Members John81
That's right good thinkin' there! My fiancee and I used to spend time reading the Bible together and studying the Word and praying. I wouldn't trade that time in our lives for anything. It's sad how many Christians will get together with a non-Christian and even marry them with the idea that somehow their new spouse will suddenly come to Christ and all will be well. Members annette_j
Right now there is Trouble in Paradise with he and I, but when there isnt we are reading through the Bible in a year together (this sstarting Jan. 1st) we do devotionals, as well as prayer time every night. This week has been so hard being that the issues are there, but I am still reading every day.
Members John81
There will always be Trouble in Pardise while we are in this sin filled world. That's why it's so important to keep our focus on Christ and keep in the Word! I do hope and pray the trouble may be resolved soon.
Members annette_j
I am praying that his meeting with his pastor will clear things up. I talked to his pastor last night for about an hour. He and I live 8 hours away from each other, and the night before all of this started we stood up in front of his church and gave our testimonies together. It was the first time I had given mine out loud to a crowd. I thought everything was great and then I got home the next day.... sorry way off track. Members John81
No, you're not off track. I've noticed over the years that almost every time I'm at a spiritual high place in my life the devil will hit me hard and his attacks usually come through a loved one. Members annette_j
It is funny that you say that because all the issues stemmed from his sister (I believe) who is saved but is very unhappy, and bitter.
Members John81
There is a reason Scripture tells us to give no place for the devil! Our enemy is cunning and he seems to favor attacking God's people most often through those closest to us.
Members annette_j
Everyday I am more amazed by what the Bible says, because there is so much truth and honesty in it if you just open your heart to the wisom it can provide! Members John81
Amen!!! The more we learn of the Word and the more we learn to listen to the Holy Spirit the better off we will be.
Members annette_j
I have to say that I agree with you 100%. I know what it has done in my life, and I could never go back to the life I was living, though I know we are all just one mistake away from doing so! Members John81
Yeah, I can't believe I ever lived the way I did without the Lord. There have been plenty of stumbles and falls over the years, but the Lord has always been faithful and helped me get back to my feet on His path. It would be so easy, even now, to dive into sin and live wrongly, but thankfully the Holy Spirit keeps me on the right path and staying in the Word helps to keep my New Man strong so the Old Man can't lead me astray. Members annette_j
There are things/people that quickly could make me stray from Christ, and in all honesty as I type this I am having a great conviction, being that I was being a rebellious "wife/fiance" with all that is going on... I am going to put an end to it and repent. Wow, Liiving with Christ is a wonderful thig, and I love it when he pulls me back in and puts my feet back on the solid rock! Members John81
The great thing is that God knew we would be tempted and we would come under temptations and He made sure we could always turn to Him in prayer and restore our relationship with Him. He truly never leaves us!
Members annette_j
Being rebellious, is something from my old man that I would do in stressful situations, I guess I am still, guilty of it. I know now that I was in the wrong to do it.
Members IM4given
Good morning all! :coffee I am glad to read that I am not the only one who faces daily struggles between the Old Me and the New Me! I am thankful that Jesus is in my heart and helps me to overcome that!
