Ok, title is obvious, so here's one of my favorite hymns.

A day of pleasure, or a feast of friendship,
A house or car or garments fair or fame,
Will all be trash, when souls are brought to Heaven,
And then how sad to face the slackers blame.

The harvest white, with reapers few is wasting
And many souls will die and never know.
The love of Christ, the joy of sins forgiven.
Oh let us weep and love and pray and go!

Definitely a powerful song!

My favourite is....Amazing Grace

I just love this hymn....it deeply touches my heart!!

Thank you for these other verses! They aren't in our hymnals.

I know the fourth verse was not written by Newton, but by someone else later. It is still an awesome part of the hymn we sing today.

When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Then when we first begun.

There are a few versions of this hymn....and this is another that I have copied from the web....this one seems to be most known... and the way that I know it, best..... :)

Yes, I've sang it a few times for solos at church, and once time I barely made it through, as I started crying. We'd been out soulwinning to street kids the day before and I kept seeing their faces!

You know you've lost your first love when souls don't matter anymore!

How Great Thou Art, is my second favourite hymn, ...thanks for posting it Tim. And my third favourite hymn is "The Old Rugged Cross".

I love the hymn "My Hope Is In The LORD" by Norman J. Clayton the words are so very encouraging and the music is pleasant to the spirit.

My hope is in the Lord
Who gave Himself for me,
And paid the price of all my sin at Calvary.
For me He died, For me He lives;
And everlasting life and light He freely gives.

No merit of my own
His anger to suppress:
My only hope is found in Jesus' righteousness.

Yet there are many others that I love as well. It's SO HARD to pick just one! :D Our God is sooooo good and I thank Him for giving so many the gift and the talent of good and Godly music to uplift, encourage, admonish, help, fellow brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.
