Members IM4given
I have to get my money's worth out of it, don't I?
Members John81
You certainly do, and you seem to be doing a very good job of it too!
Members IM4given
I really feel blessed to have this computer - I never realized what a struggle it was with my old computer.
Members John81
I know what you mean. That's how I felt when I switched from my old computer that literally took minutes to do things this new one takes seconds to do.
Members IM4given
My monitor is bigger and better than my tv set. It does not take much to amaze me with technology - i was one of those people who was fascinated when Pong came out - I stood in line at Sears for a chance to play that game! Members John81
LOL! I remember that. I would play it at some store but I can't remember which one.
Members IM4given
Then Atari came out with Pac Man!
Members John81
That was really something back then!
Members IM4given
Then came my first clunky old Commodore 64 - man that thing was slow, and the parts were EXPENSIVE we paid $500 just for the dot matrix printer! We played Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Tetris on it.
Members John81
It's amazing how what seemed so hi-tech and wonderful not all that long ago today would be considered a worthless piece of junk!
Members IM4given
I thought Print Shop was such a big deal! Do you remember the giant floppy disks - they were big like a slice of bread and they bit the dust after only a few uses. worst thing to happen was to have someone accidently step on your floppy! I still have a few of the smaller square disks around - but no computer to load them on!
Members John81
I sure do! One time I said "floppy disk" when talking with a teenager and they looked at me as if I was crazy Yeah, I ran across a dozen or so of the hard disks the other day and I no longer have a computer with a disk drive. This computer is all CD-ROM.
Members IM4given
Same here - I feel like a little old lady from Pasedena trying to learn how it all works. I flunked the only computer class I have ever taken, so I guess i must not be doing too bad.
Members John81
I had some computer classes way back and none of what they taught means anything now! All I know about running these new computers I have learned by trial and error.
