God doesn't always protect us from storms John81, but He will definitely make sure that we will make it through them.

If we make it through the storms then God has protected us from them. Our God promises to be our Shield and while that doesn't mean nothing bad will come our way, it does mean He will shield us so that when the blows come we won't feel the full force of their impact.

I kinda figured you would miss my point John81. When a storm blows your way, you will "feel" its effect John81. One of my best friends lost his house because of a flood (as a result of a storm)... he lost his property and his wife suffered internal bleeding and sustained lifelong injuries. Both of them loved God with all their heart. However God gave him the strength to see him through this spiritual storm.

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blessed assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

It is well, with my soul,
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

My point was/is that we should be in constant prayer for the Lords protection, for Him to be our shield, from whatever evil, dangers and what-not might be out there.

True enough, one Christian might find themselves with untreatable cancer while another Christian might see their cancer disappear. Through it all, if both Christians (all of us) take our case before the Lord, we know we can trust the Lord to see us through.

I wasn't saying anything against what you said Madeline; only trying to point out the importance of prayer and that we can always trust God to take care of us.
