...

BTW Jim, I like how your thoughts turn to chocolate....I am right there with ya!!

I much prefer the pull behind sweeper, because it saves a lot of time. (my front lawn is huge) However raking the grass clippings into windrows, then gathering them up into my humongous trailer is actually therapeutic. It's good exercise, too. :D

Mowing your lawn on your rider::::

Do you enjoy it???

--or--

would you much rather be doing something else???

I don't mind mowing the lawn using our garden tractor.....it is much faster than using a push mower on our acre size yard. I enjoy this time spent outdoors!!

Do you prefer to work indoors doing housework or work outdoors doing yardwork?

 • Independent Fundamental Baptist

Hehehhehehe, My wife and I both much prefer outside yardwork to inside cleaning. :D :D

For your yardwork, do you prefer::::

Springtime prep work for the growing season? I.E. gathering out the dead branches that have fallen on the yard, pruning the flowering bushes, working the soil for annuals to be planted, covering the ground around the perennials with mulch, etc.

--OR--

Fall cleanup work to prepare for wintertime.

My own preference is prepping the engines and other machines for spring and summer usage.

When working up the soil do you use a gas rototiller or by hand using a shovel?
Our flower beds have perennials mixed in where I want to plant annuals, so I just use a four-prong scratcher on a long handle. It looks like a garden rake with only four prongs.

When you plant your flowers, do you use:::

...a chemical root stimulator?

--or--

...just organic compost and let nature work?

 • Independent Fundamental Baptist

We just keep putting on more natural compost, as the old stuff keeps decaying into the soil.

Do you keep a compost pile for table scraps, crop residues, weeds from the weeding sessions, leaves, etc.

--or--

just throw those things in your woods to feed the little fellas that live there.

We save our table scraps and veggie peels for our farm chickens, ducks, and geese.......they really enjoy them along with their cracked corn... :)

Do you prefer eggs fresh from the farm or grocery store eggs?

Oh boy oh boy oh boy, do I ever enjoy farm fresh eggs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We get great big (JUMBO) brown eggs at a local one-horse farmer's market and they are almost as fresh as gathering them myself.

We used to have fruit trees (31) and had (past tense  ) fruit like there wasn't even no tomorrow.

Do you prefer fresh tree-ripe fruit (peaches, nectarines, apricots, plums, apples, and pears)

--or--

Are you satisfied with the best store boughten stuff.

Well, since we do not have any of the above mentioned fruit trees I will have to say that I am satisfied with the store bought variety....

When eating cherries do you prefer them fresh or baked into a cherry pie?

 • Independent Fundamental Baptist

Oh by all means baked in a pie, a cobbler, and/or sour cherry preserves (for tart pie cherries), and cherry pudding, cherry conserve, cherry jam, and cherries jubilee for big black sweet cherries. :D

For peaches, plums and apricots:::

Do you prefer them fresh and as ripe as possible

--or--

Baked into wonderful and tasty desserts.

I like them both, side by side. In fact they are so good, I could make a whole meal just with those two salads. :D

When you are making/preparing dinner, and you are choosing the carbohydrates. Do you prefer:::

Fresh corn on the cob

--or--

Succotash (lima beans and corn)

--or--

Potatoes

--or--

A baked bean casserole with four different bean varieties, ground beef, bacon, brown sugar, BBQ sauce, etc. in a huge roasting pan and simmered in the oven for several hours. (((YUMMMMMMMMY  )))

--or--

A pasta casserole

--or--

A pasta salad

Yes, I am hungry....I usually am when I am posting about food...

Well since I enjoy so many of your listed choices..... I will narrow it down to three...

Fresh corn on the cob
Potatoes
Pasta salad

When having potatoes do you prefer them boiled or baked?

Now it just so happens that I really and truly like taters just about any way you make 'em. Howsomever, whole potatoes wrapped in tinfoil, and placed on the rack beside a humongous pot roast (((roasting at 275 for about 4-1/2 hours))) in the oven at the same time cannot be beat.

Now that we have baked potatoes, corn on the cob, pasta salad, and a nice big top round roasting in the oven, we have to plan dessert.

On those hot days do you prefer lemonade or ice water?
I prefer lemonade but I know water would be better for me...so I mix the two together and have lemonade that's got some lemon flavor but isn't quite as sweet and therefore more thirst-quenching. Best of both worlds, IMHO. :D

Iced Tea -- made from good ol' Lipton (or some other black tea) or from Herbal tea?
