During my Air Force days I missed one Christmas at home, spent it on Guam.

No Christmas presents, or should I say one big one, got a heat pump & having to replace our outside unit, $1800,00, compressor froze. We put the heat pump unit in back in about 94, the whole unit coast about $1,100.00. How things have gone up, thanks to our government & its regulations.

Christmas shopping? :knuppel: See post number 21576!

I was fortunate, stationed at Blytheville AFB, about 320 miles from home, so I made it home except for the year I was on Guam. And of course that was the 1st year of my marriage. I was determined to spend the next Christmas with her, & when they would not give me a one year guarante that they would not send me anywhere that my wife could not go, I refused to sign on the line getting that big enlistment bonus & 4 more years of the Air Force
