It's all about politically correct imagery.

During the 1996 and 2000 elections the Republicans were all over themselves thinking they might be able to be the first party to have a black president. It didn't matter to them that their black Republican hopefuls political philosophy didn't match theirs in many areas, they just wanted to be able to say they put a black in the White House.

Do you really want to know what this country is coming to?

Now, the Dems have hopes of being able to say they put the first woman in the White House while some Repubs are still hoping to put Rice in the White House and be able to lay claim to two firsts with one shot: first woman president and first black president.

Too much of politics today is about perception and deception.

To Colin Powells credit, he didn't take the bait. Also, JC Watts saw through the phony prepping the Repubs were giving him and left. Thus far, Rice seems to be standing firm in her statements of not submitting to run for president or vice president.

So, in the end, doesn't it seem as if this country is coming to reap from the sins she has sown?
