Our flower beds have perennials mixed in where I want to plant annuals, so I just use a four-prong scratcher on a long handle. It looks like a garden rake with only four prongs. When you plant your flowers, do you use::: ...a chemical root stimulator? --or-- ...just organic compost and let nature work?
Members Jesuspaiditall4all
Just organic compost and let nature work....however through the growing season we will feed them with Miracle Grow.... Do you fertilize your plants monthly or not at all? Members pneu-engine
We just keep putting on more natural compost, as the old stuff keeps decaying into the soil. Do you keep a compost pile for table scraps, crop residues, weeds from the weeding sessions, leaves, etc. --or-- just throw those things in your woods to feed the little fellas that live there. (((((One more post, and I hit the 4,000 marker. Hehehehhehehehehe)))))
Members Jesuspaiditall4all
We save our table scraps and veggie peels for our farm chickens, ducks, and geese.......they really enjoy them along with their cracked corn... :) Do you prefer eggs fresh from the farm or grocery store eggs? Members pneu-engine
Oh boy oh boy oh boy, do I ever enjoy farm fresh eggs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We get great big (JUMBO) brown eggs at a local one-horse farmer's market and they are almost as fresh as gathering them myself. We used to have fruit trees (31) and had (past tense  ) fruit like there wasn't even no tomorrow.    Do you prefer fresh tree-ripe fruit (peaches, nectarines, apricots, plums, apples, and pears) --or-- Are you satisfied with the best store boughten stuff. Members Jesuspaiditall4all
Well, since we do not have any of the above mentioned fruit trees I will have to say that I am satisfied with the store bought variety.... When eating cherries do you prefer them fresh or baked into a cherry pie? Members pneu-engine
Oh by all means baked in a pie, a cobbler, and/or sour cherry preserves (for tart pie cherries), and cherry pudding, cherry conserve, cherry jam, and cherries jubilee for big black sweet cherries. :D  For peaches, plums and apricots::: Do you prefer them fresh and as ripe as possible --or-- Baked into wonderful and tasty desserts. Members pneu-engine
Now it just so happens that I really and truly like taters just about any way you make 'em. Howsomever, whole potatoes wrapped in tinfoil, and placed on the rack beside a humongous pot roast (((roasting at 275 for about 4-1/2 hours))) in the oven at the same time cannot be beat. Now that we have baked potatoes, corn on the cob, pasta salad, and a nice big top round roasting in the oven, we have to plan dessert.     Would you like:::::::::::::::::: Warm Peach Upside Down Cake, with ice cream --or-- Cherries Jubilee --or-- Warm Blueberry Cobbler, with ice cream --or-- Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream with the following sauces and toppings::: ***Chocolate Raspberry Truffle topping ***Sliced and honeyed peaches ***Chopped, seedless blackberries simmered into a sauce with honey added ***Chocolate hot fudge sauce ***Strawberry sauce/topping --or-- Warm Cherry Pudding, with ice cream --or-- Warm Peach Pie, with ice cream --or-- An assortment of all of the above.   Are y'all comin'??? Dinner's about to be served.
Members Jesuspaiditall4all
I'm ready for dinner!! For dessert I'm craving something chocolate, so if I may, I would like the homemade vanilla ice cream with chocolate hot fudge sauce, please...... Now for a beverage to go with dinner, would you like.... Hot tea or Coffee or Coca Cola or Lemonade or Juice or Fruit Punch or Milk
Members pneu-engine
I'll have lemonade, please. HMMMMMMMMMMM, should we have another green or light veggie (non-starch) with our dinner. Have to have those vitamins, you know. Okey Dokey, we'll have another. Would you all like:::::::::::: Tossed salad --or-- Applesauce --or-- Fresh Dandelion greens with hot sweet-sour bacon dressing (((it's made with vinegar, sugar and bacon that's been fried crisp and crumbled )))and diced hard-boiled eggs. --or-- Fresh spinach with the dressing described above. --or-- Fresh Caesar Salad --or-- Stewed Summer Squash --or-- Just picked from the garden Sugar Peas and lightly steamed till are bright green. --or-- Sliced Tomatoes, and Red and Yellow Bell Peppers --or-- A sampling of all of the above.   You know what???
